Grand Hotel La Medusa - Castellammare di Stabia

Fantastic hotel with beautiful grounds and pool. Appalling neighbourhood and virtually impossible to get around without a car. Great if you never want to leave the hotel but extremely difficult to find somewhere to eat other than the €45 a head at the hotel without drinks - very empty restaurant. Reception will push the restaurant meals on you and give […] you a look of disgust when you decline and ask for other places to eat. There is a restaurant nearby a 2min walk away that gets packed on the weekends... good food - if not small portions - but pizzas are huge and great value. Waiters serve with a grunt and moan and beware of the cover charge - even with takeaway. All in all - satisfied with the hotel and its ground however would not stay again due to the location. When planning our trip I looked through the previous reviews, it seemed that everyone had wonderful things to say. I was hoping that everything was true. When we arrived it was on an industrial street (not very impressive--can be difficult to find), then you pull into the driveway flanked with palm trees and gardens on both sides--soooo beautiful. My […] first thought was that it was the perfect place for a wedding. Once you get inside, the beauty continues right up the winding staircase--the room looks just like it does in the photos (the bed was queen size to our delight). To top it off the staff was so willing to make sure that any need you had was cared for. Wow this hotel was better than even my expectations!! Worth any difficulty locating the hotel. My only disappointment was we did not stay longer. My husband who did not care for any of the planning said, "he would have been more than satisfied staying at this hotel for the entire week!" In regards to the restaurant down the street, please be advised that they do not open until 7:30 pm--the food was pretty good, people were very nice, and be prepared to wait. But I would suggest that if you can, go out for a meal near the sea (perhaps a restaurant with a view)--this is their specialty--cooking seafood. FYI Italians love it when we stop to ask about their favorite restaurant--they are very helpful! Lisateave

My wife and I stayed at this hotel so we could visit Pompeii on our way to Capri. All the staff were excellent and without exception "went the extra mile". Although being close and convenient to the main auto route it was secluded and extremely quiet. The rooms were spotless, swimming pool, gardens, terraces and patios superb. Food some of the best […] we had all holiday. Without prior notice they were able to arrange an English speaking guide for Pompeii, with the hotel car ferrying us to and from the site, together with arranging the ferry crossing to Capri and transporting us to the port. The manager was very much in presence making sure everything went smoothly. We certainly can recommend this hotel and would go out of our way to stay there again! Lisateave

I cannot praise this hotel more highly. It is beautifully set in an amazing garden with a glorious view of Mount Vesuvius. The best part is the staff who made us feel so welcome and looked after our every need. Francesco and his staff made our week very special indeed. would definitely recommend to anyone. A real slice of heaven.

We only had one night at the hotel as we were on route to Naples. I wished we could of stayed for longer! The hotel is just delightful. The gardens are amazing and the rooms extremely comfortable with great views towards the sea and Naples. We also dined at the hotel restaurant and the food and service were top notch. I can't understand why this hotel […] is only 4 star? Free on site car parking is a big plus. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and am hoping to go back and stay longer next year. Lisateave

OTTIMO DA NON PERDERE

Super, super 4 star hotel; one of the best ever tried. I assume that had this hotel been lying in another area, it would have had 5 stars. The garden surrounding the hotel was so neatly kept with lemon trees, orange trees, flowers and small lizzards enjoying life. In addition the service was excellent, the rooms were very cosy and with the nicest antiques. […] This was indeed an experience me and my family will never forget. And I would like to go again just to relax and get the feeling of being a rich dane. Lisateave

ホテルのスタッフはとても感じがよく 対応が非常にいい。お庭も綺麗に手入れされ素晴らしい。場所が少し不便だけど、時間で無料のシャトルバスがあるのでさほど気にならない。お部屋も掃除がキレイくされ気持ちいい。近くに美味しいレストランもある。

No puedo decir otra cosa que perfecto, todo fue una maravilla las fotografias publicadas no hacen justicia a lo que alli te encuentras, es mucho mejor sin duda. Felicitaciones a todo el personal, su director, el personal de recepcion y Antonio y Maria en el comedor. Todos ellos junto con el entorno hacen que la estancia sea un autentico lujo.

Skønt og dejligt hotel med udsigt til Vesuv. Utroligt flot kæmpecitronhave med både pool og bar. Restauranten med nye lækre retter hver dag opfyldte alle ønsker til lækker mad. Det hele er også meget børnevenligt. Personalet fik os hele tiden til at føle os meget velkomne. Alle var rigtigt hjælpsomme. Kræver egen bil til at nå de mange udflugtsmål […] – Pompeji, Hercolanum, Paestum osv. eller hotellets eget badested Bikini Beach. Vi vil meget gerne anbefale hotellet. Lisateave

Situé sur les hauteurs de la ville, le centre est accessible à pied (2 km). La gare, assez proche, dessert toute la côte de Naples à Sorrente. Il est situé dans un jardin d'orangers et de citronniers avec vue sur le golfe de Naples, au pied du mont Faito. La piscine est très grande et bien aménagée autour avec serviette à disposition au bar. Magnifique […] salle de restaurant dans une véranda avec vue sur le jardin. Wi-fi gratuit 1 heure par jour mais bonne connection seulement autour de la réception. Navette gratuite 5 fois par jour pour le centre ville. Lisateave

We arrived a late afternoon to this greate hotel. Very nice and large room with beautyfull furniture. Everything looked brand new. Have a decent restaurent and an absolutely lovely citrusgarden with lot of lounge furniture + a adorable swimmingpool. I will at any time recomend this hotel
