Hotel Elefant - Salzburg

We loved our stay at this hotel and the location couldn't be better.

My seventy-eight year old mother, my twenty year old daughter and I stayed at the hotel a few days ago and we all absolutely loved everything about Salzburg and would absolutely return to the Hotel Elefant if we go again. Salzburg was added to our itinerary (Prague, Budapest and Vienna) by our travel agent and turned out to be the highlight of our trip. […] And the hotel is in the middle of the middle as our taxi driver told us, steps from the Rathaus (and I mean steps literally). The hotel was full of old family furniture and mementos and the hotel restaurant was a very good and reasonably-priced place to eat. We ate both a lunch and a dinner during our one and half day stay. It may be loud in peak periods because of its location in the absolute heart of the old city, but we were there during a grey and cool April period. We kept the windows open at night, and slept well until the 6 a.m. deliveries begin, at which point we closed them and were fine. Lisateave

The hotel is right in the middle of Old Town Salzburg, a great location. Parking isn't so convenient, but you can get a code from reception to allow you to pull up right in front of the hotel for loading/unloading, but you have to move it when you are done. The location is great, the rooms are small.

This is a charming hotel in the middle of Salzburg's Old Town. Very close to Mozart's birthplace. Staff really nice too. Only thing to watch out for is lack of parking as it's right in the middle of Old Town zone. Overall, a great place.

I recently stayed at Hotel Elefant during the Mozart Cup where my daughter skated representing Team USA. I loved the hotel, the location , the excellent friendly service and the food was wonderful!!! Hotel is in the heart of old town, stepping out front entrance right in the middle of shopping, excellent restaurants, museums,Mozart square, and sights […] from Sound of Music. My room was comfortable , modern and very clean ! Breakfast buffet included was very nice. The lobby is very small, so if you like hanging out in the hotel this may not be place for you! However, Salzburg is beautiful so this won't be an issue . I would definitely stay here again ! Lisateave

Staff was extremely helpful. This hotel is in the heart of old town. What a great location. Just wish we had more time to stay. There is a lot to see and do right around the hotel. We loved hearing the church bells echoing through the streets. If in the area again we will be staying here for sure!

Great hotel , superb location , great breakfast , lovely room with very comfortable bed . All staff very friendly and helpful . Everything clean . The hotel is so central all the beautiful surroundings can be accessed so easily . I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg .

The Hotel Elefant's central location and excellent staff made for a pleasant two-day stay in Salzburg's Old Town. The room was nicely furnished and the breakfast was good. The only drawback was the somewhat small size of the room.

The hotel is located right in the centre of the old town. My room was large for a double, more like a small suite. However the window looked straight on the back wall of the neighbouring property - only a couple of feet away - so there was very little natural light in the room and worse, no air. The atmosphere in the room was damp and airless. There […] was a lot of mildew in the bathroom which made the whole room smell unpleasant. I had to wait a couple of hours for towels after I arrived as they had run out (!) Neither towels nor sheets were changed in my 4 night visit as far as I could tell, and on one day my room was not cleaned at all. Breakfast selection was limited but fresh, and the service was friendly and quick. You can find better hotels than this in Salzburg, and cheaper too. Lisateave

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in June 2011 and was very surprised by the very poor quality of service and housekeeping. My room on the first night had no toileties and no remote control. On the second day the room was not cleaned at all! I returned to my room at 3.30pm and when I saw housekeeping had not been, I asked reception for the room to […] be clean - I was assured it would happen within the hour. When I returned again at 5.30pm the room was not cleaned and I was informed by reception that housekeeping had left for the day!! Such poor service for the price of the room. Also, each time I approached reception with a request ie toileties etc, I was made to feel it was my issue and was not offered an apology. The exception being one receptionist who came on later in the day and tried to help and offered me one free drink from the mini bar - far too little too late! I was travelling for 3 months and had stayed in 18 hotels - this was by far the worst I have seen - service wise - ever. Lisateave

This hotel is very close to all the sights in salzburg. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a small seating area. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of food.

A great hotel with great service - just a word of advice. Get directions to the hotel upfront if you are travelling there by car - it took us 1,5 hours to try and get into the Altstad, as it is blocked off for traffic and another hour to navigate our way to the parking garage, based on the Hotel's map. We were in Salzburg a day and what a great day. The hotel is in the heart of everything. We had one of our best meals there too. We believe the owner sat next to us at dinner and she made sure things were timely. The hotel is small and so was the room but it was perfect for the night. Everything was clean and modern. Free WiFi. Great time.

Unbelievable location. The best of our stay in Europe. Everyone and everything was great.... Will stay there again!

I stayed with my 2 children for 3 nights and we had a fantastic stay. Stephanie and Iris, the friendly receptionists/caretakers who were there to greet us everyday were wonderful. The large, free breakfast was great and lasted until 10:00 a.m. The rooms were very quiet, the beds comfortable, the bathroom vey clean. The hotel is conveniently located in the pedestrian downtown. Bus from the airport stops nearby at less than 5 minute walk. The rooms are nice and clean but small. Twin beds are really small but comfort is ok.

Great hotel with warm and welcoming hotel staff who are always ready with a smile & helpful advice abt food , places of interest etc ... Room is v comfy and spacious enough for us . Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends :)

We stayed for only one night at the Hotel Elefant, a short block away from Salzburg's Christmas Market (Kriskindlmarkt). The hotel is small with a tiny elevator, and our room was exceptionally small. However, the staff was extremely polite and accommodating and the hotel was very well kept and in a great location.

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Hotel Elefant. The hotel is situated in the middle of old Salzburg and it's an easy walk to most historic sites. Driving from Munich, we got aliitle disoriented but a quick call to the hotel and the patient expertise of the desk clerk made it possible to find our way to the front door. The check-in […] was quick and smooth, the room was well-appointed and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of foods to satisfy most tastes. Parking rates were reasonable and they let us keep our luggage in the lobby after check-out so that we could still tour the city until our departure. The staff was friendly, polite and accommodating. We stayed at Hotel Elefant for two nights of a ten day trip and it was by far our favorit hotel, and one of the cheapest. It is in the pedestrian area of town with lots of restaurants nearby. The room was clean and more spacious than most European hotels. The hotel does not feel like a chain hotel and the breakfast was quite good. We took the bus in […] from the train station but ended up on the wrong bus for a while so we ended up taking a taxi back when we departed. It was only like 10 euros so worth taking a taxi. Iris at reception during the day was so helpful and friendly. During the evening the reception men were responsive but not as friendly. We would ablsolutely visit Elefant again. Lisateave

We travel a lot!! This hotel was such a pleasant surprise. The location was great. The rooms and bathroom were a good size and clean. The staff spoke great English and the food was great. We would come back to this hotel.

The toilet closet was in the foyer entrance to the room, while the main bathroom (without a toilet) was at the other end. It was a long walk if you had to use the toilet in the middle of the night. Great hotel centrally located in the old part of Salzburg. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Excellent water pressure, but the bathroom set up was a bit awkward -- a common problem it seems in European hotels. Would have preferred the corners of the shower to be a little cleaner.

Although I expect the rooms to be slightly smaller in European hotels, this room was claustrophobic. Two people literally could not get by one another. The room was unreasonably hot (although the air conditioner worked). The bathroom was so tiny, I was afraid to turn around in the shower. O hotel está situado bem no centro comercial, em meio a lojas e restaurantes, o que é bom. Porém, para se chegar nele, é preciso percorrer uma pequena distância a pé, pois na rua não transitam carros. O estacionamento fica um pouco distante e é cobrado à parte. Freundlicher Empfang und hilfsbereiter Service. Eigentlich hätte alles bestens sein können, wenn ich nicht ausgerechnet das eine (?) ZImmer bekommen hätte, in dem im Badezimmer ein schrecklicher Kanalgestank aus allen Röhren herausströmte. Leider hatte jemand versucht, den Geruch mit scheusslich duftenden Putzmitteln zu übertünchen, so daß ich es erst […] nach einiger zeit merkte, was wirklich los war. Man gab mir anstandslos ein anderes sehr schönes Zimmer, ohne Gerüche. Dann war alles in Ordnung und sehr angenehm. Lisateave

中央駅からトロリーバスで５駅目「ラートハウス」で下車、徒歩２分程度。旧市街での観光・飲食には非常に便利です。12時すぎの早めのチェックインで通された部屋は縦８～９ｍほどながら、横３ｍほどの驚くほどの細長い部屋。全体の広さはまずまずだが、シャワー・トイレ・洗面室はよくぞここまでコンパクトに配置できたと感心するほどの狭さ。朝食は質・量ともに平均点には及びません。１泊のみで、早期割引料金などのお得な設定があればという条件付きでお勧めしますが･･･。

Das Hotel ist klein, aber fein! Die Schlafzimmer scheinen vor kurzem renoviert/umgestaltet geworden sein, uns sind in einem super Zustand! Das Bett, wie auf einer Wolke schlafen, unglaublich! Unser Badezimmer war zwar in nicht so einem modernen Zustand, aber trotzdem schön und sauber. 旧市街の中心にあり観光にとても便利。 中央駅へも空港へも近い。

Hotel excelente, todas as recepcionistas sao muito educadas, solicitas e alegres com os hospedes, sao maravilhosas. O Hotel eh otimo , localizacâo muito boa, cafe bom, quarto muito bom. Adorei e recomendo a todos. Ele fica na cidade historica , tem um otimo restaurante e eh perto de tudo. Se voltar a Salzburg me hospedarei nele.
