Pea Soup Andersen's Inn - Buellton

My stay was very good. However, because of my deafness, I was unable to watch the room TV because the close captioning did not work. I've tried many times to use the remote as well as the controls on the TV to no avail.Hope it gets fixed soon.

I really liked this hotel because room was bigger than average hotel. I really liked that the room had a small fridge and microwave which was very convenient for us since we have a small child and we would warm up his milk in the micro. The price was reasonable. I would stay here again.

We took a chance on this hotel as at the last minute decided to stay an extra night on our vacation and this hotel was unbelievable! We had a downstairs pool side room that made it easy to get to the jacuzzi & close to where they had the free continental breakfast. I would DEFINATELY stay here again! Also very close to Solvang.

Staying at PSA was fun. It is couple of miles from Solvang. There are stores like CVS, Albertsons etc at walking distance. Staff was really good except for that british guy, he was kind of rude but the lady at the front desk is the best host I have ever seen. Free breakfast was awesome. Mini golf place inside the hotel was awesome.

I love their restaurant. We always stop whenever we are here or passing through. First to time staying here. Room was clean and roomy. Walls a bit thin - we could here adjoining room. Toiletries included liquid soap and bar soap so make sure you have what you need. Great shopping nearby.

We stayed for one night. We wanted something close to Solvang and Los Olivos. Also, we wanted something more than just "another hotel." Pea Soup Andersen's has a History with the area. It also has its own restaurant next door, with its famous split pea soup (which, by itself, is worth staying there!). With a very affordable price (keep an eye out for […] AAA discounts), it's a very nice deal. It's located very close to everything, and very central to what we needed to do. The hotel itself has a small lobby area (nothing to do there, really), with very polite staff. But it does have really quaint and nice outside area, with a good pool, and a nice jacuzzi for guests. It has a mini golf course for enthusiasts (although there was even a local varsity golf team training there!). There's a fun, tiny construction in the middle for breakfast, which was nice. And the benches are decorated with fun quotes. The rooms are spacious and clean, with flatscreen TVs (didn't expect those, actually), an ok bathroom (small tubs, though), and sink outside the lavatory. All rooms on first floor (where we stayed) have a nice varanda, with chairs, which face and give easy access to the pool. While it does mean some more noise during the day, it also makes it more spacious and inviting, and, yes, we could just get to the pool and back to the room in two seconds. The room seemed pretty clean to us, no odd smells or anything, despite the initial look from outside (the big, green, metal doors are quite odd, but don't judge by them). And checkout is at 12pm, which was perfect for us - to sleep in a bit, eat breakfast, enjoy the pool/jacuzzi, shower, pack and still be well on time for checkout! Lisateave

The room was clean and comfortable, but outdated (especially the old TV that made a loud humming noise). The walls are thin; when neighboring rooms use the water, it's really loud. But I slept well and had lots of pillows, and the pastries for breakfast were very good.

This is an old hotel --- if it's really a Best Western, the rooms need an upgrade. The TV isn't a flat-screen; there wasn't a luggage holder; no dirty clothes bags left. Little things that you usually see at a Best Western.

The trash from previous customer were left in the room. When we reported it to the front desk, they didn't do anything but apologysinig. We could hear the noise from next room.

Friendly staff makes up for the outdated somewhat clean rooms. Does have a heated pool which isnt something you'd find at many hotels during this time of the year. Next to Andersen's restaurant so it's just a few feet away for a tasty meal.

This was a very basic hotel. Nothing special. it was clean, older, and inexpensive. It served my needs.

Nice big room, nicely decorated and clean. A small detail that I really appreciate is the small windows on the top of the wall to get fresh air in. No a stale smells.

Anderson Pea hotel was a nice place to stay, while visiting the area. The hotel was good, however some updates could be made. The all over carpeting and the room had an strange oder, however all was good. We would like to return to stay and would be pleased if these items be updated.

After we went in to the room, we found that the door wouldnt close or lock.. After complaining, the receptionist from the lobby said, oh yeah.. ""we are having trouble with a couple of doors" He came and showed how it can be locked by pulling real hard a few times, by which time the 2 neighbours came out wondering what was happening. Had trouble opening […] the door as well; the dead bolt couldnt be used at all. We were offered a change of room... Lisateave

This was my second stay at Pea Soup and like my previous stay it was comfortable and a good value. No mistaking it for a 5-Star hotel but it is clean, comfortable and centrally located for wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley.

I'm pretty impressed with the inside of the room and they gave us plenty of towels. The beds are very comfortable. Nice swimming pool and hot tub even though we did not use it. The only negative comment I have is, they ran out of breakfast pastries BEFORE 10 AM.

I got bitten by a bed bug. We got a room facing the street and though we asked for non-smoking i think we got a room in the smoking section because it faced the front and people would stand and smoke in front of the lobby. We hardly stayed long enough to complain and literally ran out when it was morning. Definitely would neither go back nor recommend […] it to anyone else. It was a waste of our money. Would have been better of staying in Solvang but all the hotels were sold out there. Lisateave

Arrived and tired and tried to check in. I had reservations at the wrong hotel. a wonderful woman at the desk called the hotel we had reservatuins at( about 200+ miles away) and told them my problem and they said we had to call hotel.com. I told Dora that I would call them and she insisted in taking care of us. She was able to get my room at the other […] hotel a complete refund and set us up at this hotel. She made a bad situation into a good experience as she was so efficient, kind, and very friendly. we will continue to use Hotel.com and will stay at Best Western Anderson in Santa Nella, Ca. when ever in the area. It was very nice.

This is our " go to" hotel for a weekend of wine tasting. I've stayed here at least four times in the last 18 months. It's centrally located, the rooms are large with flat screen TV, microwave, and mini-fridge. Continental breakfast is very basic: toast, pastries, coffee, tea, etc.

You can't beat the price! Slept like a baby! Very close to Solvang and even nicer then some of the Hotels I have stayed at in Solvang! I would stay there again and tell others to do the same!

Stayed here with my teenage daughter on a girls shopping trip in Santa Barbara. It was much cheaper than staying in Santa Barbara and we decided we would rather have that extra money for shopping. Enjoyed our stay at this hotel but the sheets had too much bleach on them and I itched all night long. The bed was comfortable and everything else was great. If you stay there choose an upstairs room or you could be awakened by footsteps early in the am as we were. One reason for this hotel selection was that breakfast was included. Upon check-in, was advised "breakfast" consisted only of pastries & coffee, and was given a 10% off coupon for the Pea Soup Andersen's restaurant next door for a "complete breakfast." Check-in person did not advise a guest needed a cable to hook up to the free internet. Restaurant does have good pea soup. Room large, nice king size bed. Missed something to write on and with, and no TV channel listing available. and no pay for movies avaialble. Breakfast, pastries, toast, juice and coffee very basic. Value equaled price.

Hotel has been around for a long time and was featured in movie, SIDEWAYS. Although an older hotel - its well maintained. The room was large, clean and had all conveniences (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker etc) plus a complimentary continental breakfast. It's close to everything when you're visiting wine country. Book this hotel for the first night of my family vacation trip and it gave us a pleasant suprise for the trip. The hotel room is not modern but is clean and comfy. The pool and hot tub and golf putting green are nice. My son loves the putting green and hot tub a lot. Breakfast is nice and has many choices. The same name restaurant next to it is a nice […] place to visit. The food tastes great and resonable priced. The hotel is well located. Gas station, grocery store and pharmacy are right next corner. I was surprised when I got to this hotel. It is very clean and roomy. The desk clerks were very kind and helpful when asking for directions. The room was spacious and very clean. I was on the first floor and all I had to do was walk outside the back where the pool and continental breakfast were located. Breakfast was in an enclosed gazebo. This hotel has seen better days. Nothing to nit-pick about... just a general ambiance thing. For example, tried to get in the hot tub....but....the water was so hot my son jumped out. So, I tried. The water was hot...but...the chemicals stung my feet, ankles and thighs. Also, the hotel would be better off adding $6 to the room fee and offering a "set […] breakfast" at their restaurant next door. Yes, I would have paid an extra $6 for a bowl of spilt pea soup, (namesake) two egg and either sausage or bacon with the lovely bread. The "complimentary" breakfast is an insult. There is nothing complimentary about this breakfast. The staff in charge of managing it care more about their weekend plans than... well any other shiny distraction not of the tourist variety. (Most especially if the "shiny" emanates from their cell phone in a tinny, favorite pop song kind-of-way.) Even with the over priced meals at the namesake restaurant, we spent more for worse food in Solvang, 4 miles down the road. That ""set breakfast coupon" could put this place on the map. The entire hotel was a curious balance between adults and children. Almost as if Hestia and Aphrodite were bickering on the balconies. More adventurous patrons might be excited if the breakfast were re-named "the insulting-you-do-not-deserve-my - attention for breaking of fast." Less adventurous patrons would hunch their shoulders over, mutter and hiss, "Now we have to quiet the internal organs of the small people so we can sight see in peace without them squabbling because their sugar has depleted their intellectual functions." This hotel has the capability to serve each and every one of these niche markets...especially in wine country. However, it unsuccessfully attempted to be everything to everybody..whilst serving no one completely. If my husband and I had been travelling without children...it may have had a certain je ne sais quoi. But, they made it so comfortable to be with children. There is a fine balance. They Lisateave

Clean and comfortable, within walking distance to Amtrak bus service to Buellton. Close to wine tasting and towns of Solvang and Los Olivos. Would stay again!

We are not big breakfast eaters, however, the continental breakfast was not even the basics. It only consisted of pastries with coffee and with two young grandchildren let alone my husband and I, we were at least expecting at least cold cereal. We ended up going out for breakfast. Very disappointed.
