Hotel Beach Plaza - Marigot

Hotel Beach Plaza is a relaxing place to stay. Loved the beach and pool and scenery; loved to be able to walk to all areas of Marigot. It needs a little sprucing up but rooms and all other areas were clean and the staff is rated A1. Full breakfast is delicious and plentiful. I can't wait to go back.

Great view

If your budget is tight and you do not mind much about luxury, then this is the perfect place for you. It is well located in the French side of the Island. 20 minutes away from the airport early in the morning, 35 to 40 minutes during rush hours. 5 minutes walk to the Marigot center area with over 20 very nice restaurants and many clothing and jewerly […] stores. The hotel have a nice pool, an overwater sun deck and a small private beach were you can relax. The breakfast is ok but you have to be careful with all the birds steeling your food. They are fixing the front road so if you go during these days it will be a little noice. Lisateave

I could have spent days looking out over the harbor from my chair on the veranda, beach, or dining room. I felt like I was inside a big blue marble in my own space between the sky and the sea. It was a treat, and the food was good too.

Only average in quality. Thought high priced for what you recieved. Beds hard, included full breakfast

Hotel is old and beat up, but clean. Location is good and an easy walk to Marigot. Breakfast was ok, Dinner not so good. All this said. It has been sold and will close soon for a complete renovation. Don't know if it will be called the same name after the reno

This was the only hotel that seemed to offer a one-night only stay, which is what we wanted so as to arrive on the island a day ahead of starting a sailing cruise. It was a long taxi ride from the airport and an even further ride to the port where the ship put in. Lunch at the lido bar was nice, the buffet dinner was so-so. Personnel were all helpful […] and pleasant; and the facilities are clean. You need to walk a few daunting blocks to reach a district of shops and restaurants. The beach was pleasant enough for a harbor area. I rate it Satisfactory as a transition/staging stop but would not select it as a destination. Lisateave

The room was a bit smaller than expected, breakfast was good with a range of fruits and pastries, coffee, tea, and jams. Close to many eateries and shops. Easy access to transportation and beaches. My only complaint is the iron I received looked disgusting and there wasn't any conversion adapters for my american devices for 2 days which is weird since […] there weren't many people staying at this location. We were delightfully surprised by this hotel! We had opted for a cheaper stay in Marigot to take advantage of Bastille Day festivities, and ended up at a charming hotel with helpful staff, a nice pool (practically lap size, if you swim), and an easy 8-minute walk to the center of Marigot. Upon arriving, we decided to upgrade for a seaside view (well […] worth it!) and spent a couple hours each day sitting on the balcony. This is an older hotel, but it is well maintained. There is a great courtyard with glass ceiling, making it accessible rain or shine. If you stay, take a walk into Marigot and enjoy great food at Chabin's Cafe and Bistro de la Mer. Testimony to the staff: our car battery was dead when we left, and the gentleman working reception tracked down cables and had us going in less than 10 minutes. Lisateave

Most overpriced hotel for the money I stayed in Road side noise and construction like you were in a big city not a romantic hotel,water side is peaceful but the staff member would NOT upgrade it even most of them were empty!,Brown water in bathrooms and rundown rooms, restaurant staff nice and friendly,Max a specially and others as well,breakfast is […] a big +,The continental breakfast had offered a good variety of food and drinks. The car rental guy- Bertrand from Golfe Car Rental in a lobby is a no no,rented a car for 24 hr and would be calling your room hours before because he oversell his cars ....and tried to get me on gasoline,(marked 3/4 tank-an accrual level and demanded full tank until I showed him his own writing!,the same with time of rental) stay away from it,instead a pleasant 10 minutes walk will give you several rental companies by the Market / Ferry Service Place on the Pier.Location,breakfast, weather and using Hotels.com was the highlight. Location was great. Close to town and many restaurants )opened late) near/at the harbor. The Wifi was spotty in my room but still available all over the hotel. The continental breakfast had offered a good variety of food and drinks. The only negative was the beach front, it was o.k. at best. Overall, it is VERY good for the price.

Staff quite friendly. Room was nice and clean, but balcony was dirty. Room had a 13" tv, very small, and the remote didn't work. Food was good, but lobster was overcooked and mushy. Hotel grounds were very nice. I'd give this hotel a 3 star rating.

The location of the hotel is really great - walking distance to the market and to downtown. And it was recommended by the Windstar Cruise company (probably because it is the only hotel near the port). But that's where the good comments end. This hotel is very expensive has has brown water. Don't stay on the road side - it is VERY LOUD. Our blanket had […] cigarette burns all over it. We had to request a new one 3 times. When we stay there the next week there was NO blanket. When we asked for one they said "impossible!". This hotel is not worth the money, but it is for sale and the employees are hoping the new owner will sink some money into it. They all know it is not up to par. And don't rent a car there - the guy will change he rules when you return the car - when it has to be returned, how full the gas tank needs to be....not a square shooter! The hotel was in a great location, especially if you are planning on travelling to the surrounding islands via ferry. Our flight arrived late, so we stayed one night in St. Maarten before travelling to Anguilla and the hotel did the trick. Good beach location (but get a beach side room, otherwise your view is a boat lot). The rooms were very average, […] but very clean. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Beach Plaza. The breakfast buffet was very good.

This hotel was seriously overpriced for the quality of the rooms, which were very,very basic and seriously outdated. The location right on the water & open spaces were nice, as was the breakfast which was included. But the property needs a major overhaul as do the rooms to bring them up to standard for the price range. The rooms were clean but worn […] with old furnishings. Location was the highlight. We had a generally pleasant experience in this hotel. It is older, but the rooms are large and clean. The free breakfast was a plus and was pretty good. The beach is not one that we would use when there are other much more pristene alternatives. The hotel is not in a great section of town. The French side of the island is extremely expensive but I found this hotel to be a great value for the money. The breakfast was great, and lunch was ok, but I would not recommend eating dinner at the hotel. Eat in the market area. I also wish there had been a snack bar all day at the hotel. There was a long period from 4:30-7pm where you couldn't even […] get bread and butter. Not great when you have a hungry 6 year old. The room was clean, bed was really hard, but not a big deal. Bathroom was great. Pool area lovely. Nice little beach. Good location to Marigot ferry and the Market is really fun. I'd stay here again and recommend it to friends who wanted to stay on the French side of St Martin. Lisateave

Hôtel un peu vieillot, mais sympa, au bord de la mer. Style caribéen traditionnel. Très bien situé, proche de la marina, du port de plaisance et du centre de la capitale française Marigot. Jacques Chirac y a séjourné et on peut le voir en photo auprès des responsables locaux. Petite plage sympa. Très bon petit déjeuner, bien fourni. Salades sympa et […] bien servies pour le lunch. Premier séjour à St Martin, mais plus jamais dans cet hôtel. Une seule clef pour deux personnes, wifi qui ne fonctionne pas en chambre, jus d'orange infect, nourriture au restaurant plus infect qu'un Mac Do, rideaux déchiré en chambre, robinetterie avec du vert de gris, etc.... Il y à beaucoup mieux ailleurs sur cette ile

Bien situé , belles chambres , personnel tres serviable. Super barman le soir. Vraiment à conseiller.

Hôtel tout à fait confortable, mais qui paraît un peu vieillot. Le personnel est très serviable. La propreté est parfaite. Par contre il est desservi par sa position excentrée par rapport au centre de Marigot (5 min de marche) et pendant notre séjour (24-26 mars 2012) des travaux de voirie devant l'entrée rendait l'accès un peu difficile.

Super hôtel avec un personnel très attachant. Bon confort. La Wifi marche très mal. Pour tout le reste, super.

Sommes restés 4 nuits, il y a une ou deux étoiles de trop sur l'enseigne, pas d'eau chaude, trés peu de pression , sèche cheveux défectueux, réception tv moyenne, sonneries de téléphone intempestives la nuit, verres en plastique pour les cocktail consommés en chambre.

Hotel rénové, tres bon acceuil, les chambres sont modernes et de qualité! Seul bémol le petit déjeuner continental mais l'Hotel meme s'il ne paye pas de mine de l'extérieur dépasse de très nombreux 4 étoiles sur cette ile

Lidt slidt hotel, men sæsonen er slut, så lidt maling m.v. vil gøre underværker inden næste sæson. Vælg værelser mod havet som har en fantastisk udsigt, og ikke ind mod øen, da dette er mod en vej. Stort, moderne supermarked et par 100meter til venstre for hotellet. Hyggelige restauranter 5-10 min. derfra i Marinaen, hvis man ikke vil spise på hotellet, […] hvor restauranten også er god. Hotel do lado Frances da ilha, só salva a praia do hotel e o café da manhã que são razoáveis, hotel em decadencia. Foi bonito quando inaugurou e nas fotografias. O hotel está velho, a limpeza é ruim, apareceu uma grande barata no meu quarto a noite e ninguem no hotel para ajudar a caçar a barata. Como minha esposa e barata não convivem no mesmo ambiente, […] depois de 40 minutos consegui desalojá-la de seu esconderijo e pude dormir. Depois de reclamar no dia seguinte, me deram uma lata de inseticida. Aproveitei e apliquei inseticida na máquina de gelo, porque no motor tinha uma familia de baratas, matei todas. Consegui usar o banheiro depois que desmontei o chuveiro e passou a sair água, ai descobri que o ralo estava entupido, depois de 3 dias reclamando, veio alguem e desentupiu. Fuja deste hotel, fique no lado Holandes, que é mais barato e muito melhor. Só não fui embora no primeiro dia porque estava pago e não devolviam nada, mas me arrependi, devia ter ido para outro hotel. Lisateave

Cet hôtel est génial pour ce qui est de son emplacement : situé à Marigot. Pour un séjour professionnel c'est parfait. Cependant, en vacances, je déconseille cet hôtel : plage anecdotique, service moyen, emplacement touristique moyen. Privilégiez les hôtels américains coté hollandais

Hotel confortable mais commence a etre obsolete compte tenu de ce qui se fait de nos jours en 4 etoiles. Personnel tres sympat et a l'ecoute .

La raison du choix de cet hôtel, c'était la proximité avec Marigot, la possibilité d'aller dîner à pied. L'hôtel est de bonne qualité, bien entretenu, les chambres sont très clean, la vue "mer" superbe, et la vue "ville" donne en fait sur la Marina et ses bateaux. Malgré le nom de l'hôtel, on ne peut pas réellement parler de plage, mais on peut se  […] baigner. Lisateave

Bra beliggenhet. Kunne gå til Marigot med butikker og restauranter. Bra at det var rett ved sjøen, slik at det var både strand og basseng rett ved siden av hverandre. Litt slitt og gammelt. Ser at det har vært et flott hotell. Renholdet er bra, så det gjør ikke noe at det er gammelt. Store luftige rom med god seng. Bra frokost.

L hôtel est bien placé afin de découvrir a pied l île avec des desserte de bus pour visiter le coté hollandais les infrastructure de l hôtel sont de bonnes qualité, le personnel très serviable est présent les chambres tres bien, une belle salle de fitness et la piscine tres grande seule la plage est parfaite pour bronzer et la plongée au masque mais […] pas top pour la baignade trop de rochers tres bon rapport qualite pix Lisateave
