Stayed 1/1-1/7/12. Great location. All staff and management were very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was excellent. Bathrooms and TV's could use updating but were ok. Enjoyed our week very much. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Great location. Very clean but dated hotel. Very hard beds and pillows. Nice Staff. Great breakfast. Overall a nice place to stay. Would stay here again.

Pros: room was spacious; service was always very friendly; convenient restaurants and a few shops nearby; free parking. Cons: unclean bathroom; room needs to be updated; bed was old and creeky; white bed comforter has multiple stains on it; decorative red pillows on bed were old and badly stained; the hotel is almost impossible to find--it isn't marked, […] so just ask for directions when you get into the town. Location: Orient Bay is very active; lots of watersports. Not a good place to simply relax in the sun--it constantly feels like you have to be on guard for an inexperienced kite surfer's kite getting caught in the wind and coming at you while laying out on the beach. We stayed 2 weeks in June/July 2010 and had a great time! The person at the front desk (Tiffany) is great! Very helpful and very friendly - a real treat for tired visitors. The morning complimentary continental breakfasts are served outside under a tiki-type building, or some mornings I would pick it up and take to my room. It included fresh croissants, […] french bread, a selection of jellies, butter, a cup of fresh cut up fruit, and coffee, water, or a selection of juices to drink. The location of this hotel is great, as well. You are steps from the beach and have easy access to the Orient Village which includes restaurants, bars, and stores. The beds are a little firm for my taste and an upgrade in this area is about my only recommendation to the hotel. Otherwise, I would give our stay a very high rating! Lisateave

This is our first trip to St. Martin and the Alamanda Resort was a fabulous choice. We had a great view of the beach and the ability to charge at various resturants on the beach made it easy. The breakfast included allowed our party to meet in the morning and make plans for the day. Great hotel for the price. Convenient walk to Orient Bay and a short taxi to Grand Case. Would stay again.

The Alamanda hotel at Orient Beach is a great place to stay. The room was clean and the staff was polite and helpful with suggestions and information during our stay. I would recommend this hotel, and I would consider staying there again. Orient Beach is a great place to stay in St. Maarten if you like the beach and watersports, it is quiet most nights […] of the week and for nightlife it is better to travel to other parts of the island. The room isn't extravagant and could use some paint. The hot water in the shower comes and goes. Other than that, every thing was great. The hotel is clean and the front desk is very helpful. Alamanda is located right by the beach. The hotel is located in a complex of hotels and apts similar to the Playacar development in Playa Del Carmen Mexico. Orient […] Beach is beautful. There's plenty of restaurants/bars on the beach that serve you right there under your umbrella. Renting a car is your best bet to get around. Most of the nightlife is in the Maho section by the airport, which is about 30 mins away. The stretch of beach can be walked in about 15 mins. It was my first time in St Martin and I can't wait to go back. I would definitely stay at the Alamanda again. Just make sure you pay your beach tab in cash, if you charge it, they'll convert it to Euros and it will be way more money. If you pay cash, the beach bars accept USD 1 to 1. Lisateave

Esta muy bien ubicado, tiene algo de problemas de servicio, los servicios de internet del hotel deberian ser gratuitos, la gente no habla en varios idiomas

St. Martin is expensive even by norwegian standards, and Alamanda is also. Location is pretty good, a hundred meters from one of the best beaches in Caribbiean, and plenty of restaurants around. But service was very bad, by any standard. The receptionists seemed constantly busy on the phone, and we felt we were intruding when asking about stuff. It […] took more than 24 hours to get an extra blanket, after a second request. They had almost no knowledge of anyting, and we never got any tips for best lobster-restaurant though the receptionist promised to check for us. At the piazza behind the hotel, restaurant Little Italy is higly recommended, skip the thai restaurant, mediocre food. A taxi-trip to Grand Case and you should try restaurant The Villa, excellent food, first class service. Lisateave

O hotel fica em uma localizacao excelente de frente para o mar em baie orientale e muito limpo. Os quartos sao amplos e tem convenios com o kiosk na praia. O staff é amistoso e agéis para qualquer ncessidade de ajuda. É importante lembrar que as tomadas sao de pino redondo e normalmente para eletronicos precisa-se de adaptador.
