Large resorts dominate the Hotel Zone, arguably the center of Puerto Vallarta tourism. This area includes the Maritime Terminal, where cruise ships dock. Across the street, visitors can see authentic bullfights at La Paloma Bullring. Like its southern half, the North Hotel Zone’s main attraction is the crescent-shaped bay. Water sports are in abundance, as are restaurants, bars, and shops.

"nice property"
If you just plan on staying on property, the hotel is nice enough. If you want to go to the Malicon, trip there is kinda expensive. Not much to do on property, but the activities person, Richard, is excellent. The part of our stay we were most disappointed in was our dining experience. The food service was only mediocre. The food at all the restaurants was really not to be recommended. The staff were all very friendly but the hotel is aging and the hallways were certainly not clean. The pipes were noisy and the music was quite loud every night.

"Pampered in Puerto Vallarta"
We are greeted at the curb, escorted into the lobby where our luggage is checked (we arrived early before check in time), a concierge greets us and introduces us to the front desk person. Since we had time to kill, decided to use the business center to check our emails, and were escorted and signed in by another concierge. That is just the first 30 […] minutes being at the Fiesta Americana. The service was awesome. Rafael made sure no matter where we sat - poolside or on the beach - that we had plenty to drink and eat. The food was good. The room was wonderful and clean. We loved the location - just step outside, hop a taxi or bus and you are in downtown or the malecon. We totally enjoyed the Fiesta Americana and would recommend it to our friends. Lisateave

Yhe rooms were immaculate. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Only con is many of the guests are rude and feel like they are above the staff. Aka rich people.

Our only complaints were that we had no coffee maker in the room, there was only one hand towel (but 3 bath towels) and that the bathtub had not been cleaned. However the staff is all excellent and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Expect to pay for every little thing. Food marginal. Sunset Bar closed at Sunset. Nearly 100% Mexican clientele. Time share guys aggressive. Will never return.

first and foremost, the service is A-Mazing! when we left we felt like we were leaving family. i reserved five nights and then reserved five more! the hotel itself has a beautiful lobby with the biggest palapa i've ever seen. it is always clean and the the food is great, especially at the bikini bar :) we had a great breakfast buffet every morning and […] every morning we ordered something different, because if its not there, they'll make it for you. we loved Nallely in reception, Miguel at the bikini bar, and Candi and Gumercindo at breakfast! "Nice Hotel, But they don't get it."
Just got back from PV and must say had a fantastic time. We initially stayed at the Shearaton down the road for the first four nights. I left the last three nights free in case we wanted to go up the coast or stay in the old part of town south of the bridge. The Fiesta Americana is a very nice property with no timeshare hassles and a very friendly […] staff. My son and I picked this one because he wanted more pool time and it has a nice pool. The first time out at the pool I ordered a margarita and told the waiter just how I wanted it. No mix just fresh squeezed lime, tequila and some triple sec. He turned to the bartender and said he wants a margarita and walked away. I worked with the bartender to get it right so it was ok from then out. Ramon was his name, nice guy. I went out to the pool area and was invited to play a game of darts by the activities director which was fun. Overall the pool and pool food was good but here is where they lost us. The internet was extremely expensive. And after staying for a few days at the Shearaton where it was free we were rather bummed. Also a charge to use the gym. After a day we were no longer interested in hanging out there but to cool off in the pool. I know it's a different business model but if you want to get people to stay and use your hotel you should not be nickle and diming them for every little thing. I think if the gym was free and the wireless was free we would have stayed around and had a few more meals there. We found that there were multiple places to find free wi-fi in town so in the end it wasn't really that big of a deal. Lisateave

We have stayed here several times, and we were not disappointed this time. The staff is extremely friendly. Our breakfast was included in our room rate, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. We try to stay here whenever there is a special on.

Besides the hotel being a good clean place tob stay the beds were superb. The most confortable bed I've ever sleep in. And the pillows were even better. I wanted to pack the bed and pillows and take them home with me.

The hotel was terrific and great price with pre-paid. Service was extremely nice. Food and activities were great. Very popular place and get a lot for your money. We were given a suite for the price of a room. there was a party with excellent music that we all enjoyed.

Great hotel. I will think is much better than the Sheraton which is only 10 mins walk as Fiesta Americana has propert beaches. It needs some paiting in some of the walls, an upgrade the TV sets, but all together was a great experience.

"Relaxing Vacation"
Our stay was 12 - 19 July 2010. Excellent hotel! Very relaxing! I didn't see anyone at the hotel trying to sell any timeshares. The beach venders were kept away from the hotel guests. Hotel staff are very pleasant and respectful. Room was spotless along with the balcony. The restaurants are excellent! The breakfast buffet at Chulavista is awesome! Best […] tasting coffee ever! Sergio, our waiter was very pleasant. The Hacienda restaurant for dinner is great! The food and service is just as good. Victor, our waiter was able to give a full explanation of the tequila and menu choices. I've already made several recommendations and plan to return with other friends next year. Lisateave

It was a business trip, the hotel is beautiful and the service is great, I totally loved it.

The room was spacious and very clean. The view of the pool below and ocean beyond was amazing. When we came back from a day out, the condition of the room was spotless and all our items were neatly organized. We were very impressed with this hotel and its service.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was very friendly. It was very quiet while we were there, I'm guessing it was an off season. So all the restaurants were not open...we were disappointed by that because our last night we wanted to try La Hacienda which we heard was really good but it was closed. The swim up bar was really nice and the pool […] was really pretty. There were no activities going on while we were there which was a little disappointing so we spend most of our time going into the downtown area which was nice. They had an awesome deal on a massage right on the beach...it was buy 1 get 1 1/2 off, so for both of us it was $100 USD which we thought was just wonderful. We would stay here again. Lisateave

We were immediately stopped on our way to the pool by two hotel employees. The employees indicated that they were the "welcoming committee" and would like to give us information about the hotel. This is a beautiful hotel on the beach near the marina and the airport. Lobby was very inviting, located in a breezeway between the entry and the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Virtually all rooms face the ocean, each with a private balcony. My was clean and nicely furnished, including cable TV. On-site restaurants served delicious food and offer […] a 25% discount to hotel guests. The nicely landscaped pool and beach area were maticulously maintained and clean. On the negative side, I could not get the WebTV controller to work correctly. Also, the air conditioner kept the room too cold and was difficult to regulate. I adjusted the thermostat to its highest setting (28C/82F), but the temperature in the room never exceeded 65F. Turning the unit off was hit or miss. Lisateave

"Would not stay again for free"
After reading such great reviews about this hotel, I decided to book here. Once arriving about 15 mins after check in time, our room was still not ready. The front desk said it would take 15 mins., so we waited, then they said it would take another 30 mins., so we waited 45 mins. for a room we had already booked. You can not bring in outside food. You […] either have to go out to eat, or pay an arm and a leg to eat their food. I got $40 and my wedding ring stolen from our hotel room! I would never stay here ever again. Lisateave

"Above average stay for the money"
The hotel is above standard unless you are used to 5 star U.S quality ie Ritz & 4 season. The all inclusive isn't what it's cracked up to be. There is so many restraunt only a cab ride away. The location is safe both for walking and cab trips however, while walking you will be asked to get involved in a time share or what they call a visit. Don't It's […] a waste of time. Beware upon arrivail at airport time share and transportation are out to rip you off. You have to use transportation ITS OVERPRICED. Once you get to hotel here is the special treat ask the vallet for cab # 360 the driver name is keno. What a treat. Make sure he takes you to Cafe Del Jolle. You eat like a king there for 30 usd. Keno will never over charge you for the ride and he's got wonderful stories. Have fun and follow my instructions and you'll be ok. Rate was exceptional for the service and food. The rooms very clean and maid staff very friendly. Front desk personnel went the extra mile if needed. Waiters and cooks excellant.. Everything was great in our trip last week, people were very friendly, the beach was clean and well organized and the buffet breakfast was fantastic. This is is definitely my best option in Puerto Vallarta.

Stayed here twenty years ago. The place looks the same. The daily attention to detail and cleaning is wonderful. This is not really geared to kids but there were kids at the pool and they all seemed like they loved it. Breakfast each day is a buffet and also a chef who makes hot breakfast cooked to order.

mmmm No estuvo mal, pero no tienen internet en las habitaciones, y hoy en día es un servicio indispensable. Hay otros hoteles mas económicos que ya lo manejan por default.Quizás el hotel no es para gente de negocios, pero aun de vacaciones se necesita la conexión.
