The family room for 3 we stayed sorely needs s makeover - cracked wall, dated carpet, chipped n very old doors, stained tiles n tub in bathroom etc. The saving grace is its close proximity to Victoria station, decent breakfast n friendly staff. Looking at e room condition I would say its 2 to 3 star at most. If you are looking for comfort do not stay […] here. Lisateave

The Windermere Hotel is very old but well maintained. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located within walking distance to the Victoria underground station.

The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly to my wife and I during our stay. When the Olympics have finished we will stay here again. The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to London Victoria train station. You can easily walk to Big Ben or Buck Palace from the hotel. The show "wicked" is within easy walking distance too" English cooked breakfast […] is amazing and free "wifi in room" one of the reasons for picking this hotel, when in London it's great to have free wifi to do research on places to visit and locations of the shops (My wife loves to shop for those expensive handbags, as a professional engineer I still don't understand this but hey!). The Windemere Hotel near Victoria Station is a gem. The owners/staff are personable and helpful. They are gracious hosts rather than impersonal employees. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The owners and staff were excellent. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel rooms are small and narrow. A bit difficult but..if that doesn't bother you, go for it.

This hotel was magnificent, from the moment we arrived till the time we left the staff could not do enough to make our stay any better. The hotel was immaculate, with attentive staff. The breakfast was generous well cooked and plenty of choice for all tastes. The location was ideal for what we had planned for the weekend and we easily found the hotel […] from the station. We can not recommend this hotel as highly as recommended by hotels.com. The room was so small that it was impossible to find enough room to open 2 suitcases. The sink was in the bedroom next to the entry door which opened to the main hallway giving no privacy. The bathroom is so small you literally do not have enough room to walk in front of the toilet […] to get in the shower (total area including shower floor is 3X5 feet). The Victoria station is the closest tube and is over 1/2 mile away and takes 15 minutes to walk to, but is in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The best attributes of the Windermere were the front desk is manned by a very helpful and friendly staff 24 hours a day and the included breakfast was very good. This hotel is for the individual who likes a quaint, dainty and off the beaten track B&B. Lisateave

The location, safe neighborhood andd it was very close to the Victoria station for getting around England. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the quality of food in the dining room. It was nice to have a continental breakfast each morning as well. I would recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel and rooms are small. The rooms are clean and the staff is polite and helpful. The location is great, less than ten minute walk to Victoria station. Also close enough to walk to other attractions (e.g. Buckingham Palace).

LOCATION WAS PERFECT, RIGHT BEHIND VICTORIA STATION.....STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL......FREE USE OF INTERNET AND ALL NITE ROOM SERVICE....WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.....

The young man at the desk was most helpful in getting us tickets to the Buckingham Palace saving us a long line when we reached there. He also helped us book our aisle seats on the airplane 24 hours before flying which was wonderful. The breakfast was very good and varied menu. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for three nights in Aug, so room temp was perfect without any need for heat or a/c. The room was on the ground floor which we thought might be noisy, but this wasn't the case. The bed was huge, en suite small but adequate. TV & radio on a flat screen. Breakfast cooked to order & generous portions. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Windemere in large part due to the more than helpful front desk personnel. They went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The hotel is in a convenient, central location, a few blocks from Victoria Station. Very quiet neighborhood. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. There is a new lift, but we only used it when taking our luggage up and down at the beginning & end of our stay. Complimentary breakfast was very good - good value too. […] The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. The Pimlico Restaurant in the hotel is open for dinner. Booked the Windmere for location and was very impressed with spaciousness of room and the breakfast. The hotel has 20 roooms and this lent the small town type atmosphere to the hotel---no loud noises in the halls or crowded common areas. Staff always ready to help. Would stay here again. Considerate staff, excellent service, very good breakfast - and squeaky clean, large, comfortable room. We will certainly go there first for a reservation when we next visit London. MOST satisfactory. Alas - the TV did NOT get radio ! - but then we had our portable with us ! A very minor problem. For my first time ever in London, the Windermere proved to be quite fine accommodations. We were upgraded to what is probably a large room upon check-in with a very decent bathroom (after hearing stories of small or non-existent ones). The hotel is fairly close in walking distance to Victoria Station and a little further walk to Westminster Abbey and the Parliament Buildings so the location was good. Location is fine, just about a 15-minute walk to see anything or catch the tube (not much at all in the immediate neighborhood). We woke up to no hot water one day. Hotel said they'd fix it and call us back within 15 minutes. Didn't call at all, and after 2 hours of waiting, we left...but by the time we returned that night, they'd rectified the problem. […] All's well that ends well. Overall, it was very nice -- just had to be a bit flexible. I wouldn't deter someone from staying there, but it might be worth checking out other options, too. Lisateave

The hotel surpassed our expectations: the staff friendly&the bedroom large. There were lovely toiletries in the large bathroom too!Most comfortable bed I've slept in. Very central location too. Only negative would be that they stop serving breakfast at 9.30am.

As with many similar hotels it has tight corridors, plentry of stairs and my room, right at the top, had an incredibly small bathroom (typical of many similar hotels) but the room itself was a reasonable size. Breakfast was good and overall the hotel was OK.

Our only problem with this hotel was the fact that we were on the top floor and there is no lift. If I was booking in future I would specify that I wanted to be on the first or second floor only. The room also has a vivid green exit light over one of the windows and we had to cover it up with a jacket in order to sleep. My son and I were thoroughly satisfied with the Windermere. All the staff were extremely helpful even printing out a map of the bus route so we could visit the Chelsea Physic Garden. Our room was spacious and had two windows since it was a corner room. The basement restaurant was cheerful with flowers on the table. The full English breakfast was very […] good and very popular. I ate twice in the evening and had good service and beautifully prepared food. It would have been nice to have a tub instead of only a shower and an elevator or lift would have helped this over 60 visitor, but I knew what I had booked so no complaints. The neighborhood was peaceful and we found several good restaurants just a few blocks away. it is about a 10 minute walk to Victoria station, a bit long for me at the end of a busy day, but doable. We would definitely recommend the Windermere to friends and family Lisateave

The hotel is a short walk from Victoria train station. It wasn't bad at all with bags. However, when we first arrived we must have walked in circles for 30 min looking for the hotel. I'd recommend asking someone to point you in the right direction when you exit the station (or look for St. George's Pub). It is by far the best looking and best priced […] hotel in the area. The rooms were clean and having our own bathroom was nice (huge). The fans in the room were great. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food was great. Only two downsides is that if you are on the top floor, as we were, it's quite a walk up. I'd like to think I'm in decent shape and I was winded every time I made it to my room. So, maybe ask for a lower level room when you make your reservation. Also, since we were so high up, we couldn't get the WiFi internet. We'd would end up walking down a few flights of stairs and sitting on the steps. But they also have common computer you can use downstairs. The breakfast was a great perk and delicious. this hotel did not live up to my expectations. staff were friendly, breakfast was nice. but the condition of the hotel was run down. also 52 stairs to my room, so not good for older/not so healthy people.

Quality friendly hotel where you are made to feel one of the family. All staff, without exception, were polite and put you first. An exceptionally well sited small hotel for the visitor to tour key historic sites. Would recommend.

This hotel is very convenient to Victoria Rail and Coach Stations but just off some of the main roads in the area so the traffic noise doesn't interfere with a good nights rest. The staff are very welcoming, efficient and informative. Our room was much more spacious than we expected for a city centre hotel. Loved my stay here, even (maybe especially) the wonky, off-kilter stairs to my room on the top floor. The staff, without exception, was courteous and extremely helpful. My wife and I just spent a week at the Windermere and enjoyed ourselves greatly. We are in our sixties and in good help so the lack of an elevator didnt bother us. I we had been infirm that may have become an issue. The staff was wonderful and the breakfasts were excellent. Room was good, well furnished and clean, a little small but perfectly adequate for our one night stay. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Only niggle was having to wait for 10 -15 minutes for a table for breakfast. We will be back for a longer stay soon!

こじんまりとして、とてもいい感じのホテルでした。大きなビクトリア駅に徒歩5分とほど近く、交通の利便性がよく、一人でビジネスで来ていた私には良かったと思います。周りには同じようなB&Bスタイルのホテルがたくさんありました。受付の方も親切で好感がもてました。 泊まった部屋は３階（英国の2nd floor）のシングルルームでしたが、エレベーターで３階まであがり、それから階段で0.5階下がりまた上がって到着という不思議な作り。部屋にはシャワールームとトイレ、洗面台がありました。部屋はきれいでした。それと夕方にハウスキーピングさんが来ます。英国の習慣なんでしょうか。 ひとつ気になった点は、部屋がなぜか少し傾いていました。それ故の安い料金設定だったのかなあ。または、かなり歴史ある建物なのかもしれません。

ottima posizione: a 300 metri da victoria station (comodo per il gatwick express) e neanche un chilometro a piedi da Buckingham Palace. Struttura piuttosto piccola e ci hanno assegnato una camera a piano terra: nessun problema di rumore perchè si tratta di zona residenziale e molto tranquilla. Very pleased with our stay! Good location, clean, calm, nice brakfast, friendly staff. Would return. Mycket nöjda med vår vistelse! Bra läge, fräscht rum, lugnt, rimligt pris och rejäl frukost inkluderad (såväl engelska korvar etc. som yoghurt, müsli och någon sötsak). När vi bad personalen rekommendera en indisk restaurang fick vi jättebra tips - […] trevliga och tillmötesgående. Det är kanske inte lyxigt men mysigt, familjärt, nyrenoverat och, som sagt, fräscht. Har tidigare bott på många dåliga ställen i London men hit skulle jag återvända! Nu var det jag och min sambo som åkte på minisemester men även barnen skulle jag kunna tänka mig att ta med hit. Vi var på hotellet fra onsdag til lørdag. Servicen var veldig god og frokost på samme nivå. Eneste som er å utsette på var at senga var veldig liten! Ellers kan vi godt tenke oss å overnatte der igjen!
