Super 8 Dickinson Nd - Dickinson

Unfortunately only had smoking rooms available, so I paid for the room and left. Drove 4 hours to find another room, but it was well worth it. I guess its my fault for being picky in an oil boom town!

A classic dump. I give people a lot of leeway typically (they're doing their best, working hard, etc) but not these guys. Teenager and then biker babe working front desk had zero bedside manner. We ran out of toilet paper early one morning and my girlfriend went down to get some toilet paper and the clerk (who wasn't at the front desk) snapped 'the […] cleaning lady will be there at 9:30!'. It was 7 in the morning. I suppose my girlfriend could have just held it, right? The overall property is dirty and needs a serious cleaning from top to bottom. Can it get worse? Funny you should ask. The city of Dickinson is going through a multi-year oil boom and this Super 8 is charging practically as much as much better hotels and they are constantly 100% booked (they can't build enough homes for the workers in the oil fields and the workers are in the hotels 24/7/365) so they're getting 100% revenue at a rate 50% to 100% higher than a typical Super 8. They have plenty of money to put back into their facility. We booked a non-smoking room but got a smoking room. The bed spread wasn't suspiciously gross it was visably stained. The blankets had square holes where there was some sort of stain and instead of replacing it they cut it out. Don't even waste your money or time staying at this dump. You will be totally disappointed in yourself for wasting money. Pay any extra nominal amount to stay somewhere else. Lisateave

We arrived at 1 P.M. and were told we couldn't check in until 3 as the room had not been cleaned. The young girl at the desk wore dirty clothes and made no attempt to be helpful. Although the room was moderately clean the entryways into the motel and hallways didn't apprear to have been cleaned in a long time. Forget what little breakfast they served, […] powdered donuts,dry cereal... We will not go back and would not have stayed had there been rooms available anywhere else in Dickinson that night. This motel needs a lot of TLC but isn't likely to get it in the current oil boom economy in this part of the country. In short, rooms are in high demand and room prices are indicative of the demand, not the quality of the property, and as long as people have to pay the prices, I suspect the property owner(s) is going to be reluctant to make necessary […] investments to keep up good appearances. I was lucky that Hotels.com representatives fought to get my reservation rec-established when the hotel tried to bump me in favor of higher prices. In short, if i could get a room somewhere else in the area, I would take it. Lisateave

Oil workers check in every night so make sure you make a reservation if you have to stay here. The overall condition of the hotel was old and dirty. The room had no baseboards -- the bathroom had a moldy tile over the shower. Breakfast was limited and in the lobby with 3 or 4 tables.We just needed a clean room for overnight. Would not recommend.

it was ok you can tell that it is in need of remodeling the bathroom especially above the shower I do like the sink inside the bathroom not in the hallway

Needs great improvement, the price could have been lower, and we would have canceled the room but we learned it had to be done like 2 days in advance so that didn't work out.

This is a decent hotel to stay in if all you intend to do is sleep there and watch a little TV. The price was definitely a large selling point. The room was acceptable, but the cloth shower curtain needed to be bleached or replaced, as it had stains that looked like mildew stains. The fixtures all worked fine,the water pressure was fine and there was […] plenty of hot water. The TV had more cable channels than the local university dorm room, which was a positive for our college age son. The air conditioning worked well enough to keep us comfortable, but the window did not open, so we had to use the air conditioning rather than getting fresh air. The location was fine. It is close to the highway, within two blocks of two or three restaurants and several gas stations, and about a mile from the university. The front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful, though not chipper or cheerful. Parking was plentiful, even later at night, though the back of the hotel has no street lights, so might not be great for women alone. The hotel will eventually need to replace the hall carpet and repaint, but that's probably why the price is what it is. All in all, it was a fine place to stay for the cost. Lisateave

Even though it was a smoke free room, the halls smelled smokey. The back door was not locked to the hotel. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful.

Our air conditioning did not work, when I called the front desk, the lady working night shift said there was nothing she could do about it, we did not go to sleep til about 3 AM because of this. There was blood on the toliet seat I assume from the previous person having their period, it was easily seen when the seat was lifted and should not have been […] missed during cleaning. The shower curtain was molded and the room was not clean over all it looks as if it had not been vacuumed in a while, we were also worried that the sheets had not been changed. The only thing I can say about this hotel was that it had beds and water. I spoke with the manager the next morning and she did not even appologize for our terrible night. Lisateave

Hotel was inexpensive....therefore did not expect much. Breakfast area was very small.
