RAMSIDE HALL HOTEL & GOLF CLUB - Durham

This is a bigger hotel than you'd expect with a adjacent golf course that seems popular with locals for the carvery and for weddings. It is not a remote country house hotel but you cannot walk to it from Durham city centre either as it's on the other side of the A1. We arrived early and they let us check in which was great. The staff overall were very […] good except for one surly girl working in the carvery area who clearly looked like she didn't want to be there. The carvery was surprisingly good - the meat wasn't dry as is often the case. Drinks were a little on the pricey side and I say that as a Londoner. The room and bathroom were excellent and of a high quality with Sky Sports 1 and 2 available. Location is ideal for Durham and the driving range is excellent value too. Lisateave

I arrived quite a late '22:00' and the hotel staff offered to get some food made for me. Unfortunately I had already eaten, but i'll remember that for next time. The beds are so comfortable and had a great nights sleep. I will definitely say at the hotel again.

hotel was very nice but we went for our anniversary book a meal in restaurant which was fantastic, we then went for a few drinks in the bar stood 12 minutes waiting for barman , then when we returned to our room about 9.30 only to find out a wedding do was going on outside our room the noise was that bad we could not here our tv. mannager said he could […] do nothing untill morning untill his manager came in.he offered to move us but this was after 10.pm when all we wanted to do was relax. i did get a phone call off dayshif manager saying he would offer me a room 1/2 price if i ever wanted to go back . so in a nut shell i had to go back and spend more money in all fairness they did not charge us for meal Lisateave

Nice hotel, nice staff, choice of Carvery or a la carte restaurants. Rooms well appointed, just off motorway but with that in mind it's convenient for Durham if you have your car or not too expensive a taxi. Would recommend it. Didnt try it, but apparently the wifi can be a bit problematical though think that are is a bit of a black spot so in wys maybe […] hard to criticise on that point. Lisateave

Really comfortable hotel and nicely decorated. Had Room Service which was slow. Had no internet connection on my visit and was palmed off with excuses. Shame really but I would give it another visit.

Very welcoming staff, clean rooms and excellent bathrooms - not a bit of mould in sight as is usual with some hotels. Good breakfast choice with something for everyone.

Just off the A1 and nearby to one of the park and ride site, makes an ideal base to visit Durham and the surrounding area.

Ramside Hall er velegnet for golfspillere men ligger et godt stykke fra Durham. Der er bus taet paa men hvis man skal vaere i Durham er det et stykke derfra.
