The beds were harder than I like and the rooms are nothing special but it was a nice place to stay. When we missed our flight to London and decided to stay in Ireland a second week, I was worried I would not find other accommodations I booked the 2nd week at the Pembroke. 24 hours later we decided to go to Killarney. Good location. parking ok, but a little hard to negotiate. Disappointing to have to pay for wifi... should be inclusive (they did gift me first session when I remarked with surprise that it was extra cost) No tea/coffee in rooms. have to go downstairs to get. Very meagre shampoo, soap etc in rooms should be better.

Used the hotel for a weekend break in Dublin. Nice Georgian building and good quiet room at back. 20 minutes walk from Trinity but a good bus service operates. We went out for breakfast. There are a number of restaurants close by.

This is a nice B&B but I didn't think there was value for the money. The relatively high cost per night to get a basement room (they call the basement Floor 1) with a view of the sidewalk (and gutter) on a smoking floor on what is a relatively busy (noisy) street semed unreasonable. They are not geared up for service (I gave them 1/2 hour notice for […] a cab to the airport and still had to wait an additional 15 minutes) and the staff (while very pleasant) is not that knowledgable about Dublin. It is a nice, quaint B&B (not aimed at business clientel, so I wouldn't stay here if on business) but not a great value. The breakfast is - as many here have raved - VERY good. Lisateave

The room was cramped with no comfortable chairs, small fuzzy old TV and the shower never ran really hot. Internet was charged which is not what you expect at a 4-star hotel. Had a fantastic stay at the Pembrooke, All staff very helpful, car parking at the back of town house which was really important for us. Lots of choice for breakfast, fast service fresh homebakes, Tea/Coffee facilitys in the lounge, not in your room but could get anytime day or night.

This townhouse was the most pleasant surprise. It's always scary booking a room on line, but I read all of the reviews and took a chance. It was w/in walking distance of the everything. It a very good part of town, very very happy with it all. We stayed two nights and would definitely recommend this place.

Seriously. Actually there are a lot of reasons to stay here but I've been all over the world and never had a morning spread like that. No wonder they print out recipes and put them on the sideboard because they must get asked for them all the time. The room was quite nice with very comfortable beds and a spacious clean bathroom that gave me one of the best showers I've ever had travelling (excellent water pressure is a beautiful thing). The price was very reasonable even with the euro to dollar conversion and though someone complained about the funky key, I thought it was fun and just left it with the front desk. Hotel personnel were very nice, and the room was fine (though it had the smallest and older - cathode ray - TV I have seen in a very long time). The place is a nice neighborhood but a little out of the way if you want to go to downtown.

Staff could have been friendlier when arriving by explaining breakfast room etc. Internet €15 for 24 hours and only one device could use it which was expensive and inadequate with 2 iPhones, a laptop and iPad amongst us.

We appreciated the nice reception after a long day of travel. The room was clean and well appointed, but very very small. We could barely walk around the bed- there was little room for our bags. We did like the loft area and for a pull out it was comfortable. I did think the price was fairly high for what we did get. The townhouse itself is part of the regular apartment houses on Pembroke Road which is a nice place to stay in Dublin. About 15-20 min walk to the city centre and the Temple Bar. Nice morning walk. This property is an excellent example of a fine, high quality independent hotel. Start with the keys, or rather the unique key fobs. The baths are up to international standards and sensibilities. The room had a small television mounted to the wall. Though people do not generally stay in hotels to watch the telly, a newer, larger flat panel TV would make the room perfect. The small and simple breakfast room belies the treats that await. The full breakfast is good. The continental breakfast is more than satisfactory. I am not positive, but it appears that all baked items are done so on premises. I am positive that they are excellent. The small larder off the lobby is the treat not to be missed. In a small tin at the end of the counter are cookies, or biscuits, as you prefer. They are light, buttery, sweet and absolutely irresistible. The neighborhoods adjoining this property are real Dublin, not tourist Dublin. Sit in the pubs and listen to sounds of Dubliners, not Americans on holiday. Be aware, the neighborhood does not open for business on Sunday until 10:00 AM. The hotel is in a mostly residential area and is only a few blocks from most of Dublin's attractions, although taxi's are easily hailed from the street. The Pembroke Townhouse was a quaint and well maintained hotel in a good area of Dublin. My fiance and I were attending a Concert at the O2 and this was the ideal place for an overnight stay. Lacks a bar which is a shame, but there are plenty nearby. Very clean and comfortable, and extremely reasonably priced.

We stayed for one night on a holiday weekend. The staff were very helpful and flexible. We made full use of the free and very convenient free parking so that we could walk (5 mins) to the train station nearby. Shower was excessively powerful and hard to control. Beds very comfortable. Overall a good choice.

This is a bed/breakfast accommation - not a 'hotel' . There is no bar, coffee shop or shopping. The rooms are adequate - however the initial room I was offered was totally unsatisfactory and I requested/obtained a more satisfacory room. The breakfast ( only meal available) is overpriced and non-descript - particularly the 'continentinal' - I have had […] better ( at no cost) in a Quality Motel. The staff - mainly non-Irish - were friendly and efficient. While Expedia has a 4 star rating for this 'hotel' - by North American standards I would rate it as 2+. The Bridgestone Hotel Guide recommends this 'hotel' as one of the top 100 places to stay in Ireland - I do not understand why? Lisateave
