VIK Hotel San Antonio - Tias

We were a party of three ladies on our annual holiday together. We really enjoyed the vik hotel. My room was initially overlooking the road at the front of the hotel with only a partial view of the sea. When I requested another room I was very happy with my full view of the sea from my balcony. The beach opposite is stony , rough and not suitable for […] swimming. Either taking the road right or left brings you to a choice of swimming beaches including the long playa de pocillos. Luckily you don't have to cross the road to access them.. Food was average quality. Not a great choice and the fluorescent lighting led to a poor atmosphere at night. However a lot of the clientele are elderly at this time of year so it maybe be too brightly lit for a reason!! The decor is very dated and could do with lick of paint but generally very clean.Entertainment at night was great. It started at around 18.30 and continued until the wee hours. Lots of live music to dance to and a lot of favourite numbers like elvis, abba,country etc. something for everyone.,.All in all the vik is good value for the price and guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. we stayed for one week in december. the weather was cloudy and windy, so one week was plenty to see the island and shop. the hotel very convenient for shops, resturants, taxi and bus service.lovely looking pools but never used them as they ere too cold- did complain twice and was told that they both were heated and to ask the pool maintenance to turn […] up temp and next time i was told 'it is december'. i suppose there are cutbacks everywhere! some of the reception and dining staff could do with a course in customer relations. the food was excellent and plenty of variety. This hotel lives up to all the previous positive comments and is worthy of its 4 star rating.Hardly anything to complain about.Definite revisit is a must

Super hotel --recently stayed for 1 week--buffet breakfast and dinner with great selections.Great location-on beach, taxi and bus service on doorstep Nightly entertainment-airconditioned room-would definitely go back or recommend.Would also recommend Hotels.com for any booking

We have just returned from a one week stay in the Hotel Vik San Antonio. We had a side sea view double room at half board rate. Although our stay was very enjoyable there are certainly areas that the hotel needs to improve. The hotel bedrooms are very dated. When we arrived to our room I was sure we were in the wrong section of the hotel. Our room was […] not of 4* standard. The green carpet was stained and the walls have old wallpaper that is also stained. The curtains and bedding are old fashioned floral pattern and are not very appealing. It is such a shame as the grounds and lobby/bar areas of the hotel are beautiful. The rooms need to be updated to clean modern designs as soon as possible. I have stayed in many 4* hotels in mainland Spain and in Ibiza and the rooms were of a much higher standard. Another huge issue that needs to be addressed is the very loud doorbells outside each bedroom. You should only be able to hear your own bell. Instead you can hear every bell on your corridor and above you. We were unfortunately placed in a room below people (with children I presume) that continuously rang the bell early every morning and afternoon. They would hold the bell down for periods of 2-3 mins straight with constant ringing. It meant no lie ins on this particular holiday! This was a constant problem from day one to the night we were packing up our things. They should disable all doorbells! I don’t see the need for them. If someone wants to get your attention they can knock on your bedroom door and you would hear them. One final issue was in the restaurant. The food was delicious and there was loads of variety. There is definitely something to suit everyone. However the staff hovers around as you eat waiting to take your plate and cutlery. You will have only finished your dish and it will be whipped away. It actually happened a few times where they took my plate before I was finished. It meant I found it hard to fully relax and I was on edge while eating as you are Lisateave

Overall we were quite pleased with the hotel. My wife and I flew into Lanzarote for four nights, wanted a comfortable hotel with a pool and airconditioning. The hotel's decor is a little dated, but clean and functional. The staff were friendly and helpful in both reception and dining room. Our room wasn't the biggest we have stayed in, but clean and […] we had a balcony overlooking the sea which was great. The hotel is by the sea so you can hear the tide from your room. The buffet breakfast was very nice, alot to choose from, we could not fault it. We paid for half board, and we ended up eating dinner in hotel for all four nights, even though we meant to have dinner in town for one or two of the nights. The location was at the edge of the new town of porto del carmen, on the airport side, which was a good thing as it encouraged us to walk more. If we got lazy, taxis were inexpensive and cost about €3/€4 to take us to old town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Lisateave

The location was the best part of the hotel, it is right off of the beach, and there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. The bus goes to a few locations, and in particular to Arrecife. There is a market nearby and plenty of tourist type shops as well. It is a short time from the airport as well. I had the breakfast, but was not throughly thrilled […] with it. The food was not great, and as for the wifi, I couldn't get it to work, there was not a consistent signal. The bottom line is that I expected more from a four star hotel, so I would not recommend this hotel for anyone expecting a luxurious four star experience. Lisateave

Just back from a week H/B in the San Antonio. Hotel is excellent. Pools were great and water was warm.Dinner was superb.. great choice every night. Breakfast was also good with a full choice of fruits ,cereals, Hot Food and breads,etc. There were plenty of sunbeads and hotel is also right on the beach. I stayed here with my teenage daughter, The food was excellent especially the breakfast. The evening show every night was very entertaining. We will return to this hotel in the future! This hotel had been recommended by many of our friends, we can now see why. well done to the staff and management. We had a really great stay.

This hotel is more suited to an older age group. We are in our mid fifties and would say we were the youngest there. That said it has every facility you could possibly need and the evening entertainment was fantastic. Where the hotel is somewhat dated it is comfortable and clean. We did half board and changed dinner to lunch after one night as we did'nt […] feel the dinner menu was much different to the lunch menu. You just need to give them notice the night before that you won't be having dinner the following night and would like to change to lunch. Lisateave

really enjoyed stay. hotel , staff very friendly. food was excellent and a great choice every night. average age group 70 ish but great irish bar across the road with very good entertainement.

This is a pleasant hotel with a nice unhurried atmosphere ideal for total relaxation and it afforded a great opportunity to recover from the effects of a very cold winter in Ireland. New Years Eve was wonderful and we give full marks for the great and happy celebration of which we were part. The dinner and entertainment were of a really high standard […] and we are delighted with our decision to be there on that night. The fireworks were excellent .Unfortunately we missed the significance of the 12 grapes it not being a custom we had heard of!! And it seems we were lucky to have them as there was a shortage in other parts of the world !! On other nights we also enjoyed the entertainment and we would especially like to mention the Chinese show which was different and interesting. The hotel is fortunate to have such an enthusiastic director of activities who managed to get us off the sunbeds and into the pool for aerobics. This in spite of the fact that we found the pool VERY cold although it was warm on the first few days. we hope to visit this hotel again when the purses are replenished as it really good value into the bargain. My partner and I (both in our 60s) found the hotel to be good value for money - bright, clean with a nice pool area. We found the fact that there was a charge for the use of the fridge a little strange but perhaps that is usual on sun holidays. The breakfast fare and location were good. The evening show failed to excite .. . very amateurish on the evenings […] we dropped in for a nightcap. All in all, value for money and a pleasant, friendly location. Lisateave

Would diff recommend this hotel, the staff were very helpful, they made the holiday when we were around the hotel, the food was lovely and plenty of it. when we did go off siteseeing the hotel location was great, near the bus stop, taxi stop and the local shops, the walk along the beach from the hotel was fab. Will be going back again in Sept we are […] so happy with it . The only thing i would say is if you are putting 2 adults and 1 child into a room, make sure its a family room. Lisateave

This was our third visit to the hotel. We liked the fact that it is on the beach with direct access to the sea. The food was lovely and hotel clean . This hotel is within walking distance of the town surrounding shops and bars.

Det er vårt 2.besøk på dette hotellet (og vi vil trolig komme igjen). Det ligger fantastisk til helt nede ved sjøen, og i starten av byen Puerto del Carmen. Resepsjonen tar deg vennlig i mot. Vi hadde bestilt rom med sjøutsikt, men har en fornemmelse at det var sideutsikt vi fikk. Begynner å bli litt slitt, og mødler skiftes ut gradvis og blir derved […] ikke likt. Vi var til de grader misfornøyd med barkeeper. En nonchalant kar som aldri så på deg ved bestilling og aldri besvarte dine "tusen takk". Han trakk utrolig ned. Men, så gikk han tydeligvis av vakt og ble erstattet med en 100% serviceminded kelner. Lisateave

Nous avons passé un très bon séjours en falmille, l'hôtel étant bien situé et propsant diverses activités comme le tennis, mes enfants se sont beaucoup amusés. De plus, le personnel et la restauration sont impeccables. Seul bémol, la moyenne d'âge est très élevée, alors pour une petite virée entre amis, il faut oublier!

Un bon hôtel, très bien situé, avec un personnel très accueillant. Je recommande fortement pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis

Hôtel très agréable bien que lors de notre séjour il manquait un peu de jeunesse ! Cependant les jeunes peuvent s'amuser à proximité donc cela n'a pas été un gros handicap.

Hotellet ligger flott til ca. 10 minutter med taxi fra flyplassen, rett før Puerto Del Carmen. En kjempe av et hotell. Bra vedlikehold, og vi hadde bestilt, og fått, med havutsikt. Ingen vei mellom rommet og havet. Vi hadde inkludert frokost, og den var utrolig bra, her var alt. Det som trekker hotellet skikkelig ned er de ansatte i resepsjonen og i […] særdeleshet baren. Hver gang jeg hadde noe med disse 2 steder å gjøre, var de alltid opptatt av andre interne saker, og du måtte pent vente til de mente det var tid for deg. Selv da var det liten/ingen øyekontakt, ikke et smil. Dette står imidlertid i sterk kontrast til rengjøringspersonalet på rommene. Solstråler. Lisateave
