This stay started out being one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The rooms that I was offered didn't look anything like the pictures advertised. I was shown 2 studios that was equally as bad. They had old bubble back televisons and the furniture was very damaged. The front desk was very rude and refused to let us speak with a manager in the […] beginning. Needless to say it took us 2 hours to get checked in after finally speaking with a manager (which was nice and helpful). We were advised that the rooms on the internet are upgrades and booking through any site besides theirs, you get a standard room. In the end we did get a room that was acceptable. Lisateave

I love this hotel. I feel like a own an apartment in Miami. The locations is great and there are very good places to eat within walking distance. You can ride the Metro (free) to the downtown and Bayside are. The metro station is right across the street.

I did not have time to enjoy the amenities but, all in all, it was a comfortable place to stay. I also got an upgrade with an excellent view of the bay.

I will definetley stay here again if I'm ever in that area. Great view, housekeeping came regularly, and staff was very friendly! Amenities were a plus.

It was a basic outdated condo/ hotel. I was disappointed that they only had one washcloth! When I called to ask for another I was told that they would not have any clean ones until 2a.m. I'm sure this was a condo unit that someone owns and decided to rent out to vacationers! Pretty good value for the $$$. Lots of space in our apartment but the bed configuration was not what we had reserved. We reserved a 1 queen and 2 twins. I even called the hotel directly to confirm that and was told absolutely no problem...but it was not what we got. We got 2 beds that were not even queen size...and they sent a cot that noone could sleep […] in and the couch was worse!! But for 1 night we made do! Lisateave

Walking distance to Brickrll night life and some other amazing hotel bars and great resturants. Not a bad cab ride to coconut grove, coral gables or key biscayne

Stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath "condo" upon returning from a cruise. Space was great for our family of 5. Finishes were cheap and could use a good cleaning, but for one night it was more than adequate. Walls are thin and probably wouldn't stay for more than a night or two...too noisy. The two queen beds pretty much sucked, for lack of a better word.

Charged for valet twice when all I did was retrieve a couple of items from my car myself. And valet drove cars like he was racing.

I am very happy with my 3days' stay with Fortune House. The complimetary breakfast is great. The price is reasonable in such a convenient downtown location. I will stay there again if I come back to Miami next time.

The room looks nothing like what features on hotels.com website. The bed was very uncomfortable.. Everything was old: furniture, TVs, carpet (white turned blackish in bedroom), blinds, paint stains on the bathroom floor, very loud AC. It is by no means a 3 1/2 stars hotel.

We recently spent two nights at Fortune house before leaving on a cruise. The hotel is located in downtown Miami so there is quite a bit of traffic to contend with but the views from the balcony are fantastic!! The staff were friendly and helpful and even upgraded us to a 2 room suite at no charge .Please be aware that this is a condominium style hotel […] so there are very few amenities in the hotel itself.There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance and grocery stores ect.. fairly close by. From the outside a very nice hotel, staff were very good. We had a suite which desperately needed redcorating and looked very tired. In the bathroom the enamel was coming off the bath. We used the room service to order food which was good.The breakfast was a buffet and wasn't great we should have just had room service again.

Room wasn't ready until after 4pm. Booked 2 bedroom suites. Rooms didn't have number if beds as stated. Rooms is old and out dated. Phone didn't work so had to go down to front desk. Eventually was changed to different one. Much more updated but sofa bed was broken. Again phone didn't work. So had to again go down to front desk. Send someone up to help […] but he could get it open either. He said he will sent maintenance up in about 10 minutes. So waited and waited after about 40 mins went down again. Front desk said maintenance is off. Thanks for telling me. Then sent the same guy up with me again to try again. So by about midnight decide that they going to give me rollway. Lisateave

It was a utilitarian stay. Had what I needed and more space than I needed. All worked just fine. Location is good. Lots of dinner options nearby. Staff was good too. It works, simply said.

Staff was pleasant. The room was bland, had a dishwasher- no detergent. Had washer & dryer again no detergent not even upon request. Had the firmest (hardest) mattress ever, but I did sleep remarkably well. I would stay again my husband ( a general contractor) wouldn't.

No real problems. No big surprises in terms of additional costs at checkout that others have mentioned in their reviews. The facilities were ok although the rooms themselves were a bit spartan. We chose the hotel because the location was near to the Port of Miami since we were there for a cruise. But the neighborhood was limited in terms of things you […] can do with small kids. Family restaurant options in the area were limited. If I had been there by myself or just with my wife, there were plenty of good dining options and bars in the neighborhood. Overall, I would probably have rated everything about 3 1/2 stars for most of the amenities but the rating system doesn't allow me to give half stars so I rounded down on everything. Overall, it was an ok choice with a good price for a suite with two bedrooms. But it was not great. Lisateave

This hotel is amazing from the outside and has a very modern and clean lobby with a great bar and staff. The room was horrible, old ,and desperately needed to be remodeled. They clearly had false advertising on their website and it was very expensive for what it was.

The hotel was in a great location, right in the heart of Miami's business sector. The neighborhood seemed very safe. Our suite was clean and spacious but, had an unpleasant smell in one of the bedrooms. The hotel adds on a few other fees - hotel service charge ($10), and valet ($20). We stayed 2 nights. We are ex Miamians so we know the town. This hotel is in an area of high rises and the center of the financial district of Miami. We liked the convenience of a 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen. Breakfast was hectic but one of the best "free" breakfasts! real cooked food and fresh juice. Modern building that sells condo units for […] people to rent as hotel units. The finish in the room, including the analog tvs was super cheap but the convenience of the layout won the day. Clean and comfortable Room was very clean and very stark . Everything was decorated in Black and White. Our luggage did not make the plane with us..Airline and Delivery service was very efficient in getting it back to us the next day...the breakdown in communication happened in the hotel...no one knew where our luggage was and we asked several times […] if it was there...Front desk did not communicate with valet , bell hop, night service manager or with Security...We got a run around and no one ever called our room to tell us our luggage was there ...They were going to send it back when we had finally inquired for the 3rd t ime. We had a terrible time finding it. When we finally did, the key did not fit the door...they tried three different sets, then said they would call maintenance. We finally insisted on another room, so they upgraded us to the penthouse, which we were excited about. The sink was stopped up and the curtain to the balcony was filthy. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful but we found the restaurant servers a bit rude and ignored us. As for the cleanliness of the hotel the hallway was dirty. Big stains in the carpet. Our room needed vacuuming and we were always short on towels. One of our beds was barely holding together. Our room was cleaned later in the day around 5 or […] 6 o'clock. Good place to stay. Room was very large but also quite plain. Can't complain though it was a good value in a great location. Breakfast, which was included, was excellent. They also had a nice fitness center.

We really enjoyed the stayed and the staff was friendly and great. We would definitely consider to stay here again next time we come out to Miami. The only thing we were a little discourage with was the maid service every time we requested a few extra towels but they did good making beds and cleaning the rooms.

Not a bad choice if you are on a budget. On the positive side, great service in general from the staff, large suite with wonderful kitchen and a nice downtown location. Less great were the low end towels, linens and TVs. Also, although wifi was promised, it never worked in my room. Even when I complained about it, nothing was done.
