Did the Pittsburgh Marathon. It was very convenient to the start and finish lines. The Staff were cordial and congratulatory. I liked the convenience of the downtown Pittsburgh area being right outside the door. Overall it is a little pricey for a room with no refrigerator . The bed was very comfortable but the TV remote did not function correctly. […] Outside hallways need more lighting. Overall I will stay here again based upon the location and the ease of getting around Pittsburgh. Lisateave

Even though the room was fairly small, and the view was a vent/heating unit on the building next door, it was an easy walk to the Convention Center (which is why I picked it), and it's a beautifully restored "old" hotel. I would have preferred smaller portions with room service (what a waste), I didn't notice any recycling for newspapers, bottles, etc, […] and the bed was not even close to being a "King Size". I am only 5 foot 6 inches tall, my feet shouldn't have been on the edge of the bed....and they were. Lisateave

Our stay at the Renaissance Hote in Pittsburgh was excellent. The only negative was a couple with a crying baby next to our room. Always wonder why those folks are not at the end of the hall.

The Renaissance is a great historic facility which is upgraded to all modern business amenities. The location and views are fantastic and although it does not include integrated parking, a 6 story garage is directly across the street on 6th avenue. Staff was attentive and friendly (genuinely). Great hotel. only spent one day but was great. Ron the door man was awesome. Only one of the male receptionist wasn't as friendly. the hotel is very pretty and convenient to everywhere. All in all would highly recommend.

This hotel is not worth the money. The room was a large shoe box and the "city view" was a run down building and the top of a parking garage. The staff was very confused when asked any questions about the city.

We walked around the corner to the theater. Choice of five theaters in the Cultural District. Hotel is on the river. Must see the Strip district on the weekends. The hotel has recently been renovated while retaining the touches of yesterday.

Went to a Pirate game, which was a beautiful walk across the bridge. The check-in staff was friendly, room was really large and had a super comfy bed. Bathroom was large as well and very clean. Will definitely stay here again!!

The outside view and architecture of the hotel is alluring. Upon entering the lobby I was very impressed with the decor and architecture as well as the staff. The first room I was given had double beds and the view consisted of the other side of the hotel and archway (I paid for a king/queen with a city view.) A little disappointing and not up to a four star level, especially for a Renaissance. First, the front desk refused to print boarding passes for me (never happened before to me) and referred me to the tiny business center to do so. The business center had only only two computer stations that were both in use. I had to wait while both users were deeply […] involved with their Facebook pages. After one of them was done with Facebook, she mistakenly pressed her "print boarding passes" button numerous times, causing the sole printer (very slow) to print endless copies of her boarding passes. I called the front desk to have someone come up to purge the printer, but no one arrived. Luckily, I was not in a rush to get to the ariport. Second, the wi fi internet service, although complimentary, was sometimes spotty. If the hotel were to fix these issues, it could be up to a four star level. Lisateave

The hotel lobby is incredible, so I expected the room to be just as opulent and it was not. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Our view was of a rooftop and a run-down old building. After driving in to Pittsburgh for 4 hours, we were met by a very friendly and polite valet, but the front desk person Erin, was quite rude and overall very unpleasent to deal with. For the remainder of our stay we did encounter a host of other staff who were very nice. The only problem was upon leaving the original valet who parked our car didnt remove […] the key correctly which ended up draining our car battery. The new valet was very unapologetic and tried to say that we were out of gas!!!! Upon further review another super staff person showed up and offered her own car (I didnt get her name unfortunately) to give us a jump. The location of this hotel is pheonom!!! The ambieance is incredible. If the service was more consistant this would be the perfect home away from home. Lisateave

My only complaint was when I arrived I tried to ask the valet where I should leave my truck and the kid waved at me and then turned and walked away!!! Everyone else was really nice and friendly that I dealt with.

Booked for our 25th wedding aniversary for a king size city view room and got wht my husband termed "a janitors closet" with no view. Inquiring at the front desk they told us our booking included a room preference, not a guaranty.

I appreciated the people who waited on us when we arrived. The room was not ready yet, and we needed to go and not wait the 30min it would take. So they took our luggage and then they brought it up to our room after logging us in. When we came back they had the keys ready for us. It was great to be treated like you would expect to be treated.

Love this hotel. So close & convinient to all of Pittsburgh. Staff is always so nice & helpful. Plus we just mentioned it was our anniversary & they sent up FREE champagne & strawberries! Great food @ the restaurant inside. No complaints. Will stay there time & time again.

In town for a PNC Park visit, this hotel is just across the bridge from the game. Walk to the park in 5 minutes across the Clemente Bridge, which is closed to traffic several hours before the game. Our room was spacious, with a view of the park. Check in was a breeze, we booked through hotels.com. Parking was also quick and convenient with in and out […] privileges. We would definitely stay again. Plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance, Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and the Renaissance is a great location for visiting the whole city. More than I wanted to spend for a night, but it was so convenient to our event. The room was very tiny. The bed was very comfortable, but too soft if you have a bad back(found that out). Was supposed to have a robe to use, did not. Enjoyed walking around PNC Park and the river before our concert. We did enjoy our stay in Pittsburgh.

Great location! Walk a couple of blocks over the river & you're right at the baseball park, football stadium & restaurants. A couple of blocks the other way & you're in Market Square with several restaurants and bars.

Really nice hotel. Staff communication needs improving. The hotel operator does not always pass on your car request to the valet (and will not connect you directly). Came back at 6:00PM to a room that hadn't been serviced. How is that happening in a four-star hotel? BUT--the rooms are nice, if a bit small, and the river views and location are tough […] to beat. Oh - where do I begin....? I have stayed at another Renaissance Hotel - in Portsmouth VA - and is the level of hotel I expected. I was very disappointed! This was a birthday trip for my mother from myself, brother, sister & niece. We wanted the stay to be special and chose the Renaissance for that reason. The building is historical but is very frayed […] around the edges. Not kept up well, the "grand" staircase in the photo online is not all that grand! I did not find the staff helpful, amenities (soap, towels,etc.) not very plentiful, hotel decor is very tired and sad, our room had old, mismatched furniture. The reservation was for 2 adults, but only one robe was provided (again .. stingie). While looking for the ice machine, I opened a door to the stairway - there was a toilet brush was laying in the floor! We parked across the street in a parking garage and when we crossed the street and walked toward the front door of the hotel, the porter standing on the sidewalk made no effort to greet us or assist us with our bags. The only good things I can say about this hotel is the bed was extremely comfortable, most of the time there were employees that held the door open for us, and it was very convenient to Heintz Hall. Not at all worth the price!! I usually stay at Hampton Inns and will do so in the future - if we had stayed at one in downtown Pittsburgh, at least we would have gotten breakfast included with our stay!! Lisateave
