AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN - Mariposa

The room was clean and the quality of the bed was OK. Good restaurant (Savoury's) 2 minutes away by foot as well as a good breakfast place.

This was a quick stay for just one night (total time 10 hours in the hotel room) and we found it to be clean and functional. Better than other similar hotels also found in center tourist locations. Good value for the price.

Owner was very helpful and provided lots of good information about the national park.

Nice and peacefull motel near the Yosemite, we liked our stay.

The room as very spacious, especially considering we had 2 Queen size beds. Clean and all staff members were very friendly. The only drawback was our mattress needed to be flipped-the center was lower so we rolled toward each other during the night.

Lovely Girls at Reception friendly town and super clean rooms. Good Value for the money paid.

For the price it was a nice hotel. The mattresses seemed a little old, but the room was nice and clean. The bathroom, toilet and shower were in good working order as was the refrigerator located inside the room. I would definitely consider staying here again.

It is located in nice neighborhood of Mariposa. it is about 45 minutes to Gate of Yosemite (and, maybe another 45 minutes to Yosemite Visitor Center) If you plan to stay for visiting Yosemite at least 3 days, I would say you may have to consider pros and cons.

Excellent, for a 2-star hotel. It actually exceeded my expectations for a 2-star. We arrived late, but the office was open and the staff member was very friendly. On hearing that it was our first visit to Yosemite, he proceeded to give a long, entertaining and informative narrative of what to see, where to go, and a bunch of "insider" info that I did […] not find in any guidebook. Made us feel at home, and at the same time feel that we are really visiting something awesome. This was an unexpected pleasant surprise, never got this at any other hotel. The room itself was large and nice. The only slight complaints are the room was kinda cold when we got there (it was early October), parking was a bit limited (we got the last available spot), and the shower pressure was a little low (but adequate). Beds were OK, comfortable (we did not have any problems with sleep). Room came with a small fridge and a microwave. The area is very nice and scenic. Bunch of stores, gas stations and eateries nearby. Trees and mountains all around. Absolutely loved the place. Lisateave

Very nice hotel close to Yosemite park very nice located.

Good clean room at a reasonable price, easy to get to Yosemite valley with the exception of the one lane bridge you might have to wait at.

Strange smell in our room, the quality/price rate is poor.

The Good: The motel is probably one of the nicer ones in Mariposa. The place was quiet, the staff was nice, and the room was huge. The Bad: The beds were old and uncomfy, and the shower was a slight trickle. The worst part is that the whole town of Mariposa shuts down at 8pm, and the drive to Yosemite is cumbersome, an hour (2 hours round trip).

Nice small motel located within walking distance to restuarants.Lighting is dim inside..low wattage bulbs.. bathroom is fine but floor can get cold. Mattresses need to be updated as they are old , springs worn. staff is very friendly nice location. heater works great. Could use heavier quilts in the winter. Bring blankets if you dont plan on using the […] heater all night. BTW it can get noisy if u use it at night. bathroom has been remodeled looks nice.. carpet is old... no odors though..quiet location..all we could hear is the room heater..Tv works well... about 1 hr 10min from Yosemite Valley... about 1 hr from Mariposa Grove.. Great location, only 30+ minutes from Yosemite Valley. They allow pets and we brought our dog. Room was very clean, staff friendly. Except for a smoke filled lobby at check-in, the place was great.

We seldom stay in motels, so we are rather inexperienced in evaluating them. However, there is one aspect we have found in the years of motel stays which we think should be addressed by all motels. This comment is especially appropriate for winter time where the temperature outside is quite cold. The temperature of the room is simply nearly always difficult […] to set at an appropriate temperature, making it necessary to change the settings several times during the night. This, in combination with the need for more blankets makes the stay less that what we would like to experience for a good night's sleep. We are used to a cool bedroom but lots of blankets. I think our best solution is to try to bring extras with us so as to avoid the problem of trying to get extra blankets from the motel. I suppose we could have requested extra blankets, but we just didn't do it. Lisateave

This hotel is just like regular motels. It has only 2 floors of rooms, no elvators. The location is very convenient and it has 2 small plaza nearby within 3 mintus drive. It is a small town but got plenty of restaursnts (though mostly pizza). Only 3 local supermarkets available so don't expect to get some fancy stuff. A tourist center is nearby and […] the lady is very helpful, don't forget to go visit her, you will get a lot of information no matter dining or visiting Yosemite. Enough for surrounding environment. Let's talk about the room itself. The room is DARK. Though it got 3 lights yet still dark. Air condition/heater works very well, but very loud, be sure you could fall asleep at night with machine noise. The wall is thin so you might hear a little bit noise from next door, but don't worry, once you turn the heater on, you will NOT hear anything other than that machine! The bathroom is bright & has a heater, which make me really happy since it's pretty cold at night. However, the shower head is adjustable but not moveable, and the shelf for soap & shampoo are WAY TOO HIGHT so it's very difficult to reach it! You could only put your shampoo & soap on the floor when you take a shower. By the way, there is no bathtub. Only a shower curtin and that makes your shower space dark. They do provide soap, shampoo & body lotion, and I like the scent a lot! They do provide free internet access, which is good too! Don't worry about the breakfast, you've got plenty restaurants outside to try. Lisateave

We arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. Check in and out without problems. Clean room, cosy bed, friendly staff. Best value for money.

The hotel lobby and room were extremely clean. They had re-tiled the bathroom and put new fixtures in, which was a nice surprise. The bed and room were simply decorated, but comfortable. We thought the room was an extremely good value for the price, and very close to Yosemite's west entrance. It was a much better value than some of the hotels closer […] or in the park. The town of Mariposa was quaint and clean. There were several good and reasonably priced restaurants nearby to choose from. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The only difficulty we had was finding the hotel at night. It was right on Hwy 140, but the sign said 'Mariposa Lodge' and only upon close inspection did it say America's Best Value Inn. Lisateave

The location is very convenient to good restaurants and shops. The desk clerk was kind and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. The fan in the bathroom was loud and should be looked at. It didn't seem normal for it to vibrate and rattle like it did. Rm 109.

It was an alright place to stay for a night or two on the way to Yosemite, but I probably wouldn't stay here again. Mariposa's tiny, about an hour from an entry point, and the motel's pretty dated with the exception of the bathroom, which look like it'd been updated recently. Oakhurst is bigger with more places to eat, and it's closer to a park ent […] rance. Lisateave

Clean hotel, not far away from Yosemite, and price is not bad. It's a good option when you had to stay out side of the park

Wir hatten dieses Motel als Zwischenstation auf unserm Weg zum Yosemite NP gebucht. Der Service war freundlich und die Anlage dem üblichen Standadr entsprechend gepflegt. Das Zimmer war sauber und ebenfalls dem Standard entsprechend eingerichte mit Klima, Kaffeemaschiene und TV. Leider ist kein Frühstück im Angebot vorgesehen, trotzdem können dieses […] Motel jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Lisateave

Hotel is prima lokatie voor korte reisafstand naar Yosemite en Sequoia Park. Mariposa is een leuk dorpje gelegen in een prachtig natuurgebied aan de voet van het prachtige Yosemite park. Hotel is een aanrader, een niet al te grote Inn, auto voor de hotelkamer en prima kamer.
