Swissotel Sydney - Sydney

Stayed at Swissotel for one night (20/7/11-21/7/11). The concierge were fabulous! Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were very polite and helpful. The lobby was beautiful and very comfortable. The standard room I booked was ok, certainly not that of a 5 star hotel. The 'beachy/sandy' colour scheme reminded me of Queensland hotels. It wasn't very […] luxurious. I iron 'everything' and the iron and ironing board in the room was the biggest disappointment. Both were extremely old and need to be updated. The location of the hotel was the ultimate. It was right where all the action is. Had dinner at the Sydney Revolving Buffet which was a 2min walk away which was very convenient. Being around the corner from the beautiful QVBuilding and also a 5min walk to St James Station also was very convenient. Breakfast buffet was ok. For the $$ paid, the selection could have been greater. Overall had a great stay. Would rate it as a 4-4.5 star though. Would definitely stay there again for the exceptional service and location. Staying in the centre of Sydney in a very comfortable hotel certainly made our trip to Sydney a real pleasure. The Swissotel in Market St, Sydney was in easy walking distance to Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Circular Quay and many of the attractions of Sydney. It was unfortunate that we were unable to try the jpb restaurant as it was closed during Easter. […] Otherwise, the accommodation was very good, and the staff were both courteous and helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Swissotel. The location was pretty good. We could easily walk down to Darling Harbor, the monorail was close by and plenty of things to do and see. The service was terrific and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I would happily stay there again.

This hotel is located next to/above the Myer store in Sydney CBD. Don't let this put you off - the reception is on the 8th Floor and the rooms are on the floors above that. The hotel is close to the CBD shopping area and is only a few minutes walk to Darling Harbour. It is a bit of a walk to Circular Quay (about 20 minutes) if you aren't in the mood. […] However the No.555 free city bus stops just around the corner in George Street and that will have you there in just a few minutes. You can hop on or off this bus any time you like. Buses and taxis are close to the hotel and are so plentiful you shouldn't have a problem getting anywhere from your hotel and back. The hotel itself is clean, modern and well maintained. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and the bar/lounge opposite the reception area stayed open until midnight so it was great to have a late night drink if you had returned from an evening out. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere that is close to Darling Harbour and the CBD shops. Lisateave

We were given a lovely corner room on 23rd floor so great views. Very comfortable, clean and convenient. We walked to Opera House to see a show, Hyde Park, Darling Harbour for dinner and Pitt Street Mall. Bar and dining were expensive and limited so didn't dine in hotel. Had to park car in Secure parking 4 blocks away as no onsite parking. Reception […] is on the 8th floor so have to change lifts to access room. Great location close to Darling Harbour with all its restaurants and to fantastic shopping! Very comfortable stay,,great service and quiet despite its central location. Recommend!!!!

We booked the Swissotel for a girls weekend away. The location was perfect and very convenient for all we wanted to do. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We would recommend it to anyone needing a central location in Sydney and would be more than happy to stay there again.

Everything about this hotel was great - from the staff to the location to the rooms to the lovely bar in the lobby. The only problem we had was that there is a construction site right beside the hotel and unfortunately our room was on that side. They worked literally 24/7 - right through the weekend - and we had to deal with containers being moved at […] 3am and jackhammers at 7am. Not the most restful of holidays! I'd absolutely recommend this hotel once the construction is finished! If not, ask for a room on the other side of the hotel - it may be less noisy! Lisateave

Overall - this was the best hotel experience! The facilities were fantastic, the staff very helpful. We were able to secure a late check out free of charge, along with an early check in. The fridge was a bit too small, next time will opt for a room with kitchen facilities, but aside from that everything was fantastic! The Hotel is ideally situated. I think the furnishings are getting a bit old and dirty, the hotel could do with a refurb, however, I think the staff do a great job in maintaining everything. The only disappointment of our stay was the service in the Crossroads Bar on both evenings we had difficulty getting service - was it because we were 2 women??? […] Staff in all other areas were most helpful. The hotel was very clean and really convenient for getting around the city. The only downside was that it seemed to be noisy at night from outside traffic. Everything else was more or less as expected.

Close to everything you want to see within walking distance

Great location,clean comfotable room,quiet for being in a busy area,let me check in at 8am b/c I was on an early flight,nice bar,staff was courteous,would stay there again

My husband and I stayed for the first 6 nights of our Sydney trip at the Swissotel. This is an awesome hotel! The location is very central with an easy walk to Circular Quay, the Opera House, museums, not to mention bars, shopping and tons of restaurants. The room was very comfortable and modern. I have a hard time sleeping without a fan noise in the background so we called concierge and they somehow dug up a small fan for me to keep in the room during our stay. That's service! Lisateave

Great quality hotel for the price we paid. There were cheaper places listed but we're happy we stayed here. Hotel staff was very helpful with travel arrangements around the city.

The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating upon arrival. The room was very modern and had plenty of space. The bathroom was also very nice and was great for the five nights in Sydney. The hotel was right next to the QVB, which was great for shopping, but there were not many restaurants in close proximity. However, the underground was only a […] block away which made it very convenient to get anywhere else in the city. Overall it was a very nice stay and we would recommend it to anyone. Lisateave

A great location in Sydney as you can walk to many of the tourist sites. We had the breakfast included and it was very nice. Were there for nine nights so the got to know us in the breakfast room and would bring us extra's such as there great cheese selection for breakfast. We would stay there on a return trip to Sydney.

Location is ideal for walking to various venue. Wash basin drained very slowly and was not satisfactorly corrected. Need to keep valuables in safe box

This is a lovely hotel. Excellent staff, realy nice rooms and an excellent location for shopping. However, there is a significant amount of early morning building work next door which woke us up far too early (one morning steelwork deliveries seemed to start around 6am). We received a great rate at this hotel through hotels.com, so staying here was pretty much a no-brainer. The location is fantastic ,if what you want to see are all the museums and touristy sites. Since it's located between subway stops, you will probably find that walking or taking a bus is your best option. The CBD is very compact, similar to San Francisco, […] so walking isn't much of a problem. Our biggest surprise in Sydney was the cost of....well, about everything. The breakfast buffet is $30 at the Swissotel. They do offer a 20% off cupon on the full breakfast, so be sure you ask for enough to cover your stay. A family of four will spend $96 a day for breakfast. There are other breakfast options in the area (Silks, VellaNero, or the QVB) that will help you cut that down, but don't expect to get off for less than $15 a person. Lunches and dinners.....well, the price goes up from here. The Swissotel charges $25 a day, or $99 for a week. Finally, if a fitness room is important to you, look elsewhere. For a hotel this size, two treadmills (one was inoperable for a week of our stay) and a set of dumbells just isn't enough. There were people waiting for up to an hour to use the equipment, everyday. All in all a great place to stay if location is your most important need and you don't eat breakfast or workouot. Lisateave

We enjoyed this hotel very much. A great location, as you can walk to all the tourist spots in 25 minutes or less. The staff could not have been any more helpful.

We stayed at Swisshotel for 9 nights during out honeymoon to Australia. We focused our stay on Sydney so the hotel was centrally located to most major attractions. We walked virtually everywhere we went in just 10-15 minutes. The price was definitely right compared to similarly ranked hotels. Be careful making local calls to a cell phone as in Australia […] they are charged at long distance rates, better off using a calling card with local number. Also there is no complimentary tea and coffee beyond the first night, after that it gets quite pricey to run the coffee maker, better to go down to the local food court for a cup of joe. We did not try the on-site restaurant but did have a cup of tea in the Crossroads bar. Tea is tea. Room service food was passable but given the prices you should get better food. But they do have gluten-free items on the menu which for anyone who is celiac or gluten-sensitive this is a nice touch. Overall the stay there was nice and the service friendly and helpful. While the exterior of the entrance did not generate expectations of a good hotel, the moment we crossed the threshold everything became wonderful, from the service to the room with a view. The only downsides were the construction going on in the area, couldn't hear it just had to walk past it; and the lack of knowledge/experience at the conceriege […] desk about restaurants in the area and in Sydney other than chain restaurants. Other than this, the bellhops and conceriege desk provided excellent services. Lisateave

朝食が値段の割に貧相でした。２クラス下のランクのホテルの朝食並みで、正直がっかりでした。また、ホテルが改装中であり、ビジネスセンターの利用ができず不便でした。（その代わりにエグゼクティブラウンジの設備を利用させてもらえましたが、ＰＣ２台にプリンター１台のみでした。）それ以外の点は、立地も良く、部屋も広く、ホテルのクラスの割にはコインランドリーもあり、長期の滞在には便利なホテルとの印象を受けました。

ホテルのレストランを利用しようと思ったが、ルーム内にホテル各階を紹介するパンフレットがなく、食事をしようと思っても、特にレストランの概要、特にメニューがどんなものがあるかわからない。日本のホテルでは写真付きのメニューとその料金まで詳細に紹介してあり、しかも宿泊客には割引サービスも行っているところが多数あります。シドニーは国際的大都市ですので、日本の例を参考にすべきではないでしょうか。

Vi følte oss velkommen på dette hotellet fra første stund. Kofferentene ble brakt opp på rommet av to hyggelige karer, som fortalte oss om alle finnesser på rommet. Putemenyen hvor vi kunne velge mellom fem ulike hodeputer var morsom. Det eneste negative med dette, og andre hotell i Australia, er at internett er relativt dyrt.

Sehr gutes Hotel im Centrum, schräg gegenüber des queen-viktoria-building. Das Frühstück, bei dem von uns gebuchten Angebot im Preis enthalten, war sehr gut und reichlich (Buffet). Personal aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Sehr positiv, wir konnten das Zimmer am Abreisetag bis 13.00 h behalten.
