I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have never been disappointed. The service is always very good. The staff is unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is lovely and the food delicious. Be aware, however, that it is in a dry county.

"Sleepless Night"
This hotel is the noisiest we have ever stayed in. Doors slamming all night long. Not much room to move around in the room. Bed was comfortable, bath was pretty small. Restaurant overrated. Intended to stay two nights but checked out after one.

what a great experience. I am a daniel boone fanatic...and we had just visited boonesboro before checking into this historic treasure. the college student staff were wonderful and helpful. the restaurant is superb and the inn has been restored and is quite beautiful indeed. we were there in the off season so we ghot a great deal. but i would pay more […] to stay there again! indulge yourself once in a while...live outside the box and spend a little more and bring joy to your heart! My wife and I had a great experience! The hotel has been renovated to include some modern features that do not detract from the original design. Very comfortable room, perhaps a little smaller than a new hotel, but the furnishings make up for that! Wonderful staff, ample parking, and right in the middle of town. I have stayed at the Historic Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant a few years ago and it was beautiful then but after their renovations in 2009, they have outdone themselves! Not only do I recommend both the hotel and restaurant but also the gift shop and the town of Berea. It is a beautiful little town with some of the most friendly people that live […] and work there. The staff of the hotel and restaurant were very polite and accomodating to my husband and I. The food was also very affordable and tasty. If you are planning a trip through Kentucky and are passing by Berea, an overnight stay at the Historic Boone Taven Hotel and breakfast at their restaurant is a must! Lisateave

Very pleasant, cozy hotel. Staff was friendly, courteous & competent. TempurPedic mattresses. Food was excellent except for crab which seemed frozen and a bit too salty (after all, central KY. is not even close to the Ocean). All other dishes were locally grown and seasonal. Wonderful!

Charming renovated historic hotel in a small college town. The room was nice although the carpet appeared dirty. Staff was excellent and nearby galleries and restaurants within walking distance made our visit enjoyable.

"Found a treasure on the way home"
Boone Tavern was wonderful. My husband and I were traveling back home and decided to book a night at this historic tavern. One night is not enough! As we were pressed for time, we couldn't stay longer but Boone will certainly be on our list of places to stay. We have even recommended it to our friends and family. It is beautiful and very comfortable. […] Some people have complained that the rooms are small but we found it extremely adequate and very comfortable. The bedding was plush and clean. The shower was fabulous (very relaxing after a 7 hour drive). The food was delicious. The walls are a little thin so you can hear the neighbor's shower and the children in the hall way but those are minor things we overlooked when considering how old this place is. The staff at Boone was very kind and accomodating. I recommend this hotel to anyone lucky enough to be passing through Berea, KY! Lisateave

This hotel is so special! We arrived in the chaos of Mother's Day/graduation to find the staff calm and welcoming. We were able to get lunch reservations at 3:30 and the wait staff, while obviously putting in a long day, couldn't have been friendlier. We loved everything about it. A word to the wise, avoid the Kentucky Artisan Center at I-75 and just […] go to the shops in the block around the hotel. The Center is very kitschy and touristy. Lisateave
"Historic Boone Tavern Hotel - a must-see!"
We had a wonderful stay at Boone Tavern! The hotel was a little difficult to find, but the staff was wonderful and talked us in over the phone. The hotel is gorgeous. Our room was a little small (two people couldn't walk past each other without turning sideways and squeezing past), but the Tempur-Pedic mattress more than made up for it! What an amazing […] night's sleep! We loved that they're Kentucky Proud, and used as many KY-made products as possible. The hand-crafted furniture was gorgeous, and the food in the restaurant (most of which is grown on the college campus, we're told) was delectable. We can't wait to dine there again. We really fell in love with all of it. If you're in the Lexington area, it's worth the drive to Berea to visit the college and Boone Tavern. Lisateave
"Boone Tavern Hotel"
This hotel is very nice and located in the heart of the college area and shops. Not a lot of action, but a very relaxing hotel and area. We stayed in a room with a double bed, and the room wouldn't have fit a larger bed, but it was comfortable and a great change from all the chain motels by the highway.
Very nice hotel. Reminds me of a mini Grand Hotel. Yes it is old but that is part of the experiance. Quiet time. I wish I had more time to spend to there.

"Historic Charm for sure!"
We enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel and Berea College. We had a nice meal at the Tavern and two tours led by college students who were very cordial and enjoyed sharing the history and crafts of the college. Great experience. Thanks. Ginger/Michigan
"Boone's Tavern Hotel"
This was our first stop in Berea, Ky on our way to South Carolina. This was an experience and not just a stop at any ole motel along the interstate system. The room was quaint and interesting with the furniture all made by local wood workers. We enjoyed an evening meal served by students from Berea College next door. Took a tour of the "Log House" crafts […] store across the street. The wood crafts were fantastic. Would recommend this visit to anyone. Lisateave
"Lovely hotel. Room size average"
We were greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Arrived late on Friday evening a town was quiet. Rooms very clean and updated.
The guest in the room next to us had their TV on all night, never slept, we complained to manager, he tried to contact guest with no luck. We left at 4am to drive 5hrs home to get some sleep. Only response from manager when we left was they would not put anyone in the room next this guest, because he was staying with them for 5 nights, guess his money […] was better than ours!!!! "Historic Boone Tavern"
Awful service at this hotel and restaurant!! My sister and I were meeting in Berea for a girls weekend for my 50th birthday. I paid extra for 2 beds, but received a room with 1 bed. I was not compensated for the change--I was told it was an upgrade from what I booked because the room had a king bed. They put a small roll away in the room, but it was […] tiny and not comfortable. My sister and I ended up sharing the same bed which was not ideal--for the extra money I paid. In the morning we found that the bathroom electrical outlet did not work. We couldn't fix our hair that day because the only mirrors in the room did not have outlets close by. The outlet was fixed, however, later in the day. I can't even begin to say how BAD the service was in the restaurant. The restaurant was mostly empty when we went for breakfast, but it took over 20 minutes for us to get waited on. Couples all around us were receiving service, but we just sat and sat with no waiter. Finally someone waited on us, but it seemed grudging. The manager visited every table in the room except ours. I think they did not like the idea of 2 women alone in their restaurant. I got the impression that they were full of themselves and the reputation of their restaurant. The food was good, but that does not make up for treating guests in such a terrible way. I would rather eat rocks than step foot in that restaurant again! I want to thank the Historic Boone Tavern for ruining my 50th birthday experience!! Lisateave
"Great Hotel"
Our stay was great. This is a beautifully restored hotel. Very clean and convenient to campus and stores & restaurants. The only complaint I have is that the heating system was loud and woke us up in the middle of the night. Other than that we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful, charming, and old world ambiance. It is a jewel with great service by the Berea College personnel. You will love it. It is the antithesis of the "modern" hotels with overdone superficial opulence.
