Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. Renovations were noisy but they started after 7 and finished before 5 which was good!

The hotel itself is incredible--one of the few around with two bedroom suites. The morning breakfast buffet is excellent and the Monday through Thursday happy hour is an added bonus. Parking was a little difficult--but mostly due to the hotel renovation (we stayed in one of the renovated suites and they are worth the parking inconvenience). The staff […] is very kind and attentive--really going out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. The location is excellent--super close to the 5, 78 and 15 Freeways, practically walking distance to Legoland and basically a good base to tour anywhere in Southern, CA (we were able to go on day trips to Palm Springs and Malibu and be back in time for dinner!). The rooms and the entire hotel are super clean and well maintained. The pool is heated and the spa is great. While we were there, the gym was in a temporary space, but it was still nice with great equipment. Lisateave

Currently they are renovation the hotel. It is great for a family because it has the convenience of having a kitchenette and very close to Lego Land. The continental breakfast every morning had a lot of options (waffles,fruit,cereal,etc). I would have not stayed here if i knew major renovation was going on. I commend the effort to make amenities better for the future, but not fair for me who needed to deal with the dust and noise during my stay. Especially around the temporary breakfast area.

The hotel itself was clean, and when I contacted the front desk, they were responsive to my requests. However, I would have liked to have been informed that the hotel was undergoing renovation/construction prior to my stay. As I drove to the hotel and discovered it was in a very remote area (my fault - should have looked into this more carefully), I […] was even more disappointed to find out it was currently undergoing construction. Was very pleased with the hotel and the staff. The rooms were very clean and had everything that we needed for the time that we stayed there. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It is in a business park but you never saw a lot of traffic or heard any noise. It is not that far from the beach and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. Would stay there […] again. This was a family trip. We were planning on going to San Diego. Decided to stay here instead because the hotel was so inviting--activities for the kids, close to Legoland, friendly staff and food throughout the day. The suite was exceptionally tidy. Great location, easy access to everything but off the beaten path enough to be relaxing. Cabinets and dressers could be up dated but over all nice and clean. Small space in 1 room suite bedroom. Noisy kids above us jumping up and down all day and night. Breakfast was okay not a lot of choices, one waffle maker in a crapped space. Sometimes there was […] fruit sometimes not but beats having to go out for breakfast. I would stay here again and would also recommend it. It is a 3 star hotel after all, can't expect 5 star quality. Staff was friendly and helpful when a questioned was asked. One of our travelers got sick on the trip and we kept the 'okay for now' sign on the door all day, the front desk called to see if everything was okay with the room and if we needed anything. We booked a room there to attend conference meetings being held at La Costa Resort and Spa. La Costa was out of our price range. Residence Inn was close by. The savings allowed us to rent a car. Everything looks a bit worn down and dingy, but the place is very clean and smelled clean. Maybe just needs new carpet and modern colors. Pool is nice, small exercise room, but there is 24hour Fitness closeby.

The price was right on this hotel and the room was nice, clean and large. It had a cute little kitchenette with everything you could need. It had a complimentary breakfast, which was included in the price of the hotel room. The breakfast area was a chaotic but the food was pretty good. I noticed that they offer free social events on weeknights such […] as BBQs and nacho night. The grounds were family-friendly with a pool, hot tub and even a basketball court. I used the free Wi-Fi along with the hotel's home page to find a local restaurant for dinner. We went to the restaurant which was only 2 miles away. The part of town where the restaurant was located was "poppin", as my teenage daughter said. The only negative thing I could say was that our A/C unit was noisy. I plan on staying there again. great place to stay, 5 minutes driving you can find a lot of convenience stores. we stay there for Legoland, and it was a great place for the family

We went to lego land so the location of the hotel was good. The problem is that you feel you are going to work since the building is in a commercial area with a lot of offices around it. The maintinance of the carpet, the kitchen in the rooms was not great. The rooms need some remodeling. If you're travelling in Carlsbad for business or pleasure I would highly recommend the Residence Inn. It was outstanding and I will be staying there again for future trips.
