The hotel was fine and staff was very nice. Continental breakfast was decent and room was clean. Hotel does not sit right on the highway so we passed it and had to drive across town looking for it. Wish they had a bigger sign on the highway. Close to several restaurants

Nice comfortable hotel in the north side of the hotel. Difficult to find this hotel as the SatNav didn't recognize the address, I queried the clerk about this, he said the hotel had been there 13 years and that people often said this. I t seems strange therefore that the hotel haven't addressed this. I commented that the sign for the hotel was not easy […] to see from the road. Hotel was very nice, good service, great hot breakfast, quiet, very clean. They didn't get a 5 in overall rating because they jacked up their room rates because of a music festival in town. We paid a third more than normal to stay in Silver City. On the plus side, someone in Hotels.com or the hotel itself messed up our reservation and they put us in […] a room with two beds. We had reserved a King bed room and they were willing to make the change for us when we checked in. The hotel is on the edge of town so you have to drive for 15 minutes to get to the center city. I stayed in rm 316, the door is so hard to open. thanks to the housekeeper, who showed me a trick on to open it easier. instead of pulling down to open the handle,,,,,,I has shown to pull up on it instead. after a few tries, I did ok. th estaff was VERY nice and helpful. I would definetly stay here again. hope they fix the door. something else that […] was so helpful... check in time is 3pm. they let me check in an hour earlier, that meant Alot to me. also..I orded a smoking rm but sisnt get it.. thats ok. i didnt smoke while i was there...nice. Very friendly and helpful staff. It looked like the hotel was kind of far outside of town, but in reality, it only takes a couple of minutes to be in the heart of the historic district, and there are plenty of services nearby -- gas stations, restaurants, a Walmart, etc. One big advantage of its location is that it is very quiet. This was a very nice hotel to stay at even though we only stayed one night. This was a very clean hotel and the breakfast was excellent. A very good variety of breakfast food. No problems and very reasonable.

The front desk staff was rude upon my initial check in. Apparently my reservation had not trickled down to them yet. It took a manager reading the email on my phone to say give me a room and I could sign paperwork later. After being exhausted by my journey I wanted to lay down. This is when I noticed a pubic hair on the sheet! One call to the front […] desk had a moved next door to a "clean" room. I inspect the sheets thoroughly and found them to be clean. I walked into the bathroom to find dried urine on the seat! Seriously??? Yes ma'am! I send my child down to the front desk to report this as I'm exhausted by now. The previously rude front desk lady returns with cleaner in hand to take care of it. She cleans, appologizes profusely and retreats to her duties. I wanted to be satisfied with this hotel. This is where I have told my mother to stay when I used to live in Silver City. I wanted to feel like it was a good idea. Alas it was not! Lisateave

We were taking my step son to go look at the university and they put up the parents at another hotel. I am so very glad we went with the Holiday Inn. Price location, and breakfast was great.

Room heater was loud and kept going on and off all night, bed was very uncomfortable compared to other hotel chains I have used. Noise from ajoining rooms very noticeable.

this is the 3rd time we have stayed here, but will be switching to the other hotel closer in town next time. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned when we got there, little things, like coffee stain dribbles in the bathroom sink, and newsprint fingerprints on the lightswitch cover in the bathroom. Chair for the desk does not FIT! as it does not slide […] under the desk and stick out into the walkway past the foot of the bed. Desk should have been placed at end of room by window, switched with the TV. Luggage rack isn't big enough for a large suitcase to lay open on. NO microwave OR refrigerator in room. Upstairs hallway was HOT, fireplace was ON!! its summer people! nearby hotel has bigger room, sink outside of bathroom, larger luggage rack, desk chair slides under desk to get by...and has microwave AND frig in room, and has indoor pool and spa, for same price-we checked it out. It totally slipped my mind to check if they had a pool, My kids were not pleased about that at all. Wendy's is in the next parking lot so that was nice. The ladies at the front desk were a little rude, not fans of kids I suppose.

This was a last minute decision and were glad to be accomodated by HIE. We didn't know it was on the biggest event of the year, the Bike Race "Gila Monster." It all worked out and we got to see the Cliff Dwellings too. We had a great time. The Big Plus was having dinner at the Buck Horn in PA. Now that's a Golden Nugget in the middle of nowhere!

The hotel room was basic, clean, quiet, with good sized rooms and bathrooms. The breakfast was better than many free breakfasts I've had at similar hotels. It was a bit over priced, though, but that could have been because of the big bicycle race that was going on this particular weekend.

Overall the room was OK. It was clean and almost everything worked as expected. The only problems with the room included a light that didn't work and the cheap, uncomfortable beds. There are not a lot of options in Silver City and this is probably one of the nicer options but the price doesn't seem reasonable considering the cheap bedding and lack of […] a mini refrigerator and/or microwave. I've spent less money for better equipped rooms in many cities. Lisateave

About as close as you can get to the Gila Cliff Dwelling which brought me, my teen and my pre-teen nieces to the area. The room was much nicer than the one we had the previous night and the girls certainly noticed this. We felt safe and I had no worries about going out to smoke and leaving the girls in the room.

Rooms are nice, good size. Jet tub was really nice, but noisy, and since there was hair in the tub still, I wondered how often the jet system got cleaned. No outside area to sit for breakfast to take advantage of nice weather. OK location, not much to walk to except the Wendy's. The spa was "out of order" the entire 7 days I was there. Phones were set up so that calling long distance was not possible, even calling collect, until you made arrangements with the front desk. Front desk staff -- some were OK and helpful with local directions, others were too inexperienced to really deal with anything; supervision seemed to be non-existent. […] Wood frame construction lets you hear all movements of the other guests above and beside you and on the stairs. Far from town and down an unmarked side street from the highway. Nothing but a Wendy's anywhere nearby. I'm hoping there are better places to stay in town. Lisateave

We did not have one hot shower at the hotel. We checked with other guests and when they told the front desk , they received a discount on their charges. We were told we were not eligible because we had booked through Expedia. That should be exactly why we get a further discount...because we booked through expedia. The breakfast that was included was […] great--had hot food selections and cold breakfast choices also. The other bad thing was that we had a large room so we had tow ac units--one evening one of them smelled liked smoke so we unplugged the unit. We notified the front desk their only response was to tell us the'would tell "the supervisor". It was never made known to us if the unit had been checked so we had no use of it for 2 hot nights. luckily we are from washington and could take the room temp that was hot to other family staying there but from Phoenix and Las Vegas.
