Terrible! Had to wait for our room to be ready. Man behind counter not very helpful. had to walk through the whole hotel complex to find our room. We would not stay there again.

Other than road construction around hotel, the stay was great. The staff went out of their way to get me directions to where I was going and restaurants that I could eat at given my dietary concerns.

Over all stay was great, loved the room/hotel. The AC/Heater in the room was a little off as it couldn't keep the temperature constant in the night. There was a cheerleading/dance competition that weekenend and they were spending the night at the hotel so there was a lot of noise in the hallways and breakfast was a little difficult to keep stocked but […] over all it was a good stay. Breakfast was a litlte slim pickings as there were a lot of people around. Over all good stay would reccomend going back. Lisateave

Can never go wrong at a Holiday Inn. Only problem was the breakfast was not as good as I had at other Holiday Inns. The desk clerk gave us a quiet area as we requested. The bed was glorious! Fell asleep right away. Water pressure in shower was excellent. But water was hard, made my skin dry.

Our room was clean and comfortable & at a great rate for the area. Had a slight concern based on other reviews, but did not notice any musty smell in the hallways or in our room. I wonder whether reservations booked via Hotels.com are given rooms in the hotel "ghetto." While my room was smoke-free, the hallway in which it was located stank of stale and new smoke--evident at a distance, and that smokiness infiltrated my room. My bathroom was old with cracks and stains in the sink and bathtub, and a shower and drain that only […] worked with a bit of effort. The pillows seemed old, as the "soft" pillows were not very soft, but incredibly lumpy. As well, if I am remembering this properly, the location of the hotel does not match the location on the listing. The breakfast was not fully stocked per the usual standard either. I was pleasantly surprised. I went back for my 50th HS Reunion and I couldnot have made a better choice. Great hotel and staff, even the housekeeping staff was wonderful.

Very easy to find. Nice people at the front desk always willing to help. Breakfast was good especially when you consider it is included in the price. Would recommend it to anyone! BTW, also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Beloit, WI in the same week and was the same experience!

Our room was clean but smelled very musty.The air-conditionor ran all the time and made a lot of unusual noises:( Our .news paper was stolen every morning. The hot breakfast was good and.had a nice variety of things to choose from.

Ice too far away. Only one diet pop. No zero water with flavor. Furniture well used. Liked the bed softness. Thought I was on a sleep number with no remote to change. No donuts for breakfast.

This particular HIE appeared to be very new, or recently refurbished. The foyer, waiting area and breakfast area were all very nicely designed and clean. The staff were very friendly and the check-in was fast. My room was very clean and looks either pretty new or recently refurbished. No visible wear and tear that you would usually find in a hotel room. […] The bathroom was clean and the room also has a large jacuzzi tub. The bed was clean and nicely presented. The complimentary breakfast was the usual affair: cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc. This will be my regular hotel when visiting St. Charles for business. My friend & I randomly chose this hotel, and the reviews were on par (so there were no surprises). The staff was really friendly, the continental breakfast selection was rather huge (with a multitude of healthy choices). The room was fairly clean, except the toilet and bathroom should of been scrubbed down more, there were ants in the bathroom (moisture […] ants, someone told us), and there was mould on the ceiling. The beds were SO comfortable to sleep in, with really comfortable pillows. The hotel was great about getting us a taxi service when we required one, and it was pretty quiet within. Lisateave

We enjoyed our night away at the Holiday Inn Express in St. Charles. We did dinner and entertainment at nearby establishments and the hotel was in a very convenient location. The room was clean, the location was quiet, the breakfast left a little to be desired but would have been acceptable if you knew it was a glorified continental breakfast. (warm […] items tasted like they were from a can or carton, not homemade). Otherwise great experience. When the maid came into clean our room, she not only did a great job but she put my sons favorite stuff dog on the bed like he was napping. When we got back with a crabby boy, that made him so happy. Anytime we had a problem with the room, the staff fixed it right away. I must say that was the best experice that I have had at a hotel. Thank you :)

Hotel room/bed was comfortable. I stay here often just for the hot breakfast that is included. The hotel needs a lot of maintence in the rooms. The water in the toilet was running all night long and did not stop, I had to go and open it up and fix it myself. I told the manager on duty and nothing was done. Not even an appology. My husband and I stayed here over the Christmas weekend. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance (great pizza place across the street) and the breakfast buffet was good. There is also a small shop in which to buy toiletries and snacks, as well as some food items you can cook in the microwave that is within the shop. Although the hotel was well located to all of our activities and had a good appearance from the outside, our room had ants in the bathroom that seemed to nest under the ceramic tile.
