Considering the construction, the hotel was in pretty good shape. The staff however were not helpful and in fact quite the opposite. I was with my three young granddaughters and expected the concierge would be of great help. He sent us to a restaurant that was extremely expensive and the waiter was extremely rude. He got us a taxi that cost twice as […] much an any other taxi. He sent us off to the Muse d'Orsay on a Monday morning, not informing us that it was closed. At other hotels we have used at this price we have had only the best information and helpfulness from the concierge . This was very disappointing. Ann (the manager) was lovely in trying to make up for this, but overall a very bad taste was left for Sofitel. Lisateave

Absolutely brilliant hotel!!!! Even though building works were taking place there was no disruption. The hotel was even more luxury than expected, easily the best hotel have ever stayed in. Hotel staff were very helpful. Would recommend having the breakfast in bed and using the room service.

The location of this hotel is terrific for tourism. The hotel is under refurbishment but still a good hotel. My two only concerns: we have booked 2 non smoking bedrooms and one of them had a terrible cigarrette smelling. On the other room the fridge was not working at all (all drinks were not refrigerated). I have spent 4 nights with my family there […] and after complaining about that 3 times and no solution given, I simply gave up trying (I was on vacation and I did not want to spend time with that in Paris). The staff is courteous and very professional (I really do not undestand with the fridge was not replaced or they have changed our room) I think it is not acceptable a Sofitel hotel doe not look for the details (such as the smelling bedroom and the broken fridge). Extensive building work currently being carried out (end of Dec - prob well into Jan) which was particularly noisy early in the mornings and if your room was on that side of the building - which mine was! Room was small-ish with a view of the roof so not sure booking through this site gets you a view. Close to shopping and sights as well as metro, staff extremely accommodating, it felt very plush. It was nice to have help and advice from staff in a city where we were unfamiliar with the language and culture. We felt that everyone bent over backward to assure our satisfaction

I had a wonderful stay. When I arrived I asked the person at the desk if he spoke English and I was told “No.” Luckily for me I do speak enough French to get my point across. As soon as I started to speak French he continued the entire conversation in English. My room was small by American standards and very warm. The hotel is in a nice quiet location, but still close to major landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysee. Annoyingly one of our rooms was not ready on arrival, even though it was 5pm. However, the management did offer a complimentary drink in the bar while we waited, about 20 mins. The rooms (deluxe) and bathrooms were spacious and well […] equipped. The cleaning service was very good. Free wi-fi throughout the hotel, although connection in the room sometimes required assistance from the technical department. The quality of the concierge staff varied from excellent to average. All ordered taxis arrived on time, I recommend this if you are a group of 4 people. The breakfast is expensive, but the pastries are excellent quality. If cost is an issue there are cafes within a 5 minute walk. We would stay again if coming to Paris next month! Lisateave

No courtesy coffee or cookies for guest in the morning No high speed internet (very slow connection had to go out of the hotel to a remote pay site to get high speed connection) They advertised high speed internet and that was one of the reasons I booked with them.

Hotel is about 3 blocks off the Champs Elysee and about three blocks from the Arc de Triumphe. Neighborhood is quiet. Not many cafes or shops bneraby so the nearest food/shopping is on tye Champs Elysee which can be pricey. Hotel staff very good and helpful. Room was clean and a good size. Free WiFi was a plus. the rooms were so small you could barely squeeze into them and I even paid for an upgrade to a bigger room. i dont think a smurf would be comfortable in one these rooms...not a 4 star hotel by any standards but the people were really helpful and friendly. location was also convenient

Hotel staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Multilingual staff. Didn't have any problems communicating in English or my Frenchish (English and French!). Nearest Subway was about 5 min away as was the Champs Elysees. It was located in a very quiet area. Not much in terms of retail or restaurants in immediate area though there […] are a couple of cafes scattered about. While I returned to the hotel late a few times I did not feel unsafe. Wary and cautious, but secure. Free Wifi was a plus and appreciated. Disadvantages: No coffee maker, fridge, or iron in room. Must call room service for ice. No clock radio but stereo was present. Adv: Free wifi, 1 standard American Outlet, large room for European or US standards, nice bed linens, Hermes bath products (loved them!), excellent water pressure, and the cute little bear housekeeping left on my bed that said Bon Nuit (Good Night). This hotel is very close to the Arc de Triomphe, Champs E'lysee, and subway access. We originally booked a king bed but found our room on the 4th floor very noisy and a bit small. This was an upgrade room booked through Expedia. Noises were all-day long and sounded like construction or room cleaning but there was no work being done anywhere near us--strange. […] We upgraded to a junior suite on the 7th floor room 715. The staff was very very helpful, courteous, and showed us the room before we made the move. We had a partial view of the top of the Eiffel tower, the Arc, and the Pantheon from our little balcony. If you can afford this room, or the 7th floor, do it, it's worth it. Overall I'd give it 4 out of 5 because of the initial room situation. Seriously, the staff was really helpful. If we ever go back to Paris, we would probably stay closer to the St. Germain area because the food choices and shopping are more affordable and walking along the Sein is more accessible. Lisateave

Once again, a wonderful stay in Paris. The Sofitel Arc de Triomphe is a lovely hotel, situated just off the Champs Elysee. Our big mistake (my own fault) was booking during Bastille Day! The celebrations continued over several days and into the weekend with quite a few shops and restaurants closed. The only negative comment with regard to the hotel […] was the fact that the restaurant is not open on a weekend. That said, hey you are in Paris and we found a wonderful Italian restaurant which was reasonably priced, at the end of the street. Lisateave

The staff was pleasant, helpful and friendly. A very positive experience. The apricots and fruit teas at reception were wonderful. The bar staff were very knowledgeable about the wines and made an excellent recommendation.

First of all, expedia dnt give me what i paid for. Got to the hotel and was given a smelling room with wardrobes that dont close. Changed room twicw. was finally given a better room courtesy of the guest service manager who intervened after much complains. Eventually, i tried to enjoy my stay.

We had a wonderful trip. The Eurostar journey was excellent, on time on the way out but slightly delayed on way back but this did not ruin anything. Hotel was clean and the room was great. We had no idea, other than the pictures on expedia, what to expect as we drove into Paris to check in to the Sofitel Arc De Triumphe. As we pulled up in the taxi, we were blown away by the beautiful building that was our hotel. The pictures do not do this place justice, at all. The lobby was gorgeous, and the bellman had our bags inside within seconds, […] from front step to room, we didn't lift a finger. During check-in, they congratulated us on our anniversary, and then upgraded us to a massive suite as a complimentary gesture. WOW! We were met by Claire, a charming woman who is the head of guest services. She personally walked us to our room, and gave us a tour. The suite was huge, I mean one of the biggest rooms we've ever stayed in. I would say at least 600 sq. feet. This is unheard of in Paris, as most hotel rooms are microscopic. The room had a seperate hall, two showers, huge bathroom, seperate toilet, living area, genuine king size bed, not two twins, and a balcony with a window that opened. That evening they sent us a delicous fruit trifle and a handwritten note of congratulations and well wishes for our stay. The entire visit was flawless, from the room service (amazing food) to having our room serviced twice a day, the ten days we spent there were utterly exceptional. This was the best hotel stay of my life, and the only thing I would change is that it should be rated five stars instead of four. The Sofitel Arc was luxury, pure and simple. Bon Voyage! Lisateave

We would defininitely recommend this Sofitel. The location is wonderful. The staff could not have been more friendly and more helpful. We were spending Christmas in Paris with our son, his wife and 2 children, ages 4 & 6. We had emailed the hotel in advance asking if they would be willing to have our rooms available earlier than the normal check-in […] time because we were arriving very early in the morning with small children, and they were willing to do this for us...so helpful and accomodating!!! Also, the lounge was quite nice and we were able to just relax there in the late evenings, or play some cards and games with the children, have drinks, entertained some old friends for drinks, etc. The bartender was wonderful and catered to our every wish. The location of the hotel is great - 5 min walk to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees. No issues with cleanliness or hotel service - everything was fine. Maintenance and repairs though are a big problem. Changed rooms after getting fed up with screeching noise coming every 20 min from ventillation in the room. Next rooms' noise insulation was poor. […] Heard all the neighbours' phone calls, lovemaking sounds etc. WiFi signal was very weak on5th floor. Later repairs started one floor down. They hammered and banged and stomped from 10am till 6 pm only, but wife and myself had a few late starts, so we had to suffer during the last 2 days of our stay. Summary: personnel and service are very good, building is old and maintenance is poor. Will try another hotel on my next trip to Paris. Lisateave

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Paris. We celebrated our 20 year anniversary. The staff was helpful. The location was nice and centralized. Commuting was very easy via the Metro. The hotel was close the Champs Elyssee.. We plan on returning.

Our stay at the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe was everything and more than we expected. It was my 60th birthday and our first time in Paris. We explained this at check in and were upgraded to a junior suite!! The room was very spacious with a large bathroom and Hermes soaps etc. There was an electric tea kettle for morning tea or coffee in the room. The bedding […] was very comfortable. The staff at the hotel could not have been nicer. They helped arrange dinners and excursions for us. The restaurant in the hotel was exceptional. There is also a very nice bar downstairs. The hotel is close to the metro as well as the hop on and off bus. We were able to wallk to little bakerys in the morning for croissants. The Arc de Triomphe was only 2 blocks away. There were also many good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. When we return to Paris we will definately stay here again!! Oh, I forgot to mention that on my birthday there was a chocolate cake delivered to our room as well as a little bear on my pillow! What a nice surprise. One hint about visiting the Louve. The Sofitel Arc de Triomphe had everything we were looking for; air-condition, free wifi, king sized bed, a safe location and a view. It was perfect! Room was very spacious. Great quiet street and location. Room was worn, bathtub ledge was 22" high ( a little ridiculous) to get in and out. Conciergie never gave complete directions to anywhere, always had to ask at the half way point where to next? Anything you asked for was brought to your room promptly. The staff were exceptionally accomodating. For example, we arrived in Paris in the early morning and they graciously permited us to check-in at 10:00 a.m. with no hesitation. Additionally and without requesting it, they set-up a seperate bed for our daughter at no charge - great for my wife and I who enjoyed the comfortable king-size bed to ourselves. […] The staff spoke English well and were exceptionally pleasant, even to the extent of providing us with additional bottles of water at no charge. It was a little challenging to find reasonably priced restaurants in the area, but just three blocks away on Rue Wagram were some very good restaurants and reasonably priced. We tried to avoid the tourist areas for food. I can eat American food in the US. Very close to Metro and Champs Elysee, and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the trip. .
