The Paramount - A Times Square, New York Hotel - New York

Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. […] Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks. Lisateave

This hotel is right on times square which is great for getting close access to most of Manhattan. However be prepared for very crowded streets around Times Square at all times of the day and night. Once you get a few blocks away it is not as busy. Otherwise great location and good hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy.

The hotel is ok for a 2 star hotel. This hotel is OK, but it is noisy, and small rooms. It is just not a 4 star hotel!!!!

I especially liked the naturally flavored water in the lobby.

Bed was made, but the trash had not been emptied, carpet not swept, no fresh soap. Room was exceptionally small. Called front desk to report room condition, and could not get through. Went downstairs and told them I tried to call. The answer was we have been busy - too busy to answer the telephone.

I loved the Paramount! Located literally 1 block off of Times Square, I was very close to tour buses and subways. Upon arrival, I felt very welcomed and check-in was super fast. I read so many reviews about small rooms, that I actually held my breath upon entering my "queen" room. Amazing! 2 huge windows made the room feel very open (blackout curtains […] were included and used when sleeping). The space is set up so efficiently, TV mounted on the wall, lighting above the bed and very modern. The air worked great and made the room very comfortable. The bed and bedding was comfortable. The bathroom was a great use of space as well, shelves mounted on the walls, and a space for towels behind the mirror. I had plenty of hot water and great water pressure and a full length mirror behind the bathroom door. At night, I had a great view of the lights from Times Square, but the room was quiet. Elevators were fast, never had to wait. My trip was just as a tourist, so I was only in the room to sleep and shower, but the Paramount exceeded my expectations. Also, the photos from the hotel are very representative of the facility. Hotel staff was very friendly, hotel and room were very clean. Very modern and hip, overall great NY experience. Lisateave

The suite with sleeper sofa reserved was "out of order" when we arrived at midnight after a full day of travel, so we were "upgraded" to the entertinment suite that only had one bed for the 4 people I reserved accomidations for. Our son & his wife shared a twin roll away because that was all the hotel could offer. The suite had stained carpet and very […] "tired" furnishings. We had to move our bags to the lobby early the next dayand where bothered by housekeeping to do so because they couldn't relocated us in the suite we had reserved until after 3:00... then moved again to the standard Queen room for our last night which was unbelievably small and spartan. Over three nights, we had to call in requests for sheets(none on the sleeper sofa), ice buckets, glasses, and a blanket..of course tipping each staff member that brought what should have been in the room to begin with.With all of the moving, I never did unpack. I would never recommend this property... there are plenty of others in this price range. Nice staff... not well managed...really awful bathrooms and not well kept. Lisateave

Great location near theatres and restaurants.

I really like the vibe of the Paramount hotel... the lobby is soooo cool, and everyone @ the hotel was really nice and very helpful:)

The rooms are not like their website photos. Staff seemed fairly nice. Clearly not a 4 or 5 star hotel but it was ok. Location really couldn't be better.

The Paramount is a very attractive hotel and has a very fashionable and stylish look. Our check-in was carried out by an extremely helpful, friendly and efficient lady and this could be said for all staff at the hotel....I would not hesitate to recommend it as it is 50 yards from Times Sq and easy to get everywhere from there. best spot 20 meters from times square.coffee shop and pizza shop downstairs room are clean and fairly big compared to other hotels

This hotel is fine if you you're not spending much time in the room. The lobby was very inviting. The room was clean and comfortable, but no frills.

hotel was nice. The room was very very small. There was no desk/table, the bathroom was tiny. There was a tiny 1/2 closet not tall enough to hang a dress, and no in room coffee maker.

It is in a good location for plays and Times Square. But the service was terrible. It took two days and many complaints from me to have my telephone fixed. It took 6 hours to get hand towels. The air conditioning is very noisy, etc.

I had seen on previous reviews that the rooms were small but I was still surprised when I walked in the room and there was the bed one step away. The hotel did say at check in that it was the smallest size room with a full bed and that larger rooms with Queen beds were available for an additional fee. We were only there one night so definately not worth […] upgrading since we'd rather spend money outside the hotel seeing the city. We ordered the pricey room service for breakfast and plus another pricey fee for parking overnight and tax (yes, there's tax on parking) ! They did let us keep our car parked there for a full 24 hours which made it a bit better. Needless to say we ended up spending a lot more than anticipated but it is NYC and the hotel's location is awesome! You can walk to the center of Times SQ. in less than a minute and it's in walking distance to so many great restaurants and bus tours. For the price and location, it's worth dealing with the tiny rooms if you'll be out of the room most the time anyway! Lisateave

It was my bad that I selected this hotel. Its by far been my worst stay in NYC and across the globe

Our family went to NYC to see a show and booked this hotel because the location was great-within walking distance of the theatre, great restaurants, and sight-seeing venues. However, other than the location, I would not recommend this hotel. We were told it was recently renovated, but that was not apparent to us. The room smelled musty and was extremely […] small. Overall, it didn't seem clean. Even the elevators were dilapidated--one that we rode in had an entire panel missing and splintered wood exposed. Worst of all, it was not price-friendly either. We were told it was a four-star hotel, but it didn't deserve that rating. Lisateave

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel it was so conveinient for many things and the room was very comfortable , although small it was all that you need. Would definitely recommend this hotel and if you are looking for a good location off times square this hotel would be ideal. Great location in the middle of times square NY. Front desk were perky and helpful. Rooms were smaller than expected but this is new York. The thing that I find most irritating is that I found a woman's hair on the bathtub which is a bit of an eyesore. Our room was situated opposite the lift hence its a bit noisy come 5am. I felt a little cheated because […] I need to pay $2 per luggage item for storage post checking out. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay. Due to high occupancy, the lobby can be overcrowded as everyone is using the complimentary wifi. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel given its location and reasonable rates. Lisateave

Room are small, but the location is great. Less than a block away from time square. Staff are great and very helpfull. If you do not mind the noise that the place to be.

Good hotel if you are doing theater. Room very tiny and hallways slightly dingy.

the location was phenomenal, the staff and service were awesome and helpful, and my experience was amazing. Loved it so much, that whenever i come back to NYC, i know where my home is! A+++

this is one of my three regular places when i work late and need a comfortable, clean, BUG FREE place to crash. i have stayed here now dozens of times. i have not yet had a bad night. the petite rooms are super-tiny, but still comfortable and the bathrooms are ALL full sized and clean as can be. the staff are wonderful, friendly. the bar downstairs […] is hot. 24 hr gym. i could go on. when i am going to stay in the city and all of my favs are available this is the one i choose. oh and the beds are the most comfortable of all the nyc hotels i have stayed in and i have stayed in plenty. This hotel is not very business friendly. The rooms are very small, zero workspace and the walls are paper thin. I thought I was staying at a 4 star hotel, well this was not the case. Let's just say I showered with my slippers on. Now, for a family on vacation, not bad.

Had a great stay with my 13 year-old triplets. No extra charge for the roll-away beds and they gave us a large room for a small premium. Great location and fun lobby.

I love this hotel. The staff is so amazing. They are always so kind, friendly and, above all else, professional. The hotel is cool; the art alone is worth a visit. However, I always forget how close it is to the nightmare that is Times Square. I would certainly stay at the Paramount again. The hotel was in a great location in Times Square, just off the beaten path. Room was fine, smallish, but aren't they all. It was clean enough and comfortable. I just wish there was a table to put stuff on. Get rid of the chair and put a useful desk or table in the room. Loved having Dean & Deluca off the lobby.

Rooms are TINY. Take one step inside the room and you are at the bed. There are areas that have been spackled over but not re-painted. Shabby. I wouldn't stay here again.

We arrived at the hotel, had I not printed a picture of the hotel I would've never found it. There weren't any signs indicating what hotel it was. We had to valet our car that parking fair was not included in the hotel fees. When we entered the hotel it looked beautiful the decor was modern big and spacious lobby. We took the elevator to our room. When […] we entered I almost had anxiety attack, the room was the size of a sm walk in closet. We tried turning on the television which didnt work. We called down and they immediately sent someone up. They fixed the problem and went on their way. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. It has a double bed a tv and swivel chair. The room was so tiny that you could only walk around the perimeter of the bed and that was the whole room. We went down and asked if they had bigger rooms and they said no. When we checked out we had to pay an additional fee for parking which was an absurd amount. Lisateave

Was a little nervous about our stay at the Paramount after some of the mixed reviewes but we had a great time there for 6 nights. Yes the rooms are small and we did struggle with 2 children and 3 suitcases however given we spent most of our time out and about we were fine. Helpful staff, great breakfasts in the restauraunt upstairs and only 200 meters […] from Times Square. Close to Subways, Broadway theatres, and heaps of reasonably priced restaraunts a 5 minute walk away on 9th Avenue. Would happily stay there again. Lisateave

Hotel is very close to times square so be prepared for noise 24/7.. Rooms are small even the larger rooms which you pay a premium are small and dated. No wardrobe for hanging clothes just a storage press which is not suitable for more than one Person. Dark lobby full of funky seating most of which are not very comfotable. Hotel is described as 4 star, […] but star rating not based on European scales I would think. Over all disappointed with our stay. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly front of house could do with learning from them. Lisateave

Very good location but the room are extremely small. Two coworkers booked at different hotels for a similar price and their rooms were more than double our size and only 2 blocks from us. The shower is so small I had to step out of it to pick up the soap if I dropped it and I could not keep my razer, shampoo and soap in the shower soap holder at the […] same time. Ended up reaching outside the shower and leaving them on the sink, which was also small. Nothing wrong with the room, just tiny. Lisateave
