Carlton Square - Haarlem

For a four night stay we had an executive room with a fold up bed for our daughter. The room was big enough for this to work well without inconvenience. Free wifi, powerful shower, a spotless room and a very comfortable bed all added to a wonderful stay. The Restaurant and the Whiskey Bar were well run and very friendly with excellent food/drink. The […] underground hotel car park is also the municipal car park (Haut Plein) and we found it cheaper to get a 7 day municipal ticket (£45) than do it through the hotel. Short walk (5 mins) to the main square and another 5 mins to the station. Excellent train service into Amsterdam. Lisateave

Simply a great hotel in a wonderful location. Highly recommend it.

Small but clean rooms. Parking is beneath hotel in private lot and adds up quickly.

I'd stay at the Carlton Square again. It's clean, comfortable and had a great powerful shower. The decor is a little dated, but it's well cared for. Free wifi is also a bonus. It's about 10 minutes walk to the centre of Haarlem, but the location is nice, as is the walk. You could hire a bike and be in the centre within minutes.

This hotel was an exceptionally good value and was an extremely nice place. No complaints at all, except that it is a bit of a long walk from the rail station.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean, and the staff was helpful. The street outside was under construction, so that made navigating a little tricky, but not bad. There is plenty of good food and shopping nearby, and the train station is an approx 20-min walk. Very easy to do if you're planning to go in to Amsterdam.

I booked this hotel for the airport hotel. I took a bus for 50 minutes and took a cab for another 10 minutes. Spent 30 euro round trip to the airport and two hours. I couldn't do any thing else but taking bus . You shouldn't advertize this hotel for the airport.

The quality of the Carlton means that it is worth more than we paid, on a special offer. Rooms have a small balcony looking out across a pleasant park. The Scotch Whiskey themed bar is a little overdone, but fun. Hotel is slightly beyond the south of the city centre, about 10-15 mins. interesting walk (or use the no. 3 bus to/from the railway station). […] The Storing bar/café around the corner is good for snacks/lunch. This is the second visit to Carlton Square Hotel so that speaks for itself. We have enjoyed our stay both times - the Hotel is very comfortable and clean and the staff are very welcoming. We would certainly hope to visit again in the future.

This hotel was great- convieniently located near the airport and a quick ride by train to Amsterdam. If you want to escape the scene of Amsterdam for a gorgeous, quaint town this is the place to land. Would highly reccomend the hotel and the town.

I took this hotel because of great rate from the site here. I was very pleased when I arrived - the room size was more to North American expectations. Other reviews had suggested that the hotel furnishings were dated. I would agree, but everything was in good condition. The bathroom was a little tired looking, but fine. The bed was very comfortable. […] I don't spend much time in hotel rooms when travelling, so it suited my needs very well. The only thing lacking was wireless internet. It is a cab ride from the train station, and then once there, a short walk to the other end of the centrum. Lisateave

Hallo, wir waren für 4 Tage in diesem Hotel. Tiere sind nicht erlaubt. Bei der Buchung wurde uns zugesagt und auch schriftlich bestätigt, der Hund darf mit. Es war dann auch in dem Hotel kein Problem. Die Angestellen sind alle sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Direkt neben dem Hotel war eine Baustelle, was kein schöner Anblick war, uns jedoch nicht gestört […] hat. Wir waren sehr verwundert, daß im angrenzenden Park über all Hundekot lag. Die Hunde durften frei herum laufen, was uns auch sehr erstaunt hat. Dies ist bei uns in Deutschland nicht möglich. Aber der Hundekot war schon störend. Das Hotel an sich war auf Luxux getrimmt, jedoch hat man überall sehen können, daß nicht wirklich Luxus vorhanden war. Im Zimer waren Risse an der Decke, das Bad klein aber Zweckmäßig. genau so wie die Zimmer. Parkplätze sind keine vorhanden. Es gibt zwar ein angrenzendes Parkhaus. Man muß die Parkgebühren bezahlen wie jeder der dort parkt um mal eben in die Stadt zu gehen. Man hätte zumindest für Hotelgäste Parkplätze reservieren können. Das war sehr unangenehm. Mit 5 Sterne Luxus hatte das wenig zu tun. Aber alle Menschen die wir im Hotel trafen war ausgesprochen freundlich, nett und hilfsbereit. Dafür, herzlichen Dank Waltraud aus Deutschland Lisateave

Het hotel is zeer prettig gelegen: je kunt zo het centrum inlopen. Vanaf de snelweg ben je echter ook vlot bij het hotel. Parkeren in de betaalde parkeergarage gaat prima. Het personeel is altijd vriendelijk en behulpzaam, zelfs als je 's nachts om 5 uur terugkomt in het hotel. Zeer prettige kamer, zelfs de goedkoopste uitvoering is heerlijk. Goed bed, […] genoeg kastruimte, kluisje, veel handdoeken en koffie- en theezetfaciliteiten. Kortom, een hotel met klasse. Lisateave
