Morrison - Dublin

My friend and I stayed at the Morrison on our trip to Dublin and loved it. The hotel is a bit dark, but that adds to the elegance. The room was on the small side, but it was comfortable. My only complaint is that "double room" in Dublin means two twin beds rather than two double beds, though we knew this going in. This was a great hotel to start our 2 week trip to Europe. The location was right across the river from the Temple Bar area, which was very convenient. The rooms were great and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here during the weekend of 20 August and overall, it was spot on. I had stayed here on a couple of occasions around five years ago and I think it would be fair to say that the hotel is showing a few signs of wear and tear, but nothing worth complaining about. However, for the price paid, I thought the hotel offered great value and have no […] complaints. I thought the service was very good, with requests for things like more coat hangers/ironing board being dealt with very quickly. The check in/out staff were also very efficient. The breakfast was excellent. It wasn't included in the room rate I was on but for €15 I thought it was very good value as I was impressed with the choice and quality. Lisateave

This hotel was superb. The service was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

Read a couple good reviews on this hotel, but have to disagree with some of them. The hotel itself was very nice and clean but the service was horrible. First night there we were put next to the conference room/penthouse and were told it would be quiet after 7:30 pm...no such luck there. A group of people came in after and partied till 3 am. After phoning […] several times to the night manager who, instead of removing the people from the conference room, tells us to move at 3 am...what the hell is that. The second night was ok as nothing was going on. The third and last night was again loud as they put a wedding party in the room....so guess what...another sleepless night. When we check out I ask to speak to the night manager who didn't even offer to compensate us for anything, finally and grudgingly comps us our room service...whoopee doo. If anyone stays there and gets room 421...DO NOT TAKE IT!!! The person that was good there was Paul who helped us out with other matters... Lisateave

Great Location, 2 minute walk to Temple Bar Area, just across the bridge. 3 minute walk to shopping areas.

Good spot for exploring Dublin. Conveniently located just across the bridge from Temple Bar and five minutes from O'Connell St. Lovely cocktail bar which made grown up non-alcoholic drinks - hurrah. A query with the bill was settled promptly in our favour so many thanks.

Rooms are ok, clean. couldnt open the window, strange for a second floor room. in need of some minor repairs, mostly cosmetic damage but does take from the overall experience....location is brill...

Nice hotel, good location, asked for a late check out as 1.30pm was too early. They would not give me a later check out without charging me and it was very expensive, this was very disappointing

Excellent staff, great location. Internet should be free into all rooms, not lobby.

What a pleasure finding a hotel like this in the heart of Dublin. Great staff; great room; convenient, quiet and clean. Walking distance to everything. This is our place to stay when we visit Dublin-no doubt!

We only had 48 hours in Dublin, and are SO glad we stayed at the Morrison. The hotel was literally steps from the famed Temple Bar area so location was sublime. Hotel was stylish and clean and the staff was friendly. Upstairs the hallways are a little dark, which I know is part of the ambiance, but if you're older or have sight issues, this may pose […] a problem. Beautiful hotel situated right next to temple bar! Could not fault one thing about our stay! Even got to meet a few celebs!!! Top class hotel can't wait to go back!!!!

The room wasn't spectacular, but well above he basic hotel rooms you normally see in Europe. Great service. Great location.

The location is ideal. Just across the river from Temple Bar and just up the street from an amazing restaurant and nightclub called The Church (make sure you check it out). Beautiful decor and lobby. Has posh, trendy feel to it. Room layout was slightly cramped upon first walking into the room, there was a huge closet which made it difficult to move the luggage in, but other than that it was clean and comfortable. Staff was very professional. Hotel lobby bar seems to attract an after work crowd looking for a trendier cocktail […] and atmosphere than what the traditional pubs have to offer. Location is just north of Temple Bar, literally across the bridge so very convenient. Area surrounding hotel was fine, but not as exciting to me as the Grafton Street area which I preferred. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially at the very reasonable rate that we got the room at online. Good pick, glad we stayed there! Lisateave

we really enjoyed our stay in the morrison hotel, the hotel was lovely and so were the staff. I would recommed it to anyone and we will probaly be back..

The hotel is very comfortable and extremely conveniently located to all that Dublin has to offer. The hotel is located on the Ormonde Quay right on the river Liffey and you can walk to practically all of the primary tourist attractions. We would highly recommend a stay at this lovely hotel

New hotel but lacking in some basics like electrical outlets in the bathroom and above counters, had to unplug the TV in order to plug in a blow dryer or tea pot or phone charger. Front desk staff made us feel like they were doing us a favor by checking us in, no "welcome" or "how was your stay?" when leaving. Also Halo restaurant was closed for private […] bookings our whole stay, dissapointing. Great location just don't expect much. Lisateave

Stayed for one.night in a room overlooking river luffey. Hotel was perfect as were gonna be in the city the whole time. Hotel lobbys bars and corridors are lovely but our room 422 needed painting and a bit of tlc.

We stayed at the Morrison for 2 nights and LOVED it! It is so close to the Temple Bar area that we never had to search for a place to eat or for entertainment. It's also very close to the Hop on, Hop off bus, which we used as much as we could. The hotel staff were SO friendly and the hotel has an awesome swanky bar in the lobby. It was such a great […] surprise to find a hotel like this for the price that we found. I guess traveling on Easter Monday has its advantages. ;) Lisateave

THE HOTEL HAS THE BEST LOCATION IN CITY CENTRE, AND THE OVERALL APPEARANCE OF THE BUILDING IS QUITE NICE, NEVERTHELESS, THE WIRELESS INTERNET HAS QUITE A POOR QUALITY, SPEED AND SIGNAL. AND THE DESIGN - FUNCTIONING OF THE SHOWER ROOM IS TOTALLY UNPRACTICAL AND USELESS: THE SHOWER IS ON ONE SIDE INSTEAD OF BEING IN ONE END, THE CURTAIN DOES NOT STOP […] THE WATER TO SOAK THE ENTIRE ROOM, THE CLOAK GETS BLOCKED WHILE THE SHOWER IS ON WHICH PROVOKES THE FLOOR TO FLOOD, AND THERE IS NO SEPARATION BETWEEN THE SHOWER AND THE TOILET IN THE FLOOR, SO EVERYTHING GETS FLOODED TO THE POINT TO EVEN GO TO THE ROOM'S CARPET; AS WELL, THERE IS NO PLACE TO PUT THE SOAP OR THE SHAMPOO, SAME THING FOR THE SINK, NO PLACE FOR THE TOOTHBRUSH OR ANYTHING ELSE, JUST THE SINK AND A MIRROR. ALSO, THE "TABLES" NEXT TO THE BED ARE LAYING ON THE FLOOR WITH NO STAND SO YOU NEED TO COMPLETELY LEAN TO GRAB YOUR STUFF OR TO PUT SOMETHING THERE. THE STAFF IS QUITE FRIENDLY AND SOMEWHAT HELPFUL. THE ROOM ITSELF IS SIMPLY "NICE", NO FURTHER WORDS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE HOTEL OTHER THAN FOR THE LOCATION, WHICH, AGAIN, IS MAYBE THE BEST IN TOWN. Lisateave

This is an exceptionally fine hotel. Stylish and friendly with an abundance of mod cons and a fantastic location. This was our first trip to Dublin and we were very grateful to be staying right in the heart of things but not in the midst of the rowdy Temple Bar. Thoroughly recommended!

Have to say that the Hotel is sitated in the heart of Dublin, just a small jump accross the bridge and you are in Temple Bar... Although we live in Dublin we spent the weekend in the Morrison as we had friends over staying in the same hotel. Although we were out most of the time I would expect a lot more comfort for the premium price we paid.. The rooms […] are Dark, not mood lighting but more likely to hide the tired/poor decor... When in the room there was no welcome information or guide to the hotel. There was no internet available unless you went down to the lobby. The air conditioning did not work and was too loud to keep on anyway. The bathroom really needs a bit of a clean aswell as the toilet gave up working..... I could probably put more comments about it but again we were only here to put our heads down each night so it served its purpose but if you're in Dublin for a weekend away and walk into the 4* lobby and bar area get ready for dissapointment as soon as you open your bedroom door. The location of the hotel is really very good. Just over the bridge to Temple Bar but far enough away not to be affected by the noise. I undertstand the comments by some about the slight chips on the furniture but it is not enough to affect your stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom clean and the hotel quiet.

We stayed here for a few nights over the New Year and our stay was perfect. If you are looking for a hotel with a perfect location adn a great price this is it. You are right by temple bar and can walk to almost everything including the Guiness Brewery. My wife and I both decided that when we come back we r going to stay here again for sure. Modernized design but inadequate lighting in the rooms. Couldn't read, and shaving was an adventure. Still being renovated. A computer was installed in the lobby the night before we left. Also service personnel were clueless but very pleasant and willing to please. Overall a bit too cutesy for my taste.

One of the best experiences I have ever had in a hotel. The staff was amazing, rooms clean, comfortable, and a great location. I cannot reccomend this place enough. Will definitely be back.

SERVICE WAS SHOCKING IN THE BAR.

Great Location! The hotel was just what I was looking for at the price. Very close to everything, but just enough removed to be a bit quiter than being in the Temple Bar area. It is literally a 60 second walk across a pedestrian bridge over the LIffey. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were small but sufficient. Only three complaints […] were that the bed was a bit hard, some finishes were a bit tired, and no WIFI in the room. They had a cable connection for internet in the room but I couldn't get it to work. The WIFI in the lobby worked OK, but not very convenient. They should expand it to the rest of the hotel. I would definately stay there again and would recommend it. Lisateave

The Morrison Hotel is a superb place to stay if you are looking for style and good service. The staff were all very helpfull and pleasant. Location of this Hotel is very good,close to the Italian quarter with good restuarnts and reasonable prices for Dublin. Overall i would recomend this Hotel.
