When I booked online it did have a notification that the pool was closed for maintenance. But the restaurant and bar were also closed except for one evening when the front desk called to notify that the Bar was open, I went down for a drink and the Bar room was open, but no one was there... Very strange. OK, here is the lowdown on the hotel, there is […] much construction and repair going on, so things are differently improving. Right now, the place is a little run down though. There seemed to be people living in this hotel, not just there for an stay. Also, there were people coming and going from rooms through the windows which was also a little strange. So overall, in 6 months to a year I think the hotel will be a nice place for the business traveler or a family stay. Right now, I would avoid it unless you only need a cheap room and that is your only criteria. Lisateave

Pictures are not what the hotel looks like. Hotel VERY dirty, un clean sheets. Not able to stay had to check out first night. People going to bathroom outside of hotel in trees.

I did not have a good experience at the Carlisle Hotel due to a list of reasons. First the pool was closed for a few months for repairs and there was no posting about the closure. Also there was no breakfast and the staff was not sure why. Then the room its self had peeling wall paper, visibally dirty light switch covers, large dark stains on the couch, […] several on the floor and the chair had a stain and a burn hole about the size of a dime. The water temp in the shower kept changing from hot to cold, at one point it got so hot it made me jump out. The window view of a brick wall was my final straw. When I told the desk cleark she said that "thoes rooms" needed remodeled and offered no compensation. I won't be returning. Lisateave

the pool was not open, the continental breakfast was a loaf of bread, the place was shady at best and smelt like cigarettes and was dirty.

Stunk of smoke when entering. Outside was run down, pool out of order, shower had problems, just thankful i only had to stay one night. I would of walked out except i still would of had to pay.

It looks to me that the economy has derailed many standard fix up / repair items..... One of the entry doors was..."Not use able"..... The swimming pool had a letter as you entered stating...words to the effect "out of order".. It was most noteable that many Room Numbers had been stolen or broken so a Hodge podge numbering plaques were used in their […] place..... Simply put, it is a hotel in need of some serious attention...... The Carlisle name will need help if not addressed SOON..... Other than this the stay was OKAY... Lisateave

Dreadful is a good word, we knew we were in trouble when we pulled up & there was a mattress laying against the window in the pool area the pool was close. The room was even worse. The bathroom was purple and Kelly green with Kelly green Formica counters, I commented to my friend it reminded me as a bad 73 gay promo set. The comforter was the same one […] there from when I stayed at the hotel 15 years ago. The mattress is hard and I would feel the springs and the two pillows that wewe there were lumpy and would be better at the land fill, and the sheets and comforter felt like sandpaper on my skin. The whole hotel is old, rundown and in need of a gut and remodel. Run run fast run far away !! Lisateave

The room was very confortable and the front desk staff was excellent. I was dissappointed the pool was closed for repairs. The heat index was in the 100s during our stay...the pool would have made the heat more tolerable. The hotel offered a continental breakfest but most of the food was gone by early morning. The hotel staff were nice and the location was fine but the best thing about the room itself was the shower had good water pressure. The water temperature was inconsistent during the shower from cool to really hot. The pool was closed which was only a slight annoyance. Not much about this hotel was as advertised. The pool is broken, the bar and restaurant are under new management, while friendly, were very unprepared to have a customer base enter the establishment. The hotel is nothing like the website at all. It looks amazing on the website. The pool was under construction so we could use it. The room was suppose to be deluxe with fridge and microwave, neither of which was in the room. The room smelled like a musty basement. The hotel was in very poor condition.

The cleanliness of our room was good, but we were short on towels. There were only two bath towels. The hotel is definitely older and it shows in the wear of the carpet and furnishings and the outside of the hotel was not kept up well. The pool was under maintenance so we were not able to swim. We were given a game pass to the arcade across the street […] - but it was only good for one game so we spent the amount of money I saved on renting this room (instead of a different hotel) on the games since we didn't have the pool for entertainment. I probably would not stay at the Carlisle again with my family. It would be fine if I was just traveling through and wanted a decent bed for the night. Lisateave

It was disappointing as the pool was closed for some maintenance. Never got notified. Checked in around 6 pm. Lady said we could go up the street 4 blocks to swim. Very clean and customer service was good, however the room was in need of repairs. Half of the outlets were broken and unusable, the bathroom door didn't shut, the drawers were missing handles, and the room was a wifi dead spot.

I stay in a lot of cheap hotels and don't expect luxury at the price of this hotel but we were very disappointed with this hotel. We have stayed here before for half the price and had a much better experience. This time cost more because we happened to be there during the college world series. We chose this hotel because it had a pool only to find out […] the pool area was being used for storage and was closed. Also we paid for a "deluxe" room with a pull out sofa, fridge, and microwave but didn't have any of these in our room. I don't expect much from a continental breakfast but 2 kinds of cereal and bread is a joke! Pictures on the sight are, shall we say, optimistic. When I checked my presence seemed to be a major incontinence to the clerk. Pool was closed. Decor was laughably bad. Even the tp was third class.

We had no hot water during the entire stay, apparently the hot water heater broke down. ( why couldn't it be fixed on a Friday ? ) When we arrived Thursday night a billboard said cocktail hour 6 - 8 p.m. We were there at 7 p.m. when we went to the bar, the cleaning people were still cleaning, and the bar was not set up. ( ice, money, etc. )

The hotel did not have hot water all weekend! The pool was out of order. One of the front doors is broken. The TV remote was missing batteries. The continental breakfast was a joke. And there is a "club" on the property that was surrounded by police officers on Saturday night. It looks like the hotel owner has given up on this property. The hotel is older but the rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. When we arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon (5:00pm) we were informed that there was no hot water and that we could cancel without penalty (which was nice) However, the conference we were in town to attend had caused no vacancy anywhere in town-so we were forced to stay-however […] the hotel did offer a half price refund for the inconvience-which was also decent. The next morning we had to leave by 5:30m-but we were assured the problem would be fixed by that afternoon-well we arrived back at 7:00pm to still no hot water! The hallways are shabby and not clean, the public restroom in the lobby was dirty with the trash overflowing-and was not emptied our whole stay-also the pool was not in working order-the outside of the hotel was unsightly(as to landscaping and trash) Too bad-I used to stay at this hotel years ago and it was beautiful then.If we could have found an alternative hotel we definitely would have moved-even though the stay was very inexpensive in the end. Let's be honest, you are looking at my review because you saw the price point and you wanted to know if you would get stabbed or if its a bed bug nightmare. And the truth is, it isn't either one of those. I'll get the positives out of the way. The front desk was very friendly. The room was very clean. It's very easily accessible to the downtown area […] and I-80. It comes with a free breakfast too (as long as you like toast, bicuits and gravy or cereal). So why so cheap? Well, when we got there, the boiler was not working. They offered us a 50% refund if we still stayed, and we were only there for two days, and I'm used to cold shower camping, so we stayed. The pool didn't work either. It was one of those rare early May days where the highs were in the 90s, and if you wanted to chill some beer using the ice in the ice machine, you were out of luck. We were able to get about 2 solo cups of ice, then it stopped working. By the way, if anyone ever offers you the half off through hotels.com, know that it doesn't work like that. Hotels.com offers you some kind of coupon for your next visit. Not really the same thing. But what the heck, experiences like this are what vacations are made of. Lisateave

Dirty, unkempt, poor maintenance, no hot water, smell of weed in the hall, and on and on. The only reason we stayed is because there were 40,000 visitors in Omaha for a Berkshire Hathaway Stockholders meeting. I am sure Buffet does not own this place.

Here are the "highlights" of my stay: *Had to call 5 times over the course of an hour to get anyone to answer the phone; when someone finally answered, I was placed on hold for about 10 minutes. I gave up and decided to deal with my question when I arrived. *The first room had a shower that didn't work, so we were moved to one of the suites. That […] was acceptable. *When we called down for another pillow (for the pull-out couch, even though there was supposed to be one in the room) and 2 extra towels, we were told that they didn't have either available. A 2-bed suite with pull-out couch was only equipped with 2 full-size towels at check-in. *We were told that housekeeping could drop off extra towels when they arrived at 6; they were not dropped off. When I went to the front desk to ask for them, I was given 2 pool towels. *While I don't expect a bed spread and blanket to get washed every time, I was disturbed by the amount of hair that was present on them. *The sheets/pillow cases were extremely thread-bare. I was afraid that sitting on the bed would cause them to rip. *Both the elevator and pool were broken. *While the staff was nice, they were either incompetent and/or not given the appropriate resources to staff a hotel. While the rate was reasonable, the quality was very poor. I had stayed in a $35/night motel the night before that was heads above the quality of this place. Save your money and hit the Super 8.... Arrived late . Hotel staff friendly. Went to room had to assemble bed frame before sleeping. Dust mice(balls of dust and lint) were under the bed, several of them. Also along walls in the open. The hotel is OLD and very poorly maintained. The breakfast was terrible and they had run out of juice and coffee at an early time. Overall room service was nor good. I will never stay at this hotel again.

My husband and 20 month old daughter stayed here and it was awful. They put him in a room next to the bar with a rock band performing until 2am and when asked to be moved to a different room it didn't have a fridge or microwave. The carpets were dirty and the bed was hard. Totally not worth the $ we had to pay for the night.
