My wife and I stayed here on Valentine's day to wrap up a week long trip in Death Valley. It was a little frustrating to book a room two months in advance and not have the requested room ready, but they held our bags and it only took an hour. I knew about the $16 daily resort fee ahead of time, so that wasn't any surprise and some of that is supposedly […] paying for the wi-fi and LAN connection in the room, which is nice and fast. The room itself was nice for the price, the bed was wonderful and everything was clean. This is a place I'd happily stay again if we got a good deal on the room. When we're in Las Vegas, we tend to end up in the Monte Carlo casino anyway, though we're not really into gambling much. The buffet was good, but I felt like I was entering a high-security government building as they only let people in one at a time after ID verification. Lisateave

"Not so good"
I could not get over the fact that I prebooked my room for my annerversy and ended up with two queen beds. It was not even that nice for the price. I have stayed in better motel sixes. They seemed to try luxury but failed in all attempts.

"Not what you expect from a Strip hotel"
We booked this hotel on the strip with the expectation of it being all the reviews said it would be. Our request was for a non-smoking room with a pool or strip view. After a 30 min. wait to check in (there was only 1 person in front of us so who knows why it took so long), we were given a room high up in the building. The first thing I noticed was […] the small size and worn look of the room. I mean come on....if I wanted a standard looking hotel with chipped nightstands and peeling wallpaper, I would have booked at Terribles or Hard Rock. Upon looking out our window, we had a fantastic view of.....the parking structure. I called and asked to be changed to a room like we had requested. After 30 more min. waiting in line, we were given a pool view room. The only thing is, no one ever told us the pool was closed and being sand blasted. The first thing we noticed in our new room was the horrid smell of mold. I flagged down maintenance and they came in and sprayed this god awful spray that made our eyes burn. Then they looked at the AC and determined that the motor had gone out. 2 hours later and a new AC motor and filter, and our room was finally able to be occupied. For what we spent on this room, it was a huge disappointment from a hotel that is supposed to be a luxury place. Oh, and they had the gaul to overcharge for the "resort fee" (supposed to be $16....my card was charged $50) when the pool was closed, and the workout room non-existent. I am still disputing the fee. "Do not stay at Monte Carlo Hotel"
We booked our room pre-paid on Dec. 23, 2011 for Feb 9-12, 2012. We booked a King Size bed. When we checked in, no King Size, only a Double Queen available, which actually felt like 2 double beds. No hair dryer for my wife, and no coffee maker. Not until 3:00 p.m on Friday were we able to move to a new King room. The result was a different floor, different […] elevator choices, and an equal 200 yard walk from 1st room, change elevators to 2nd room. More attention was paid to the lobby than both the rooms and customer service. In fact, customer service was less than desirable--being politically correct. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Lisateave

This was our first time to Las Vegas. We enjoyed the hotel and how close it was to everything. The beds were very comfortable. Walls were a little thin, but our stay was during the week, so it wasn't that crowded. The buffet that came with our stay was good. We did reserve a king bed, but there wasn't one available so they gave us two queen beds. I asked for a non-smoking room; and they gave me a room that was on a non-smoking room; but the room smelled horribly of smoke. I asked for a new room and they said they would get me in there; and I stood in the hallway for almost 30 minutes before I went down and got a new room assigned to me. "Oh, I'm sorry sir" doesn't work anymore in this day and […] age of compartmentalization. Someone needs to realize that we deal in a modern age, and the response should be appropriate for the age (i.e. comps, discounts, referrals, show tickets etc.) ... That didn't happen. I felt the hotel room was a little outdated and not as clean as I'd like. Also, you could HEAR everything through the walls including my neighbor blowing his nose. Totally disgusting. I don't think I'd stay there again. I did have the best steak ever at their lounge/restaurant, great dinner!!!

I've stayed at the Monte Carlo before. The location is good. Next door to the City Center and walking distance to other hotels. I think when a room is booked and an "upper floor, view" is specified it should be noted that it may be a mountain view. I took a friend that had never been to Vegas and paid extra so he could have a view of the "Strip" Instead […] the view of was of the mountains. It was pretty, but not the "Strip" I was hoping for. "So So"
I was looking forward to staying at Monte Carlo, seems very nice from outside and for the most part the lobby, casino, food court, the pub, everything EXCEPT our room was nice. For the same price I could've stayed at TI again but wanted to try something new. (Bad call) The room had damaged furniture, the adjustable arm on the bathroom mirror was broken, […] there were tears in the wallpaper but the biggest problem were the paper thin walls. We expected some late night peeps around us on Super Bowl weekend but it was like they were in the same room with us. At the end of the day, I'll be sticking with the other casinos for the same price. Lisateave
As soon we checked in we were charged with additional charges that that we did not know about as we were pre-paid through your website. On top of the additional fees, we were taxed. So we ended up paying about $40.00 more that we did not know it was coming. Poor customer service.

Room was decent, hotel is fairly nice, it was crowded and the wait for the elevators was a bit annoying but otherwise not a problem. For some reason certain types of drinks cannot be comped which are had never experienced before...
If the room wud have been a little bit bigger for 2 couples than that wud be a gud stay. Room just felt small and everythings was just a step away.

beds are sink holes; no internet except on tv . 9.95 per hour took 30 minutes to access Google. 15.95 service charge/day for internet. when you complain you get attitude and empty promises. they didn't replace soap in three days. Motel 6 is better by light years.
