North Delhi is also known as Old Delhi. Regarded as the capital of Muslim India from the early centuries, it is home to a number of forts, monuments, and mosques. This fortified city has a long and remarkable history. This area was on one occasion bounded by strong protective walls, of which only fragments remain. Even these days, the remains of its magnificent history can be spotted in Kashmiri Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Turkman Gate, and Delhi Gate. North Delhi is further characterized by the bazaar of Chandni Chowk, one of India's most famous wholesale and retail markets, situated opposite to the Red Fort, and by the Jama Masjid which is the biggest mosque in India. A tour of North Delhi is all about age-old buildings, crowded lanes, an array of food, and lively bazaars. Visitors can enjoy shopping for electronic goods, jewellery, stationery, footwear, and woolens at reduced rates.

"Great hotel, a little hard to find"
This is a great hotel. The service was amazing, the grounds and pool were beautiful, and it was surprisingly peacefu for being surrounded by the chaos of Delhi. This is just a half-step below some of the five-star super-high-end places in town, but it is still alltogether a great place to stay. My only complaints were (1) there was no thermostat in […] the room, and you had to call the front desk if you wanted it cooler (and even then, it was a little warm at night), and (2) it proved remarkably difficult for cabs and autorickshaws to find. We got a ride back from various locations at least three times at night, and no one could find the place. It got to be a little frustrating. Its about a half block from a new metro stop, though, so that is how we got around most of the time during the day - which was great. All in all, for the price, you get a near perfect 5-star hotel, in a location that is a little bit removed. If you can get a deal online, it is totally worth the extra money over a budget place. "Beautiful hotel, huge rooms, expensive restaurant!"
We stayed in this lovely old Colonial hotel for one night in December. The rooms are massive with very high ceilings, but are very sparsely furnished which makes it feel a bit empty and not very cosy. The bathroom has a shower and bath in one. Unfortunately, as was the case with most of the hotels in India, getting the water temperature correct was […] very difficult! The cold water didn't work at all in the bathroom so to flush the toilet we had to use the bucket from the rubbish bin and fill it up from the bath tap and put in the top of the toilet. The hot water worked, but it wasn't piping hot. Since we only stayed here for one night, we didn't bother complaining about the water issues. The restaurant at the hotel had amazing food - was acutally the best Indian food we had in our entire India trip! The one thing that they could work on though is the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar - it was very quiet and they had really bright flourescent lighting. We felt the need to whisper. The hotel seems to be not very close to anything like restaurants, bars, etc. Even though it was a really nice hotel, for the price we paid, I wouldn't stay here again. Lisateave
"Colonial Luxury"
The Maidens Hotel is fantastic. The hotel is one of Delhi's oldest hotels, which is apparent with its colonial style and charm. The rooms were Big and spacious, exceptionally clean and after flying from the UK I had no trouble sleeping. The rooms are very quiet, we didn't hear any other guests while in our room. The room, comprised of 3 rooms actually. A […] lounge - with a "large" LCD TV sofa, desk and chair. The bedroom - with another Large LCD TV, a walk-in wardrobe, 2 chairs, coffee table, two bed-side tables and twin beds (as we had booked the twin). The Bathroom/Toilet - BIG spacious bathroom, with a separate bath and shower glass cubical, marble floor and walls. The Entire hotel is very clean, and all staff bowed and said "good morning" when walking past them. The pool was great, very deep (although they say no diving), and the water was warm/hot. Basically this hotel is Value for money, clean. Ideal for the Old Delhi Railway Station too!!! it about 2km away Lisateave

"lovely but a little shabby"
More run down than I expected for the price. Sparsely booked, but they refused to accommodate a late check without a half day charge. I booked airport transfer with hotel: one trip was $40, another was $12. Odd.

きれいで清潔でした。 お湯もちゃんと出ました。 事前にメールで問い合わせをしたり、送迎タクシーを予約したりした時も迅速に返信があり安心できるホテルだと感じました。 サービスも丁寧でよかったです。 中心地からは少し遠いですが、最寄のメトロ駅（シビルラインズ駅）まで徒歩で５分くらいで行けます。 オートリキシャ―を使っても楽に移動出来ます。 お薦めできます！
"Ein perfektes Hotel zum Ankommen"
Ein wunderschoener Ort mit sehr freundlichen Angestellten. Wunderbar zum Ankommen und Akklimmatisieren in der Megastadt Delhi. Fruehstuecksbuffet etwas teuer, aber sehr lecker.
