"Very disappointed"
Looked forward to going to work to avoid being at the hotel. Exterior walk ways/stairwells smelled of urine; no elevator forced me to lug a large amount of paperwork, files & luggage up and down stairs twice a day; only 1 ice machine & 1 vending machine for entire facility; pool area littered with trash & pool water so cloudy the bottom could't be seen; […] room appeared clean but had a musty smell; staff was less than friendly; room key deactivated for unknown reason - had to tote paperwork, files & luggage back & forth to get it resolved. We ask for a non smoking king. She said she had one left. Got into the room and it was NOT a non smoking room. Even had an ashtray in it. Called front desk and told someone most of smoked in there and she didn't have another room. It was not just one time non smoking room. Very old, converted hotel property. Seems all that was changed was the sign. Not at all the standards of the La Quinta brand. Poorly kept room. Room not made up next day, nor replacement items supplied. Additional towels and toiletries to be had at front desk. Breakfast area similar. "Served its purpose"
We needed an affordable place to stay for 1 night. This hotel was ok. The rooms are small and older. We checked in late & the lady at the front desk was MIA. The security guard had to let us in. We were only given keys to one of our rooms and had to go retrieve the other set. We were in need of some extra pillows and blankets, but were told that there […] were none available. One of our beds didn't even have the proper amount of pillows. The beds were comfortable. The hard surface floors weren't very clean at all. I wouldn't let my daughter walk around unless she was wearing her slippers. Breakfast was good, but everything was gone & we had to wait a while for things to be restocked. Old hotel, bathroom was tired - tube nasty underneath with some plastic covering over it. Bottom of door beat up. VERY WEAK coffee both in room and dining room. "Great location and service."
The hotel is very convenient to the Highway. Our first "no smoking" room was next door to an inconsiderate smoker in the next door room (no reflection on the hotel). We checked in late, around 11:30pm. Staff that checked us in was courteous and helpful. We had 2 rooms, one with king and 1 with double, it was fine. Clean but like typical motel, smelled a little different, not sure what. Nice for a quick layover, we stopped just to sleep and breakup a long drive. Free Wi-Fi and breakfast are a plus.
