The W is a great place to stay for couples and families. Very cool and guest oriented. Highly recommend and will go back!

The hotel was great in every respect. We enjoyed the room service anytime we were hungry. The staff has personality plus! Loved the Acura free rides. Fun and knowledgeable drivers. We plan on making this hotel our sister's getaway next year. The BlissSpa was our ultimate treat.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the luxury of staying at a W Hotel. I was able to treat my wife to a spa treatment and all she had to do was go down one floor to get to the spa! Bliss Spa made her feel pampered and she said the skin treatment she received was amazing! We only had one little glitch with the valet service. We left a light on in our […] car and they didn't catch it. When we called for our car the next day they told us it wouldn't start. They did jump it and get it started, but it would have been nice if they had checked and simply turned off the light for us. It was our mistake, but I kind of expected a little more from them for the price they charged for parking. Lisateave

I love W hotels, they are always very good... I have to say the one thing about this one was the elevator, it was very slow. Everything else was pretty great!

I had an enjoyable stay while at W. I location, room, and service were fantastic. My one big complaint was the rate for overnight parking. It was $55/day! That seemed outrageous to me especially since I was there for a week. I would think they would validate some of my parking. Another positive note was the restaurant in the hotel. Overall a standard W hotel; however, do not order the congee from the menu if you are Asian – you’ll be very disappointed, what you’ll get is cooked rice soaked in hot water with a few pieces of bland blanched chicken, ginger, and scallions. It is obvious that the cook has never seen nor tasted real congee.

The W Lakeshore hotel has seen better days and when one travels, minor inconveniences are to be expected. Black mold on the windows was the "line in the sand" for us. The W graciously upgraded and moved us to a suite. Within no more than two minutes of opening the hotel room door, the heater began making a tremendously LOUD GRATING noise. UGH. The repairman […] came to the room and of course the noise stopped. He asked us to call again if the noise returned. Before he could leave the room, the noise returned. This wonderful man removed the offending heater in its entirety and replaced it with a new model. He was our Irish charm as the remaining weekend was without incident. Great Bed, Good Amenities, a little pricey.

The hotel said there was a dj every fri and sat., but when we were there in Feb., the dj was off for the month. Very disappointing. Also said on the site that there was a hot tub, but there wasn't one. Our bedspread was a little stained as well as our sheets, one of the phones wasn't working.

Very welcoming, great staff and nice location. Only complaint is that there is no fridge in the rooms except the bar fridge, but not cold enough for dairy products. Also would be nice to have microwaves in the rooms as well, I know you can ask for them and I did twice and never received the microwave. Otherwise everything else was great!

Love the location right on the lake near Michigan Ave. Great ambience in the lobby and the top-floor lounge. But......time to clean and maybe update a bit. Things in the rooms are getting worn out. Biggest beef is cleanliness.....just didn't feel as clean as it should be. Enjoyed the stay! I will for sure stay again! The pool was cold...that was disappointing. Had the worst mani @bliss spa and the women was very unfriendly...do NOT recommend Bliss.

The hotel was very modern and the staff was extremely nice. The view of the Lake and Navy Pier were beautiful. It was cold during the time we were here so the walk to Magnificent Mile was a bit longer than I would have liked.

This hotel was billed as a luxury experience with upscale decor, etc. However, the rooms were not very big, or out of the ordinary luxurious for a nice hotel. The furniture in the loby was odd, uncoordinated, & uncomfortable to sit on, not upscale. The drink prices were outrageously expensive, & they raised them on the weekends. The whisky bar on the […] top of the hotel was supposed to overlook Lake MI, but that side was always closed, or booked by a private party, so it should not be part of their advertisement. Lisateave

W's are great hotels.. . chic and trendy hotel with amenities and cool bar dining area.. . the parking was $55 a night with valet only however chicago is expensive city ...the valet did put water bottles in my car.. . classy touch....

My experience was disappointing...the hotel felt like a Days Inn - maybe because it used to be a Days Inn. The lobby bar was almost cool - but the fact the restaurant closed at 9:00 (!) made it lame. The room was underwhelming at best - I've stayed at nicer hotels in Qingdao.

The hotel was nice, but pricey ... seemed to be geared more toward the business traveller rather than average family vactationers ($55 a night to park my car seems a bit exhorbitant!). Staff was polite, but not what I'd call friendly. I will say that the concierge was exceptional!

Very modern! The bed was very comfy, but the rain shower was open and tough to get warm in. The bathroom was small without cotton balls or Q-tips. We scheduled a spa day on the last day and my Head-to-Toe facial was wonderful. However, the overall layout of the spa seamed cheap and cold. There were many tiled hallways leading to a small women's locker […] room. The moist sauna was actually the shower with steam and there was one small dry sauna. Not hot pools, cool pools or co waiting rooms. So as a couple, it was a solo experience after check in. There is a nice open bar when you first walk in, four of us sat down for a couple drinks and mussels and enjoyed ourselves (pricey though, our tab was over $250). The location of this hotel was the best part about it! Right on Lakeshore, overlooking the Navy Pier and a few blocks to shopping and dining! The staff was very friendly. Lisateave

The bar up on one of the top floors had great views. It's nice to have that great Bliss spa right in the same building.

To celebrate my mom's birthday, we spent the weekend in Chicago. The W is beautiful, within walking distance to the pier and has beautiful views of the lake and the city. The only down side is that it is not close to a train. If you're OK with taxi or bus service, or if you have a car, this wouldn't be an issue. The staff is wonderful, they are friendly […] & helpful.
