Park Tahoe Inn - South Lake Tahoe

The bed was nice but the room was small. In the cold climate of the Lake Tahoe, it was very disappointing to not to have any microwave in the rooms. Not only this there was no microwave in the lobby either. We had to survive on cold food n had to leave most of the food behind because we could not eat much cold food. When asked, the reception said that […] additional cash was needed to give the microwave. Man I can buy a nice hot meal for that money. Not only this we had to pay an additional resort fee which they say is not included in the hotels.com price. Did not enjoy the stay at all. Lisateave

Very good, great location and awesome price.

Great location. Inn is a couple of blocks to the casinos. Bed was very comfortable. Quiet room. Room safe was a plus. Will definitly stay again.

We have stayed here before in a smaller room so it was nice to have the larger room this time. Room, wifi, bed, location, all were great just were surprised to hear that we had to pay $12 resort fee. Next time I will have to read all the fine print before booking.....

I checked in after a long trip and when I opened the hotel room door I discovered a stranger sleeping in my bed. They gave me a key to an already used room. Embarrasing and shocking. They did not apologize but did take thier time to issue another room whuch was adequate however I did find used candy wrappers and a full opened bag of potatoe chips around […] the side bed tables. I never recieved hand soap but did get shampoo and conditioner which I used as body gel and hand soap. the second night my door key didn't work nor did my other friends who where also staying there. They had my bill mixed up with someone else's credit card when I was checking out. Lisateave

To be fair, the beds were super comfortable. We were on the first floor and the ceiling is so thin that you can hear the person above you walking around all the time. The tv had poor reception even though it's cable. The room was very clean, but between the noisy room and the broken tv, i don't think i would return.

Hotel location is excellent. The walls are very thin. Even if folks walk out on the corridor, you hear a loud sound. There were people singing loudly in the night which kept us awake late into the night. Will not recommend this to anyone

old motel renovated beautifully. comfortable, quiet, nice staff, conveniently located a block from the gondola. jacuzzi is inconvenient to half of the complex. they need a second jacuzzi.

This was my second time staying at Park Tahoe Inn. It's down the street from Harrah's casino and surrounded by numerous restaurants and plazas. It's also within walking distance from Heavenly Ski Resort. I love staying at this hotel because it's very comfortable yet one of the cheapest around. I recommend it to all my friends.

We enjoyed the comfort of the beds and the location in the village. I was dissappointed with the check-in staff. Didn't talk to us much and asked for our card for incidentals, then when we checked out we had a resort fee charge. I don't mind paying the fee, but would like to be told that we are going to be charged for it instead of it just happening. […] All other hotels when asked for a card for incidentals you aren't charged unless you charge to your room in the hotel, movies etc. Lisateave

For once, all the previous reviews were accurate on this hotel. While being priced well, convenient, and modern, the rooms lack some conveniences found even at the cheap motel across the street. The rooms are very nice and well up-dated, modern furniture with a nice mountain feel. The rooms feel and smell clean. The tempurpedic matress is nice, but […] compares well with my spring mattress at home. Unfortunately, it seems the hotel spent all their money their. The rooms lack individual microwave ovens (apparently its on request). So even with a terrific market across the street, you'll still be eating out every night. The internet is ridiculous -- 10 minutes to load half a page, IF you could even log on. My room was close to the office, but it seemed that logging on elsewhere within the hotel improved connection speeds. But basically, it was unusable. Thankfully I wasn't here on business. Finally, the hotel could have provided a continental breakfast like most others in this price range. For the $12/day resort fee, you'll be wondering where that money is going to. All in all, it was a nice place to stay, but severely lacking in amenities that the competitors easily provide. I'm really not sure if I would book this place again, even though it was an easy walk to the Heavenly gondola. Lisateave

I am so happy we stayed here this year. We usually rent a cabin, but that inevitably involves driving everywhere. With the amount of snow we got, it would have been hard to leave the house! But, since this hotel is so central, we were able to walk to Heavenly, walk to the grocery store, casinos, movie theatre, shopping, etc. and avoid driving in the […] snow or after going out. The rooms are big. They are really nothing special, except for that tempurpedic bed! If you're not planning to hang out much in the room, then this is a great choice for South Lake. The only thing that would have been good to know is that they charge an additional $12 per night for a "resort fee." I have no idea what that's for - I wouldn't really consider it a resort. But still, even with the 12 extra dollars a night it is a fantastic value. Lisateave

If you're visiting for a ski vacation the hotel's location across the Heavenly gondola saves you time and money finding a parking spot. The rooms are no frills but tasetfully decorated and and clean, and the tempurpedic mattress was an awesome surprise that I haven't seen before in a hotel of this category. We stayed here because we were seeing a concert at Montbleu, but I think I would have rather paid more to stay at Montbleu or less and taken a taxi to the venue. The room was clean and the tempurpedic beds were nice, but there wasn't enough parking, I don't know why they charge a "hotel fee". You can hear everything from surrounding rooms and if you […] do stay here I would advise an upstairs room so you don't hear people above you. No continental breakfast :(, the curtains on many rooms were see through so change in the bathroom, which is tiny and hard to get in and out of. Stall showers. Functional, but I am a light sleeper so I would not stay again for the price of this place but it was nice that it was only a couple blocks from big casinos. We had also asked for adjoining rooms at the time of booking (almost 2 months in advance), but on check-in they said this had not been done when they received the reservation like it should have been, so our rooms were about 200 feet apart. Park Tahoe is a upgraded motel and in good condition with the best part being its location (directly walkable to Heavenly gondola). I have stayed here 3 nights and although it is not glamorous, it is safe and comfortable. The only problem is that every night I have stayed I have been awoken by loud people late at night AND then early in am. It is […] definitely not a restful place to quietly stay. Lisateave

Great location to Heavenly Ski Resort BUT grungy and small rooms with thin walls. Facility allows pets so we heard dogs barking next door. Beware additional (per nite) "Resort Fee" tacked on top of room rate. Parking lot fills up on weekends, so much so it becomes difficult to find space. Also, while close to Heavenly Village (250 yards), too close […] for a shuttle and not a short walk with skis. Front desk staff less than bright and not very courteous. Lisateave

Never stayed at an Inn before...but glad this was my first one. Another reviewer mentioned that the exterior of this place was nicely remodeled...and I didn't think it would make that much of a difference...but appearance is everything...and he was right...it felt good that the exterior appearance of this Inn was really nice. Very close to Harveys and […] the main strip...like 1-2 blocks away! The foam mattress was cool....not sure how I liked it although the room was comfy and the bedding was modern. The bathroom was small and felt a little old...but we didn't sleep in the bathroom...so that didn't matter too much... Another reviewer mentioned that it was cold...and we were not cold at all....temperature this weekend was around 57degrees....the heater worked and they had good warm sheets/blankets. Would def come back!! Especially with the free hot cocoa, coffee, and green tea!!! Always a winner to get these for free!!! (in the lobby) Lisateave

So for the price, the rooms and the location were great! There was an older beat up sign just laying against the wall around next to the stairs, that is either left there for repair or to throw away. They should put it out of view. In the same are there was a beer bottle left on the ground next to the trash can. Both of those things were there all week!!! […] No big deal for me, but I thought: "it's not that hard to maintain cleanliness on the outside of the building..." And the $12 extra resort fee PER DAY, for Internet use & parking was a bit too much! Internet was slow too! Lisateave

Location is great. Right in the middle of town across from Starbucks and Heavenly shops. No need to drive to shops or restaurants once you return from a day of skiing. Beds were amazingly comfortable.

Prime location for restaurants, ski rentals, shops, but sound travels right through the walls of the room. Street sounds, noise, drunk people could be heard for most of the night. Good choice for a group of frat guys, but couples beware.

This hotel's main selling point is its location at the intersection of Park and Lake Tahoe Blvd, across the street from two shopping centers, near the Heavenly Gondola, and a couple of blocks from the casinos. It's a slight step up from the nearby motels (e.g. Capri, Blackjack, Avalon, etc.) in terms of newer furnishings and cleanliness but it tends […] to be a littler pricier too. On the down side, the rooms have the same motel layout so the noise levels are not necessarily better than similar places and they need to replace their curtains with ones that are actually opaque. The room was freezing and they only had a wall unit heater that would have taken a couple of days to heat up the room. While the room was non-smoking, there are ashtray/trashcans just outside the door. It is only accesible from the exterior. We have a small child and left. Unfortunately, neither the hotel staff nor the hotels.com staff were able to […] assist us. They only offered moving us to another freezing room with another ashtray outside. Lisateave

This is a weird hotel - or we had a weird room. Not certain which. The exterior was redone very nicely from strip motel to outdoorsy-looking and more modern. Thumbs up on the exterior remodel. The interior, however, left much to be desired. For starters, the mini fridge (which we use to keep a few snacks for the kids in) was in the bathroom. The […] idea of storing food - even in a closed fridge - seemed unsanitary and was off-putting. The room was easily 45 degrees when we checked in and took several hours to warm up. The room had been painted but was already showing scuffs, weird carpet stains, etc. The draft through the bathroom window was so severe you could feel the breeze - same with the door to the room. Finally, there was nothing in the room but the two queen beds, the TV and TV stand. No armchair, no side table, no where to sit at all. The oddest thing is that there was actually plenty of room for those items (which, I think, are pretty typical hotel furnishings). When we were in the room, our only choice was to sit/lay on the beds. The staff was very nice on check-in and check-out. I didn't complain about any of these things because it's not something that can be immediately fixed. We won't be returning. Lisateave

Great location (very close to the Heavenly gondola and shops in the area) awesome beds (memory foam mattresses - had the best sleep) for a great price. Room was somewhat small (but normal for the area) and you can hear people walking around upstairs if you're on the bottom floor. But I would easily stay here again.

The guys at the front desk were relaxed and chill. The beds were absolutely amaazzzinnggg. I'm not kidding, after a day of snowboarding, it was great to relax on one of the temper pedic beds. Just across the way from the Heavenly Gondola and Raleys. The bathrooms are a bit small, but other than that, a fabulous place to kick back in South Lake.

Beds were extremely comfortable and the hotel is located right across from the Heavenly gondola. The hot tub was nice and price was great. I would definately stay here again.

Bathroom setup is awkward along with frame. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The tempurpedic is hard under cold conditions but turn on the heating unit and it softens up after awhile. Location was perfect for our needs. $12 fee really isn't that big of a deal as long as your aware of it. Overall I give it a good recommendation.

Used condom in parking lot when we arrived. Raging party in room next door. No night manager on duty. Called police 5 times. Party didn't quiet down until 3:00am. Enough said?

Comfortable, clean, walking distance to shops, casinos and ski runs. Friendly staff, best hotel Ive stayed in for a low price, very comfortable temprapedic beds. Would highly recommend for those looking for a good hotel on a budget, close and convenient to everything.
