United Inn Syracuse - North Syracuse

If they only redid the outside of this motel it would be a hundred times better! I've stayed in the area many times before but never at this particular place but the hotel I normally stay at, just across the street, has more than doubled their rates. I almost didn't stay at the United because the outside is so run down looking but the inside was fine. […] No luxury hotel, but the room was clean and adequate, the front desk help was friendly and polite and the breakfast was good enough. You wouldn't want to vacation there, but who vacations in Syracuse anyway? Lisateave

This hotel did not have a restaurant and bar as advertised and the whole hotel was smoking which was kind of gross in my opinion. Good hotel if you are a callege student wanting a place to party. Rooms were average size and Wifi did work. Breakfast was cereal and cold coffee.

If your looking for a reasonably priced hotel...this will do. Not the cleanest or most modern..but ok.

well if your looking for a chepo this is it and they have breakfast too , asked for a wakeup call nothing no crib for baby , toilet is like a jail one just push knob . but it did the job i must say and a little moist in the room

I obviously booked this room because it was a good price, but the only reason I considered it was because the reviews were pretty good. However...the first room we checked into was a double instead of a deluxe king as per the reservation. The second room we attempted to check into had a defective key card scanner, so we could not even get into the room. […] The third room had a broken drain in the tub (it would not open) and the dead bolt did not work. The pro's: Attendant was very nice and honest. Hotel is convenient to I81 and I90. Price was good and bed was comfy. That's where the good ends. The cons: At check in, me and my buddy were warned to "be cafeful" by the attendant. Not really the way I like to start a stay. A "Boom Boom" party was going on in the back banquet hall, with plenty of noise, […] cars with lots of bass, and lots of people walking by, yelling and laughing all night outside our door. (and the attendant put us in a room as far away from the party as possible). She also said extra security is also hired during these parties...(extra!...yikes!). For your protection, they also lock and chain all the outside hallway doors, so your room key will not work for doors other then to the actual room doors. The room was somewhat dirty to boot. Really? Really. I went to check out at 5:30AM and where is the night attendant? After 10 minutes I found him sleeping in the lounge in front of the TV. This was not my best hotel experience. Lisateave

We planned a weekend of shopping, first Carousel Mall then Waterloo Outlets. After the mall we drove to the inn, which was ONLY 5MINS AWAY from the mall. It was great after a long day of shopping! The inn was in a decent location, super old facility. needs a major face lift, especially the washrooms. the tub was old, yellow and stained. The room temp […] was hard to control and there was a group of people playing football outside our room, after 9pm?!?! Morning came, breakfast was continental but not fresh. we had to go to tim hortons down the street. we then went to the outlets which was only 30mins away. overall and for the process of the stay, it was good. United INN, Was....Perfect, clean, safe...great choice...... United Inn!!! I usually stay at Military Bases and don't like hotels off base. The United inn was PERFECT and to the highest standard. Was great to stay at. The room was clean, the whole hotel was spotless. The room we stayed in the TV didn't work well on a few channels, and in 5 minutes they […] had us in a new room with someone looking into the TV problem in the old room (loose cord). In the morning they had a buffet continental breakfast. With many choices and fresh coffee. We have kids and a baby. The hotel has an exercise room and Internet hooked up to a computer for guests to use. A steal for the price per night. I would have expected to have to pay double to stay in a hotel like this. This was the right price and right for everything else.They are in the process of renewing each room on one wing. You could see that they are putting some serious money into the wing that they are updating. Our rooms were perfect. Both our rooms had a balcony. This hotel was great. We have NO complaints. Everything was perfect in our late Oct 2011 visit. We wanted to stay longer. We were that comfortable. We have stayed on 2 separate times. Nice hotel. We switched from the Days INN at Carrier Circle. The difference was like night and day. The United hotel is a great choice!!! Well maintained, a cont. breakfast buffet in the morning. […] Very clean. The shower water took a long time to drain from the tub. You have to stand in several inches of soapy water. In the moring, water would come from the drain and filled the tub with about three inches of dirty water. The room heater would not heat the room.The TV was an old tube style TV with poor picture quality. Wireless was not accessable from our […] room and we had to go to the lobby to wireless service. The hotel was clean, quiet and conveniently located. Towels were not placed in room after cleaning, but this was quickly corrected by staff.

Recently, I stayed in this hotel just one night with my family. Around 1.30 am (just after mid-night) somebody banged our door. We were all horrified and jolted from our beds. This banging was repeated several times thereafer. Immediately, we called the hotel reception for help. They said they would send somebody immediately, but no one showed up. We […] couldn't sleep the whole night and we left the hotel early morning. The hotel reception promised to review the security video recording to identify the person who banged our door after mid-night. So far I didn't hear anything from the hotel. Lisateave

We intend to make this our stop off for future visits to our daughter who lives in Toronto.

We picked this hotel as it had a special rate and we need a place to stay while passing through Syracuse. We really appreciate the deal we got through this website, although it would have been worth it for the full price. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit dated, but spotless and the property in general was well kept. We picked […] the location as it is conveniently located to both HWY 81 and HWY 90, so it is a good option for families traveling through. We appreciated the free wi-fi and complimentary breakfast. The United Inn Syracuse was a great place to stay - very clean room, comfortable bed, good breakfast and great location. I will definitely stay there again!

All I know is I went to sleep without any bug bites, and I woke up with itchy bites on my arm, leg, and eyelid.

This hotel would be recommended if you need a halt for just one night, for a longer comfortable stay, this is simply not an option. Hotel was decent, if you expect a bed to sleep and leave next day....any further more expectations will not be met.

It was great specially for us who where backpakin thru da us! We got everything we nneeded here it was clean! Nice neiborhood! Dennys burgerking among some other restaurauns...had a washin room and gym and gave us free internet access to their pc..i recoomend

The Inn was great for the price paid. It was close to all the places we wanted to visit. The frontdesk staff were not all that friendly and the A/C in the room was making alot of noise. But the overall experience was good. I would recommend.

Several issue with this hotel: (1) It is quite dirty, some black powder on top of toilet seat. I think it is mold. (2) Door in bathroom cannot be closed. (3) Wallpaper is falling and hanging in the middle of ceiling

It was very clean and front desk staff was very nice. My boyfriend actully left thousands of dollars worth of baseball cards on vending machine and the were returned to him the next morning. I was impressed. Good place to stay and close to mall.

We arrived at Untied Inn on 9/15/11. That night the people in the adjacent room had loud children screaming and yelling. I call the Customer service line and they called the offending room and things quieted down some. The next morning we asked to be moved away from the noisy room. We were moved to room 231. We left and returned later that night. In […] the morning we attempted to take showers. The tube would not drain, and there was mold/mildew at the junction of the wall and tub.. The conduit at the top of the wall and just under the ceiling was rusted with paint chipping off. There was a painted junction box that was chipping. This was a repeat visit. . There was an outdoor pool, comfortable room, and plentiful continental breakfast. This is a hotel that I imagine was once grand and is still hanging on. Negative items: my door wouldn't close unless I slammed it, they had a horrible big push button flush on the toilet I had a hard time […] using, and the elevator was sort of intimidating to me although my husband loved it's old time atmosphere. Older hotel in need of repairs and updates. The pool (a big deal maker) was closed due to a broken pump that wasn't fixed as it was so close to seasonal shut down. We were on the ground floor; our outside door did not have a working lock, only the chain. However, staff was very willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible. This must have been a beautiful hotel in its day. Much of the place speaks "old". The breakfast to be desired--no orange juice, only English muffins, Bread for toast, a couple of bagels, and cold cereal. The young man at the desk (Eric?) was a nice guy, very helpful and polite.

you get what you pay for. this was bare bones. the pool was "closed for the season" on Labor day weekend...seriously? they were apolagetic but that didn't help much. the room was tiny, dated, and smelled of old smoke. the layout of this hotel is odd - it must have once functioned as a motel where you can get in from the outside, but that capability […] is no longer available, so we had to go down a freight elevator to get to the 1st floor to our room. This place is not the worst, but it's definately not the best. the bathroom had very little space to it, and there was an odd amount of concrete poured between the tub and vanity - presumably to protect this hard to clean space?! the linens were thin and older. it was a nice bonus to have a microwave and fridge. the breakfast buffet was bare bones - cereal, coffee, toastable items, juice. there seemed to be some fruit cups which were out when we arrived. overall this place is ok to sleep in, don't have high expectations. We stayed 2 nights to enjoy the nearby State Fair. We aimed for cheap lodging and we got it. This place is past its prime, from padlocked vending machines and moldy shower curtain, to extension outlets with cords jammed up against the mattress and rattle-n-him AC. Even the roadside couldn't seem to pony up enough illumination to look excited about the […] place. However, we got the rate we wanted, every staff member was friendly, and despite the stink of this smoking hotel, our non-smoking room actually smelled smoke-free. I'd recommend this place to the frugal—and realistic. Lisateave

This is a very convenient location to major highways, however, the condition of the hotel is very old and outdated. Room had very old carpeting and satisfactory bath facilities. The staff was very nice and helpful - no complaints with service.

the outside looked bad but the room was relatively clean and comfortable. For the price-a decent deal.

What a quirky, unclean little getaway. And get away is what we wished to do, after an evening of creaky elevators, strange noises, hair encrusted tub, and a very nice but strange pod-people like staff. Many other lower-cost, airport/highway convenient hotels - try them.

We travel fairly regularly between NJ and Toronto, so have encountered several hotels along the route over time. Our experience began with being given an uncleaned room to start. This was quickly addressed. The room was clean, old-fashioned, but comfortable. We really chose it for the price (it was much reduced) and the swimming pool for the kids. The […] pool was very nice, particularly in light of the heat wave, but there were no towels placed poolside for guests. Not surprising since there only seemed to be one person working there at around 6pm. The breakfast was OK, nothing special. The staff were friendly and helpful. We could have done without the fire alarm going off at 7am because of a tripped wire in the kitchen, but I don't bear any grudges. Honest! Overall, the place is in need of major renovation, but I think it has some potential. They have a nice space and layout with a downstairs bar area (although that wasn't open). If you need to stay a night and aren't too picky, then if the price is right, go for it. There's decent pizza around the corner and good ice-cream across the street. Lisateave

Very nice place, reasonably priced, older but kept in good condition. Nice pool, okay breakfast and a very helpful, kind staff. We had an enjoyable stay and it is very convenient to the Carousel Mall for shopping. We would stay there again.
