The location was absolutely beautiful. The hotel is on the older side and can use some updating. The restaurant was great. Our room was oceanfront with a magnificent view but despite running the ac the room was musty and moist all the time. We arrived early but they didnt have a room for us until 4:15. The hotel was clean, easy to find, and all the rooms had a gorgeous view of the water. The best part was that it was right on the water with private access and it had a restaurant attached - I could've spent my entire vacation there and I would've been happy. There were a couple problems - 1. The walls were pretty thin, I could hear the next door guy […] snoring 2. The front desk staff, after they were done answering my questions, would just walk away, which was a little weird 3. In terms of the location, if I did want to go anywhere else besides the beach, I would have to drive 4. Parking was pretty bad, especially if there were events being held there. But other than that, it was a wonderful experience and I would stay there again in a heartbeat! Lisateave

The hotel is in a fantastic location and on the beach. The staff is very friendly and nice. The hotel is in need of major renovation. The furniture in our room was in bad shape. The bathroom is in need of up dating. The pool chaises were ripped. With a make over this could be a great place.

Stayed here before. Love the location. The only concern is the failing conditions I have been noticing. The ice machine on the first floor was out of order. The exercise bicycle in the fitness room was out of order. The maid was not friendly at all.

Upon entering the room, just before midnight, the odor of mildew was overwhelming. As the hotel was full we had no other choice but to keep the room. They did bring a dehumidifier the next day, which helped a little, but kept the room from cooling off due to the heat it was producing. Went through a 1/2 bottle of Fabreze. There are a few positives, […] such as the recently remodeled bathroom, and the location is excellent as it's right on the beach. We've stayed here a few times in the past, but this was our last. Food from the restaurant was terrific. Room was comfortable and clean. I could easily hear our neighbors doors and they seem to normally close loudly. Little things like not enough ketchup for breakfast were minor annoyances.

We love this hotel located on the beach nestled among the Boca Mansions. Just south of Del Rey beach and north of Boca Raton. We go primarily to stay at the beach. There is an excellent restaurant attached to the hotel so we do not have to leave the area for all meals. The rooms are clean and have a view of the beach. Hallway smelled of mold. Carpets were old so I'm guessing that had a lot to do with it. No beach chairs or lounges. Had to pay a guy $30 for two chairs for the day. The worst part was how loud the doors closed, even if you tried to close it quietly. We were in a small hallway and our door knob was literally 3 feet from the other door on the small hallway. […] They were going in and out until 2AM. The hotel is quite old and showing its age. Location is great, but the pool area and rooms need upgrading. The beds were extremely hard.

Found a cigarette lighter along with dust balls under bed upon arrival, however have stayed there on three other occasions and would recommend it to most 99%ers. Love the pool, hot tub, ocean, comfortable bed, free coffee and newspaper. It is perplexing that you can get a better deal booking with Expedia than directly with the hotel or Priority Club??? […] You would think that staying more than once would get you a better deal and that the hotel would track pattern? Really a beautiful, quite, clean and relaxing place. Really great to sit in the restaurant overlooking the ocean, or you can sit outside dining overlooking the beach and the waves in the evening. Very nice staff, great location, fantastic beach.

Hotel was in a very nice area. Definitely needed sprucing up. We were there for a surprise birthday party for my son. When I came up from the beach at 3:30 to get ready for the party, I found our room had not been cleaned. the cart was outside our room, but no housekeeper. They called her name in the halls and looked for her for one hour but to no avail. […] I was actually worried about her. She finally showed up to clean with no explanation. Almost missed the surprise. Also called for a 6:00am wakeup call to catch flight home. they called at 7. Almost missed flight home. Lisateave

Upon meeting cleaning staff in the hotel, all were polite and kind. However, our main issue was the lack of cleanliness in the room and the bathroom. The clock radio and night stand were full of dust. I dropped my iPhone on the side of the bed and it too came up full of dust. When I moved the night stand to plug in my iPhone charger, lots'o dust. My husband and I found ourselves in need of alternate accomodations at the last minute. After reading the reviws for this hotel we were able to book it and check in with 20 minutes. We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The ammenties were wonderful, loved the pool and restaurant! To top it off we were right on the […] beach. I reserved an ocean view room and got a fabulous spot on the first floor of the tower building. We walked out a sliding glass door of our room, stepped onto our private little patio and on to the beach. That was truly worth the small extra cost. Loved the location - well worth the extra cost for ocean front room, the beach was beautiful! Rooms are decent - could use some remodeling but were clean and not tiny. Food at restaurant was very good - little pricey. Really nice set-up with the pool and hot tub. Overall very satisfied and would return.

Excellent location, very easy access to beach. Always had a hard time finding parking spot, pool and restaurant seemed to be a big local attraction so the hotel patrons would not have parking. Hotel staff did not seem to understand the "yes" mentality.

If you want an ocean view, book a "superior" room, which we had done. The receptionist was putting us in a "standard" room on the first floor overlooking the parking lot, until we pointed out that we had booked a larger room with a better view (and paid a higher rate for it). The staff was friendly and the breakfast, included in the price, was excellent […] and quick and included just about anything on the menu. The front desk person was very pleasant and checked us in without a problem. We were given a map (no one brings your bags or shows you to your room - not sure, if it was the hour we arrived, or if that's protocol). We had an ocean-front King-Size room w/balcony. If you stay here - you only want an ocean view. The balcony had two metal chairs (without […] cushions - so in the morning the chairs were burning up from the heat and in the evening, the chairs were ice cold from the evening breeze) and a table. There is one restaurant at the Hotel - Lattitudes - sort of pricey - but you had no choice, unless you wanted to drive about 20 minutes in either direction. The wait staff at the restaurant are not very friendly. It's like they are doing you a favor - and this is the feeling you get throughout the hotel. One thing they did do - they did honor late check-out (until 1:00 at no extra charge. Be prepared...everyone is old - we are 61 and 68, but I felt like we were at the assisted living hotel. If you need to stay in the area, drive about 20 minutes and stay in Delray Beach or Boca Raton, not in Highland Beach. Lisateave

Right on the Ocean, great area. they are working on the outside...new furniture, but the rooms need serious sprucing up. Food in Latitudes restaurant is above average. Excellent service, in restaurant. Good experience for the price...

While this hotel is a little dated - older, yet spacious enough, bathrooms, older non-flatscreen tvs - our oceanfront room on the fifth floor was very spacious with a king-size bed, sofa, and balcony. The view from the balcony of the lovely, quiet beach and ocean was just spectacular. The bed was very comfortable. The pool area was very pleasant though […] offered no poolside service from the restaurant (with both outdoor and indoor seating) next to it. We didn't eat any meals besides lunch there, but the grouper and mahi sandwiches were superb. The beach is really lovely with pricy lounge, cabana and umbrella rentals available. Free wireless internet and parking were a real bonus. Overall, although we have stayed in resort hotels that were more luxurious (with, e.g., super-modern bathrooms with lots of marble or granite and large flat-screen tvs), we found this the best Holiday Inn we had ever stayed in and the amenities, beachfront location and rooms were really excellent. The fact that the hotel is a little dated means that you can get a great hotel in a top-notch location for a reasonable price. Lisateave

As an example, the breakfast was expensive, but service good. Fantastic beachfront location, you can walk from the swimming pool and be on the sand in 30 seconds. Nothin within walking distance, but plenty a short drive away.
