We came in town for a bachelor party and overall we liked the stay. The location is great, steps from Harrah's, close to some great restaurants (Little Dizzy's, Mothers, Manning's), short stroll to Bourbon Street/French Quarter. *Side note* Go to Manning's, we met Archie Manning and they have Lay-Z Boys set up infront of a massive TV. Everyone made […] it seem like the Hotel was not in the best area, but we found it to be in quite a nice downtown neighborhood and we were out until all hours of the night every night. The pool is the only small disappointment as it was talked up by the sales staff who wanted us to pay $250 to rent a cabana for the day and that did not include anything!!! But the staff was excellent, Hotel was upscale, but overall a great price. My only advice is to limit your stay to 2 or 3 nights max. NOLA definitely got the best of me but i would go back in a second! Lisateave

The hotel is nicely renovated with modern/contemporary designs and furniture. The staff are friendly and concierge is very helpful. Zoe restaurant have decent selections and food are ok. Its closely located to Harrah's casino, so if you like a little gambling its very convenient. There's a lot of different restaurants that's around the hotel. Everything […] is walking distance. Service is good but facility is old, it's close to motel level of quality, not worth the money.

The rooms have no drawer space and very limited closet space. You can hear everything going on in the hall as well as surrounding rooms. Very noise hotel at all hours of the night. We got a great rate but still this hotel was outstanding. Friendly staff, made sure we had what we needed. Bar fun, bartenders a little stressed leading to lack of good service. Location close to quarter, we tend to like being in the quarter but would consider this hotel again.

Hotel was great, staff was friendly, room was beautiful, and location was perfect for a great New Years eve celebration.

I had an amazing stay at the w hotel. Besides all the basics (clean room ect) the staff there was outstanding. Friendly and attentive, they helped maximize my trip by providing me with great Reccomendations on locals only venues and restaurants. Everything I thought it would be and much, much more!! The Hotel Staff was unbelievably helpful and went out of their way to make us have the best experience we could possibly have while staying there! I highly recommend that anyone that has the chance to stay there, DO IT!! It's completely worth the money!

Great stay at the W as always. It was loud just due to the crowds in New Orleans for the U of L game but everyone was good natured and drinking and partying and it really was a fantastic game. Saturday night is always busy game night in NOLA so nothing we didn't expect. This is a great place to stay if you want the French Quarter within walking distance. […] Great staff and great people watching in the bar area. Loved it! The GM could point out to the housekeeping staff to look out for some details in the bathroom. The stafrf is superb but the lack of soundproofing in the walls is beyond tolerable. Please avoid this hotel if you are seeking a good night's rest. Honestly, this property is the worst at sound management.

I have stayed at plenty of Starwood Propertys especially The W brand. So when I arrived at W New Orleans I was very upset, they moved us to 3 different rooms because the first room didnt have our amenties in it. Then the room with our amenties did not have a river view which we had paid for. This was just the beginning. When we got up the next morning […] for breakfast we left our hotel room at 8:30 requested that it be cleaned and that we would be gone for a view hours. On our return back to the room at 4:30pm the room was still not taking care of. Also when we went to breakfast at the Zoe restaurant we sat and wait for 30 mins until someone came to great us and ask if we wanted anything to drink. Even after she took the drink order we waited another 15 minutes until I approached the Hostess letting her know that I was very thirsty. I will not recommend this hotel to ANYONE it was truly the worst experience I have ever had.. Lisateave

My overall stay at The W was good. It is located in a prime location, which was convenient for my stay. The items (i.e. snacks & beverages) in the room are pricey, of course. The structure of my room was kind of awkward; as soon as you open the entrance door, the bathroom is to your immediate right. That space was a bit tight. Hotel was great location and well maintained. Disappointed in the food menu available at the bar, not very inspiring for a New Orleans location. Bar did not have anyone working, was waited on by restaurant hostess (very nice and helpful) as best she could. Guess everyone else walks across street to Mother's. The hotel is great and everyone did their best to make me feel comfortable including $30 credit at the bar! That said I was only going to be there until 3am before leaving for the airport and didn't get the key to my room until after 430pm. This is the worst hotel experience I have had in 20 years. The walls in the hotel are so thin, you can hear every word of conversation of your next door neighbors. They changed my room to no avail. The staff is OK; it's the building that is inferior. I would never stay there again at any price.

For such an upscale and modern hotel, it's a little disappointing you have to pay extra for internet service in your rooms -not that New Orleans keeps you in your room for long. The bathrooms are a little crammed and old, but the room as a whole was clean and comfortable. The Whatever/Whenever service desk staff was wonderful and very helpful to my […] trip planning, as was the front desk staff, doormen, etc. If you want a luxurious experience in New Orleans, W is the way to go. I was attending a Seminar directly across the street at Loews, so the location was great. Harrah's Casino was also across the street, so there was a Buffet and plenty of Video Poker action to spice up my stay. The Hotel is well-maintained, but the Maid did not clean my room the 3rd day of my 3 day stay. I told the Front Desk, in case she was kidnapped, […] but they had no explanation. Lisateave

Clean place and close to everything.

The service is spectacular and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. For a W, though, the property seemed a bit worn. I cannot remember the last time I stayed in a hotel without free internet access in the room, which is rather inconvenient.

We were conventioning, rooms were wonderful, within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. Recommendations for restaurants by the staff (Danny) were fabulous. The entire staff was polites and helpful at all times. The dinner provided by the Hotel at our convention was also amazing. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

The hotel employees were very friendly and responded quickly to requests. Maid service rather slow in preparing rooms from prior quest stay or daily clean up. Breakfast was good but expensive: eggs, bacon, grits, toast, coffee and OJ w/tip was ~$26 for 1 person. Also, the cost to use the lobby PC was $7.95 for 15 mins plus extra cost to use the printer. […] ( airline sign in & printing of boarding pass is no charge ). Lisateave

Was very disappointed with the bathroom. the shower was barely functioning and I really don't appreciated standing in ankle high dirty water. I compalined but it wasn't fixed.

I WENT TO NAWLINS FOR MY 25TH BDAY. GREAT TIMES. IT WAS EVERYTHING I EXPECTED. WITH THE HOTEL RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE CASINO, ABOUT A 10MIN WALKING DISTANCE TO ALL SHOPPING, BARS AND ANY RESTAURANT. THE HOTEL WAS EVERYTHING IT APPEARED TO BE ON THE WEBSITE. CLEAN, EXCELLENT STAFF AND DOORMAN. THEY GIVE U COMPLIMENTARY BOTTLE WATER AND LITE […] SNACKS ALL DAY. THEY ALSO HAVE AN ACURA TRUCK AVAILABLE TO CHAUFFEUR YOU AROUND WITHIN A 7MILE RADIUS ALL COMPLIMENTARY. POOL WAS A LIL SMALL BUT THE WORKOUT AREA AND POOLSIDE BAR MADE UP FOR IT. THE ONLY COMPLAINT, WHICH WAS SMALL, IS THE LACK OF THEM CLEANING THE ROOM DAILY LIKE WE REQUESTED. OTHER THAN THAT THIS IS A GREAT HOTEL TO STAY AT. IM HEADED TO MIAMI IN SEPTEMBER AND IM PRAYING THEY HAVE A W HOTEL THERE!!!! AWESOME EXPERIENCE FOR MY FIRST TIME IN NEW ORLEANS.. The hotel's customer service was absolutely wonderful. They were extremely nice and accommodating but the room was horrible, the bed slept terribly, and the bathroom was rather dingy. They decorated in nicely in their contemporary theme but that being said it just wasn't what I had hoped for. Considering the money you have to pay I would say save it […] and stay somewhere else. This Hotel Has a beautiful presentation. Beautiful decor and many lounging areas. Zoe Restaurant with in the hotel has great food and if you eat at the bar you will never be bored with bartender, Rashad's stories. The entire staff is friendly, especially Mr. Kevin at "Wheels" (the valet service). Although I didn't take advantage of this service because […] I had my own rental, they do offer a complimentary "taxi" service by Acura. They can drop you off anywhere and you just have to cab your way back to hotel. The pool is a nice treat with plenty of lounge beds and cabanas with TVs in them. The only reason why I didnt rate this hotel higher us because when I checked into my room, although my room looked and smell clean, my bathroom was not. It appeared as if the cleaning staff decided to use the bathroom right before they left my room so the bathroom was not flushed. When I brought this up with the front desk, although they where very apologetic, and send someone to clean bathroom, I was dissapointted they did not do anything to make up for it. My husband and I are locals and decided to be tourists in our own town (have done this several times and always enjoy). This was our first time at The W. The hotel room itself was very beautiful and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great drinks at the bar. Would not, however, recommend ordering breakfast via room service. The food was terrible, […] and there was no consideration for food allergies. Very problematic. Also, we had a problem with loud, very drunken guests both nights we stayed at this hotel. Overall, I would say this hotel is very beautiful and would not mind having a drink at the bar but would not stay here again. Between not sleeping much because of loud, unchecked guests and a run-in with food allergies, I have to say this was one of the most miserable weekends we've ever spent in the city. This was our first time staying at a W Hotel. It is part of the Starwood Hotel group (Westin, Sheraton, etc.), and we expected it to be to the standards of other hotels in that group-- especially since it was advertised as "luxury." It was certainly NOT a luxury hotel by any stretch. It was the best price in the specific location that we were looking […] in, so we may have booked it anyways, but we wouldn't have been disappointed if we'd known it was basically the fake Fendi of hotels. Yes, there was valet, but that stops being a plus when it literally takes longer for them to get your car than it does to drive home from the hotel at the end of the weekend! There was no attention to detail; the room was dirty, lamp shades crooked in the hall and in the room, there was rust and dark marks on all the chrome surfaces. The "pool" looked great in the pictures, but in person it is too small for swimming and at max capacity with the five people wadding around in it and drinking. Also, if your weekend plans include sleeping through the night, bring earplugs because you can hear every voice out in the halls loud and clear. The walls are thin. And the people who stay here clearly have watched way too much Jersey Shore. Bottom line, if you don't plan on sleeping and you don't mind unkept accomodations and you will park your car yourself at a lot down the street, then the location is great if you can get it for a relatively cheap price. Otherwise, spend a few more bucks and stay elsewhere. Lisateave

This hotel is a very typical W hotel in many ways. The decor and vibe are very W like. I also usually find W hotels to be fairly loud and raucous in general especially if they have a nightclub or bar in the lobby. This hotel was loud in the main areas and also the hallways. Many of the rooms have adjoining doors and you can hear people talking at a […] normal level next door. The first room I was in had an adjoining door and I could hear them blow their nose. They were a loud group, so I asked to move. The staff were great and moved me to another room without an adjoining door! This helped a great deal. The vent ducts for air conditioning however are poorly designed. I could hear very clearly conversations and other noises through my air conditioning ducts all night. I could be in the bed which was a good 10 feet from the duct and hear people. Weird. Haven't had that problem before at a hotel like the W. The room was in decent shape, wasn't super clean. Housekeeping was missing a lot. The food was great! Room service was good, arrived fast and hot. And the hotel cafe was good. Wouldn't stay at this hotel again if I came to Nola, probably try something different. Also it is within walking distance to the French Quarter, about a mile. Lisateave

The location of the hotel was wonderful. Staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. I was very disappointed that bathrooms were very small with no room for tolietry items. Was not impressed with cleaning of the rooms. When looking for something that fell behind couch found dirty towels and t-shirts. Appearance wise very pleasing. The staff at the "W" was wonderful.

We found the hotel and staff very accommodating. The location of the hotel was convenient to the sights and restaurants we wanted to visit. Room was initially very clean but could have been vacuumed a little more often after first day.

Good for the price we got it at, nice location in between Garden District and French Quarter.

Recently had a weekend getaway with my wife for our anniversary. Enjoyed our stay at The W. Probably the friendliest staff we've ever encountered! The room was kinda small, but it was nice with a modern styling. I'll call it cozy. All in all, great weekend, great hotel!
