Clarion Hotel Airport/Graceland Area - Memphis

It was ok. I'm not very picky about where I stay. Group of us went down for Beale St music festival and most the hotels were booked so we had to take what we could get. The price might have been jacked up for the event. I'm not sure what it cost per night normally but it was $100 per night for us. For the quality of the room I think it is maybe worth […] $40 per night. There were stains on our bed spread, the window did not close all the way and our room phone didn't work. However, the service was good and the staff was friendly. They offered to give us another room but we already had stuff all over the room and didn't care to move. It served the purpose but probably would not stay there again for what I paid. The pictures made it look real nice, not as nice as pics. Lisateave

Room service was in efficient, made service was non existant. The elevator broke the 1st night. My wake up call never came. The last night the maid came in and took all the towels and didn't replace them. And didn't tidy up the room properly. Front desk was quite clueless. The condition of the hotel was poverish. Donot waist your money.

I loved my stay!! All of the staff I met was friendly and accomadating. They went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and they did it with a smile. Room was large and extremely clean. I already recommended them to family and friends. Looking forward to my next stay.

About right for the price. Nothing special but the hotel seemed full, staff was nice, area didn't seem shady and the room was relatively clean. I can't say it was spotless but it wasn't the kind where you wanted to sleep on top of the covers fully clothed or not take a shower. There was also a fitness room and bar/restaurant. Hotel looks nice but dont be fooled. Lots of things did not work in the room including having the phone jack pulled from the wall. So no phone for us. There were other things including the neighborhhod that is not so good. People smoking(not just cigarettes) outside of hotel, and the people that frequent the place are troublled. Lots of noise.--- But […] the MAJOR problem we had was that we found a bed bug on the pillow. Needless to say, we were out the same days although our vacation had not ended yet. Lisateave

The area isn't the best. But, it isn't the worse either. The rooms are very decent. The staff is very friendly. They have two bars. I encountered a problem only once but it was resolved.

The toilet stopped working but when we mentioned it to the front desk they went out of there way to make it right they even bought us breakfast the next morning. This is a great hotel for the money. This will be the only place we stay when we are in memphis

I read all of the previous reviews of various "low priced" hotels in the Memphis area and chose this one. Honestly, most of Memphis is old and rundown, I saw more homeless and other locals walking the streets downtown where the pricer hotels are, than where this hotel was. This hotel is gated around the perimeter, the parking lots are lit well, the […] staff greeted me friendly. I asked for a corner room away from any noise or large parties staying there, and I was given a corner 4th floor room. The ONLY reason I am leaving 4's instead of 5's is because some of the lamps in the room did not work, and the shower took about 5 minutes to warm up. Other than that, the bed was comfy, 2 sets of pillow types to use, bathroom was clean, flate screen TV had around 70 channels to choose from. This is a large hotel, so if you don't like the room you get, just ask for another. Not sure why people complained so much, this is a older hotel for a low $39 price....this isn't the Peabody for $150+!!! Lisateave

Where do I start! The hotel shuttle took over a hour to pick me up at the airport, when they told me it would be only 5-10min. After 5 phone calls I finally took a Taxi cab to the hotel and once I got there. The hotel wouldn't pay for the cab and stated they had a shuttle I just had to wait for it. At 11:30pm I was done waiting. I then asked to set […] up a shuttle at 8am to take me back to the airport. The shuttle didn't even arrive until 9:15am. The excuse from the driver was, "I didn't know I had a shuttle run, maybe you should of told someone" And lastly, the room was clean though the carpet had a lot of stains, the bathtub fiber glass was pealing, the air dryer fell out of the wall while I was using it and the Iron was nasty. Good location from downtown and to interstate but not quite up to standard. Needs major cleaning and updating. Shower broke on sencond night and both rooms I booked had key issues by the second day. Elevators were barely working. Would not recommend

This hotel was in a good location. There was a nice and friendly staff with southern hospitality. However, the beds did not have fresh linen and the bedding was wrinkled and unclean.

I watched the hotel transform. Its beautiful. However, guests are starting to tear up the new beds, and I think actions need to be taken to preserve the renovation. The hotel was mismanaged. The shuttle service is spotty at best- we ended up taking a taxi. The clientele were some of the strangest & scary people I've ever witnessed at an airport hotel. Several people were screaming at one another for large portions of the night! We stayed here because we were stranded due to hurricane sandy...price was too good […] to be true. I was pleased to get the room I had for the price. It was spacious, had a sofa, modern furniture. It was beautiful and clean. Plus there is a nice bar/lounge on site and a buffet breakfast for$6.99. Staff is friendly as well.

My wife and I spent 3 nights and it was a comfortable hotel with a friendly staff. Bathroom was a little dirty and the shower was not normal. Not a bad location. I would definately visit again. Ask about the shower first though.

I stayed at this hotel in july of 2011 when it was in the first stages of its renovation. It was just ok then. I returned in september of 2012, and I was floored! Everything was just as it was described, and appeared in the pictures. The staff were beyond friendly, and catered to my every need. And I will most definatly return to clarion on brooks in the near future, and forever thereafter! Thank you! Oh yeah, I don't even hear the airplanes because I'm used to it. Beds were fine but the rest of the place is a disaster! I had to crawl over dry wall into an area of the hotel which was yet to be finished to get to the ONLY room in that area that as done. When we first walked in the lobby was deserted. The phone where running off the hook but someone was taking a smoke in the back and could care less about the phone […] or the guest (me) ringing the bell and yelling hello! I stayed there while I attended Elvis Week at Graceland, 10 minutes drive from the Clarion Hotel. A shuttle bus to GL was promised but when we arrived, they would only take us at 12 noon, 2 pm and 6 pm. This was useless, because we had to be at GL at 8 am in the morning, and were there till 8 pm at night. A shuttle on demand would have been better. […] They used the shuttle for their regular clients - fair enough - but they could have taken us to GL on the way back. So we ended up taking expensive taxis to GL. My hotel room carpet was threadbare and had sticky stuff on it. Other than these things, the hotel was fine, the room comfortable, the staff friendly, and good position for GL except for transport. It was very convenient having the gas station next door which sold milk, bananas, etc. I would stay there again when going to Elvis Week at GL. Lisateave

my first experience was where first get to the front desk and the assistant didnt see my stay was already paid off so he double charged my card didnt know until my bank send me an alert a couple hours later that day. then when we were done with the check in, he gave me the key card and thats it, without telleing me where my room was at, how to go to […] it, no information about it, I have to asked him about it. then once we get to the room the toilet looking terrible have to call front deck to to end housekeeping to clean, i called, 1, 2 times and nothing , then almoust 3 hours later we really need to use the bathroom, I have to go down the front desk and tell the guy what was gping on with housekeeping, I wait there until housekeeping get there on front desk then we go back to the room, the guy, service is terrible, we have bad experience there. I was not very happy with my stay. The elevator broke, I was on the third floor. The only ice machine was on the first floor. The telephone cord was chewed up and my phone would not work. When I told the front desk about this they just said sorry and would not fix it, or even replace it with another room that was not being used at the time. I asked […] them for help with this matter and they told me I could walk to the front desk and use the phone there. Breakfast in the morning was scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and toast. I had to wait on one server to bring me mine and it took about an hour to eat breakfast. The eggs were nasty and they did not even provide butter or jelly for the toast, you just had to eat it dry. Room was quiet and clean. Elevator and hallway carpet was very very dirty. Lot's of people up and down the hallway, don't believe they were staying there. Went to resturant for denner, they only had sandwiches and hot wings, like another couple that came in and left without eating, we wanted a nice meal, not lunch items.Leaving I was loading my car […] and a young man was standing there watching and ask me what my problem was. I quickly loaded my car and left. He was not staying at the hotel but was on the property and went inside. He was with a group that was in vans on the other side of a large fence. The hotel met me and my husband basic needs while we were in Memphis. It was clean and offered morning buffet breakfast. There wasn't anything for dinner but we left and went to popeyes. Out of 5 vending machines and 4 ice machines, only 1 of each worked. The room was clean, but the elevators, and other areas were not. If Clarion really owns this hotel, they need to go take a look at what their name is on. I was really embarressed to take my family to this hotel. Would not go back.
