Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk - San Antonio

Loved the hotel and location. Right on the river walk and very convenient to river ride. Hotel staff was very gracious, just a few things that didn't go over so well. Room was wonderful with balcony view of downtown and river. Only problem... there were cigarette butts on the balcony. Room didn't smell of smoke and they may have blown down from another […] room after maid had cleaned. No working icemaker on our floor, but when I called to find out where the nearest one was located, the staff had ice sent up to my room. Biggest problem I had was with the breakfast. Not complimentary, so you pay. You can pay for the "All you can eat" buffet or order what you would like. I would not recommend the buffet. Everything I put on my plate, eggs, bacon, biscuits was cold. I even waited for them to bring out fresh biscuits and they were ice cold. At least I had one warm one because the gravy was warm. I see this as a management problem, not one of staff (all were gracious). They need someone who knows what they're doing to manage the kitchen and buffet area. I would recommend the hotel...it was very clean, location was great, staff was amenible......just eat elsewhere. Lisateave

Great Hotel Great Service

We went for a Track Meet, and ended up going during "Fiesta Days" , It took us an hour after we left the freeway to get to our room, then the parking was horrible and crowded, they played music until 2am and we heard it all the way on the 30th floor. The elevators were slow and it took us 30 minutes of waiting for elevators to just get to our room or […] the lobby because we were stopping on all 30 floors. Crowds of drunk people everywhere, couldn't leave the hotel for food because it would take hours to get out and back, then the food at the hotel was PRICEY. Kids eat free ONLY if you order off the kids menu, but we were never told until we got the bill. Same at breakfast, ordered the Kids buffet, but was told at the end buffet wasn't free...SO WHAT WAS?? Will never stay there ever again. Lisateave

We drove to San Antonio for a family vacation. We spent the day at Seaworld but wanted to stay on the riverwalk for the great variety of restaurants and scenery. The hotel was great. Very clean. Accomodated our request for a mini fridge (as the room did not have one). We had a view of the riverwalk (cost $20 extra). Valet parking is expensive $30. Room […] service was quick and pretty good, but pricey. Overall a great place to stay on the riverwalk due to it's location. There are many restaurants and the rivercenter mall within easy walking distance, and you never have to go to street level. Lisateave

Not a 4 1/2 star hotel for sure.

This is the Riverwalk across the street from the Marriott River Center as I found out. My wife and I had a wonderful stay here. It is right on the river walk and central to everything... Mall, Riverwalk, Restaurants, Convention Center, Alamo, etc. Amazing Breakfast in the hotel restaurant! Best bang for the buck. I will definietly stay here the next […] time we are in San Antonio. Overall our stay at the Riverwalk Marriot was a 2 out of 4 stars rating. The customer service was not very friendly, took forever to bring towels to our room, and never cleaned our room when asked. The checkout was very easy.

I have never seen such slow elevators. Maybe because the hotel was full. I think it was okay nothing stellar.

Check-in was easy, accurate and very pleasant. The room was pretty standard, with tiny bathrooms, yet it was was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is somewhat small in its public spaces. In meeting my co-workers in the smallish bar, the bartenders were less than professional while waiting for the remainder of our group. One round of drinks […] didn't burden them, yet they appeared to be doing us a favor. The hotel is adjacent to the River Walk which is a plus and across from the convention center which is also a plus. Internet connection is $24.99 per 24-hours, which is somewhat high. Overall given the choice if staying for more than one night, I would stay elsewhere. Other hotels in the area offer larger rooms and reduced prices on Internet or free Wi-Fi. Lisateave

I particularly liked the location of this hotel since I was attending a football game at the Alamodome. We walked over very easily (although when I called the hotel to ask about parking and walking, the young woman said she would not walk it herself!) Well, all the fans were walking and we did too. We were able to check in early (at 11 am) which was […] so convenient and park at the hotel. A good choice and I recommend the hotel which is also on the San Antonio Riverwalk for those persons who want to experience that attraction. Lisateave

We recently visited San Antonio and stayed at the Marriott Riverwalk. This trip was last minute and we were not sure what we would find as far as accommodations. So, to our surprise it was easy and the hotel was perfect. Polite staff, very clean and comfortable room. We would stay again :)

I have stayed at better hotels on The RIver Walk. The room was not that comfortable. Bathroom was very small. The staff was great.

The hotel was great, the food was really good, and the staff was very helpful. We also went to Sea World while we were there. My family and I took the city bus, and it was very convienient. Very pleasant stay and will stay again.

I can't say enough about this hotel. From the bellman to the front desk to the maid, everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. My husband and I will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Too expensive, no free internet just in the lobby, bar service bad, returned food, room too small for the price, two small beds, elevators take forever, waited 20 min. to stop at 11th floor, called the operator and she told me to take the service elevator because some times take too long, Had a lot of better service for half the price in other hotels, […] not close to the bars and restaurants area in the river Lisateave

Nice hotel, great breakfast and right across the street from the RiverCenter Mall

The hotel is in a great location. It was sad to see that the heater to the indoor pool was not fixed the whole week. It was spring break and the hotel was packed with kids. These poor kids had to endure the cold water temperature in this pool!

The heart of San Antonio is the Riverwalk and the hotel name implies that it is right there. On the contrary, its actually on the edge of town on a backwater that eventually connects to the Riverwalk. A little misleading!

Top quality hotel located on the beautiful Riverwalk in San Antonio. The room was very comfortable. You can walk right outside the hotel on to the Riverwalk with excellent dining and shopping. Great experience.

Nice location, great breakfast (included in my reservation by hotels.com), otherwise $20. Very fast check-in check out service. Parking was $25/day ( a little bit expensive), not included in reservation.

I was expecting much more from a hotel like the Marriott. People were not friendly. Mattress was uncomfortable. Mold and mildew building up in shower. Room was very small.

Friendly helpful staff. Even knowledgeable about driving directions. Conveniently located across the street from the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

It was lovely to sit on my balcony and enjoy the river and city lights. Although very hot and humid this time of year after the sun went down it was pleasant to sit out on the balcony and look out on the world. I was attending a conference at the Marriott accross the street and loved that they were able to put the program in our rooms at the Riverwalk. […] Having stayed in both I like the Riverwalk facility the best. We were in San Antonio to visit the Dallas Cowboys training camp. This hotel was the perfect location to walk to the camp, see the cowboys, and relax with friends. We will be back nex year!!

A nice place to stay with great view of San Antonio. Very convenient to the Alamodome--just a short walk. They upgraded my room without my asking. Wish that it had a refrigerator and free parking, though.

When we first got to the hotel everything seemed great. A bellman named Warren helped out with the luggage and brought us ice upon arrival. He was very friendly and gave us a few facts about San Antonio on the way up to the room. The room was very nice. The beds were comfortable and we had a fantastic view. The water temperature was very hard to control […] in the bathroom sink. I had to turn the faucet all the way to cold just so that it wouldn't burn my face off. Once I showered at the same time that one of my neighbors was showering and the water didn't go down the drain until I heard them turn their water off. The big problem occurred on our second night. We called for our car 10-15 minutes ahead as requested. When I called for the car the guy said it would only take 5 min. to bring the car around. I new they had such a small driveway so we rushed down stairs approx. 10 min. after the call. We asked for our car and one of the valets looked for the key and since the key wasn't there, told us that the car was on the way. After waiting approx. another 15 minutes, we asked for the car again. They gave us the impression that they didn't know where the car was. Needless to say, we were upset. I felt as if they took longer on purpose. One of the valets even went as far as to tell us that we should have selfparked if we were going to want the car in a timely manner. We felt that if they were going to charge extra for valet parking then they should do a little something for that extra money. At the end of it all it took us about an hour to get our car. The head valet asked us why we were upset and then told us that he could wave the charges for that day but that there was no way he was going to wave them for previous days. At the time we hadn't asked him to wave anything, but somehow they just couldn't understand that we needed our car. We valet parked our car on Thursday afternoon when we checked in and asked for it on Friday approx. 5:45pm and after that we decided to park Lisateave

Everything about this hotel was just the best!
