Their system was down so I wasn't able to use my $50 reward card as a part of the payment I was counting on, all they say "I'm sorry sir". I wouldn't recommend to pay for the breakfast, you can find much better options for much less right in the neighborhood.

Put simply, I very much liked the city of Hamburg and I thought this was a very good hotel in a great location. The room was comfortable, the bathroom a bit on the small side. But good bed and good shower.

Really enjoyed the stay. Only downside is expensive parking. Rooms are very nice and spacious. Great piano bar also. In a lovely area near lake and city centre.

The hotel overall ambiance, cleanliness and the service are very good and the staff are very helpful. However, there are a lot of addtional charges required, for example there are no free TV programmes provided, any TV channel required payment. The hotel was in a superb position for sight seeing in Hamburg. The christmas markets were within a short walking distance of the hotel and very close to the shopping area which consisted of a mixture of high street and designer. i will return to Hamburg as i have family there and i would stay in this hotel again,in all avery enjoyable holiday.

wasnt impressed by the hidden €60 cost of having a third person in the room. when the booking was made it stated 3 people ! not impressed with either the hotel or expedia with regard to this.

This was a good hotel. Only issue was the room was a smoking room, and stank of cigarette smoke. We would have preferred to have been asked prior to arriving in the room if we wanted a smoking or non smoking room.

This hotel has a fantastic location and is great for restaurants and shopping and in walking distance to the famous "Alster". The only problem is the air-condition! The Marriott hotel is right in the heart of downtown Hamburg, so is very well located. The service at the front desk was consistently top-notch. My room was clean and well taken care of. The only slight negative for me was that I was there during an exceptionally hot spell for Hamburg (34 Celsius that day) and there didn't seem to be any adequate cooling […] system in place to deal with this heat. Also the breakfast in the temporary Executive Conference room always seemed to be a bit picked over and didn't look very fresh when I would get up there, which was admittedly later in the morning. Very good location for the centre of Hamburg. The kids loved the pool and it was nice for the adults to be given towels, gowns and slippers at the pool. The only annoying thing was that to watch any tv, yes any tv, you had to pay 24e PER DAY. Wifi was also hugely expensive.

I am very happy with our recent stay at The Hamburg Marriott Hotel. Right in the centre of designer shops and only 7 minutes walk to City Hall where you can join the hop on hop off buses, the canal cruises and shopping centres. The hotel was located right in the middle of the city with the train station just a block away! Upon check in the children received a small gift from the hotel which was appreciated. I picked this hotel due to the location and the pool. Which were both great! The breakfast and parking were quite pricey considering we have two kids that do not eat much, […] I recommend that you walk through the city to have a breakfast either at one of the cafes (which open at 9AM) or the bakeries that are open even earlier. I took the opportunity to take a spa treatment during the stay while the children played at the pool. Treatment was great room was too close to the swimming pool so you could hear all the noise outisde. But still truly enjoyed. Lisateave

Nice hotel located in a great location. Easy walking to attractions. Breakfast is over priced. I recommend you walk to one of the nearby pastry shops but a much more reasonable breakfast.

Great Location! Walking distance to Rathaus, Planten & Blumen park, Binnenalster, many shops, and much more. If you don't want to walk there is a ubahn stop right across the street! Had just one night in Hamburg, the hotel was reasonable value for money, a great location, rooms a good size, very clean and bathrooms recently renovated. Movies a bit expensive at 18 euro but other than that would recommend this hotel.

Have absolutely no criticisms of this hotel. Perfect location,very quiet. Informative polite staff.Clean bedroom with comfy king size bed and loads of pillows.Bonus points for included iron,coffee/tea making equipment and use of an empty fridge-no exorbitantly priced mini drinks! Pool facilities good and open from 6am until 11pm.Breakfast was included […] in room rate and excellent. I believe internet access expensive but we were on leisure break and did not require. We had a great stay here with our two teenage children. Lovely breakfast, swimming pool, very close to the tube station and the swinging centre of town, and as we were there at Christmas, it was great to have a small Christmas market right in front of the hotel. A taxi to the airport is about 25 euros.

For my party of 7 I had booked 3 doubles non smoking but they gave me 2 doubles and one queen size room smoking - we were not prepared to share a bed. Receptionist was prepared to provide 3 single beds but the room wasnt really that big so after some time and my queston of upgrading to an Executive Room they managed to find us a 2 double bedded room […] - unfortunately without a fridge! but we didnt bother mentioning this as we didnt really need one for 2 nights. Overall - not particularly impressed with the service initially. Hotel was nice - sauna and pool good enough. Didnt bother with breakfast at 20 Euro - found fab restaurant by lake which did a buffet for 9 Euro! Lisateave

Older but well kept hotel. The breakfast was good but they had not enough seats in the resteaurant, so we were placed in a meetingroom without any windows = not good! Seems to be the usual procedure as the hotel is very popular.

Very comfortable room in a great location. Property seems brand new. Good breakfast and good friendly service in the restaurant. Their front desk needs some serious training in customer service. Second time at this hotel, fantastic location for shopping, sightseeing, lake and boat trips. Hotel comfortable and clean, did not eat at the hotel. The pool, gym and sauna areas spotless and plenty of equipment. The only downside was no tea & coffee making facilities in the room, i think this is rather pathetic in a hotel of this quality, trying to […] get that few extra Euros out of you having to use room service, and yes it would put me off staying here again. We enjoyed out stay at the Marriott in Hamburg. The service was excellent, and staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an ideal location, near shopping and historical buildings. Lots of wonderful sightseeing is possible within walking distance. The hotel bar had life entertainment.. The only thing we missed very much is the in-room coffee […] maker. We travelled with friends for my husband's birthday treat to visit the MinaturWunderland. The hotel was lovely, the staff attentive and polite. Our room was huge (we normally stay in budget accommodation) and very comfortable. The TV did not work so I phoned reception and a mechanic arrived 5 minutes later to retune it. Everything was sparkling clean. […] The area was also safe and 'posh'! The Gansmarkt square nearby had a 'Stadt Bakerei' which was fantasic for breakfast. Lots of choice and again, sparkling clean. We queued up one one morning to take the city bus tour ride outside the hotel. The concierge noticed that we were waiting at sent a young lad to tell us that the bus did not stop there in the winter! You will not be disappointed if you check in to the Marriott.Breakfast buffet was great.All staff were extremely friendly.Sauna and pool free of charge to guests was great.Hotel is very central to all shops and walking distance to the station.
