Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort - Lake Buena Vista

The 3 and 5 yr old boys loved the pool, I thought it could have been just a little warmer, too cool for me. But everything was clean and very friendly staff. The bus transportation was pretty close to our room which was very plus since every night both boys were so tired and had to be carried to the room. We had a great stay!

Very nice. Only problem was I needed a wheelchair which was provided free of charge by the hotel. It must have come out of a junk heap! Seat tearing. No cushion, just mesh. Kept pulling to the right making it very exhausting for the person pushing it. For the $$$$$ Disney charges, they could have either provided a better chair or else not provide this […] service at all. Grudging service is no service. Everything else here was good. Lisateave

Very pleasant place to stay. Stayed in Martinique-this or Barbados probably closest to Old Port Royale (food/shops). Room clean. Easy access to Disney parks or Downtown Disney via bus shuttle operated within resort. Without use of taxi or own vehicle no access to shops(other than Disney) should you need. Great children's pool area and each area in resort […] has own pool & laundry located near rooms. Limited food availability at resort with basically only other options being to eat at parks or Downtown Disney restaurants. Activiries offered such as daily movie session was great for a relax after parks during day. Disney Magical Express service from airport & return recommended as is airline check in at hotel Lisateave

We really enjoyed this resort and will definitely consider staying there again in the future. It felt like you were staying on an island resort. Staff was friendly. Resort was clean, and convenient. As expected, the room, food, etc were all grossly over priced. But we did really enjoy your time there. The only complaint about the stay were our beds. […] The mattresses were firm and not comfortable and the bedding was very basic and not comfortable. Tiny pillows that don't fit in the pillow cases, paper thin blankets and rough sheets. Considering how exhausting the amusement parks are, it would be nice to have lush beds to retreat to at night. This resort is very kids friendly and has tons of kids activities. Only complaint is that the rooms ate small and not much amenities in the room. There are no mircrowaves in the rm and you must go to the main port royale food court to use one. We found this very annoying during the same. I would definitely recommend getting the dining plan.

The hotel and pool were fine. The problem i experienced was that the reservation was not confirmed wiht disney and I was stuck without a room for 2 hours. I finally got another room. The disney manager was very gracious and apologetic. I was lucky that i had the printed confirmation from hotels.com. I may not have been able to get a room otherwise since […] the hotel was booked to capacity. Not sure if i would use hotels.com again. Lisateave

Room was clean but not my favorite decor - dark colors, a brown curtain with a pirate on it - a room that young boys would love. My major complaint of the resort is that a couple days were very cold - the bus stops had fans running (which made it worse) but no heaters. For a fancy Disney resort they could have had heat for their guest in some of the […] outside venues. Also, the Internet connection was poor and there were no internal computers available as in a business center. Other than that everything was fine - the staff was always gracious and helpful. When traveling to Disney World Resorts with my family, we usually stay at the Grand Floridian or Contemporary resorts. This trip was a quick layover while in the Orlando area while on business, so I decided to economize a bit and try the Carribean Beach resort. It was a big step down from my previous Disney resort standards and expectations. Everything […] from fixture, to linens, towels, pillows were much lesser quality. The housekeeping was not as thorough, and the room was musty and smelled of bleach. The resort amenities were also considerable downgraded from their premium resorts. If you are looking to travel to Disney on a budget, it is serviceable, but don't expect it to be comparable to the Grand Floridian, Swan, Dolphin, Contemporary, Polynesian or other more upscale properties. Great hotel, very pretty, rooms were ready when we arrived at 11 a.m., we were upgraded from parking lot view to court yard view without even asking, my only complaint was that the telephone handset was dirty, and if you need a wake up call or have messages, you have to use the handset.. This hotel offered the lowest rates the weekend I needed even though I waited until the last minute to look. It was also the perfect location right outside epcot, and the transportation made it so easy.

Too much money for the size of room. If I had to stay at a Disney hotel, I wouldn't pay this much again. The size of the room was comparable to the value priced Disney hotels.

We enjoyed our stay. room was "smallish" but we hardly stayed in the room. The beach area, pool, water skides were good to take a break from Disney parks and the crowds :-)

Long walk to commons area. Disney's Pop resorts offer essentially the same thing for half the price.

Very decent room. The place was packed but we did not hear any noise at all from other rooms. Bathroom is small but perfectly fine. Fantastic grounds and walk along the lakefront. Really enjoyed our stay.

This is a moderate hotel in Disney World I found the room dirty and beds not very comfortable I prefer one of the other Resorts Coronado Springs or the Yatch Club nicer rooms

My biggest complaint would be the rooms themselves. Ours was stuffy and wreaked of bleach when we arrived. The bedding was old, the double beds small, and the fixtures a little dirty. That said, the grounds were lovely, the staff friendly, pool was fun, movies under the stars were great. For the price I would have hoped for a nicer room, but overall it was a good stay and we'd go back for the proximity to the parks and the amenities. Lisateave

The location of the hotel is convenient, due to the shuttle service, which was great! The actual physicality of the hotel was nice as well - a little outdated, but very clean, and the maid service did a wonderful job each day. The maid service was the exception, though, and the downside of this hotel though was the other services. First, our check-in […] was very slow. I don't know if the worker was new or what, but it took about 30 minutes once we were helped, which I think is quite long compared to other hotels. We were also offered a service to put a credit card number on our room key so that we could use that in the park and consolidate. We thought that that was a great service, and asked for it, but when we tried to use it in the park they said it wasn't activated. Luckily we had the same credit card that was supposedly put on the room key with us, and it worked just fine. But if we hadn't brought it with us, we would have been in real trouble. Also, there wasn't a bellhop available to transport our luggage to our room (the rooms are far from the check in area. Usually I never use bell services). This was fine with us since they offered to bring our luggage later while we were at the park. We took what we needed out of our bags and went to our room. However, when we got back from the parks that night, our luggage was not in our room. We called down to the front desk and were put on hold for 15 minutes before we hung up. We called back, and were put on hold for another 15 minutes. Then when we called back for a third time, we were told that they didn't know where our luggage was, and would call us back when they found our luggage. We were feeling somewhat anxious at this point. Thirty minutes or so later the luggage was brought up to our room. We had another issue with service at checkout. We received a letter saying that our luggage could be brought to the magical express shuttle if we called ahead. So we called the night before and were put on hold for 15 min Lisateave

We did not have very high expectations from this hotel given it's in moderate range. It does have some great things about it, for example the location is great for getting to all the parks and the Downtown area, the walk around the lake early in the morning was really nice, there was good enough selection of food at the Food Court and we were always […] able to find something nice for breakfast. What does let this hotel down is the quality of rooms - ours felt and smelt very dump, especially on the 2 days that rained a lot (on a sunny day it wasn't so bad). We also got bitten quite a bit - not sure if mosquitos or bed bugs. Another thing was an INCREDIBLY SLOW service at check-in and ticket desk - it was clear that the guys were trying to do their best, but they just could not work any faster! Likely it was our first day in Orlando, so we forgot it very fast. After 3 nights it was a good time to leave - I don't think we would have enjoyed it any longer! Looking back, the main reason to stay here would be the location. Disney Hotel priviledges are practically limited to free parking (and it makes sense to stay in a cheaper and nicer hotel and pay for the parking instead). The Early Hours do not give a lot of advantage (only 1 extra hour early in the morning) and you need to plan well to stay on the right day and visit the right park on the right day. The late hours we did not use at all (instead we paid a lot for Micky not so scary Haloween party which was probably the best use of $$$ as you could go on virtually any ride with no queue at all) Lisateave

Did not have a king bed or any view to Speak of. Do not pay extra for water view Or have the correct expectation that it's not a great View at all . Resort was older but very clean and comfortable. Be prepared to make multiple stops before making It to the parks as this hotel has 5 different pickup Places

The beach areas have no swimming signs, the 2 full beds were kid-sized(my feet hungover) as were the sinks and counters. Very funny to watch my 6' husband shave.The grass was not mowed and ton-o-bugs-- bring your OFF if you book-- no elevators.... the staff was really nice and bus service to and from Disney/Epcot super easy! Booked this hotel in case […] we had to "walk"it to/from Epcot, didn't have to. Gated to go in and out of resort-- if you are thinking about ordering delivery to save a few bucks-- they have their on site pizza service. I hope this helps. Lisateave

We loved the hotel. We have stayed there before, but were never able to use the pool. The pool is awesome. The kids had a great time.

The people where amazing and very friendly here, they are very helpful and they made my stay very relaxing. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Beautiful surroundings with palm trees, sand beach, and hammocks. Can't swim in the water off of the beach but the easy access to the pools by the treed walkways just added to the relaxed feel. Grandkids enjoyed the slides and "water barrel" at the pool. Grandkids were excited to see the "Nemo" theme bedroom and beds were very comfortable. Food at Center […] Town was good. If you plan to spend several days at Magic Kingdom, the bus ride is long. However, grandkids enjoyed the bus ride and we never had to wait too long to get one. Staying at a Disney Resort Hotel added to the entire "Disney" experience. A great time was had by all! Lisateave

Noise from next room was heard in our room, the floor corners where not clean, they hade accumulated dust, for the price, really not a great deal of a hotel.

hotel stay was great!!! staff was very friendly and helpful. had a another booking at a different disney hotel and they delivered the bags for us while we went to Disney World. would recommend this hotel.

It is always an unknown when booking online additionally having never been in the area, however we were delighted with the hotel, grounds and ease of check in, transportation around the area, and facilities. We were given the exact room type we requested and it was ready for early check-in, which was appreiated since we took a red eye flight! Stayed there with 2 & 4 yrs old and grandparents! My recommendation if traveling with young children and "young-at-heart", go to a park for the day using their bus system (avg 20 min to any park) and enjoy the wonderful amenities of this hotel for the second! We fell in love with this hotel and are planing on going there again!!! P.s.: Don't attach […] a Disney ticket to your hotel room as it will expire as soon as you leave the hotel versus the typical 6 mth expiration date. Lisateave

The hotel was spread out over a very large area, the room was not very clean and they did not replace the coffee or soap and shampoo regularly only a few times a week. Only the main pool had supervision and it was not that close and the pool by the room had no supervision with kids doing whatever they wanted.

The resort was landscaped and gorgeous outside. The room we stayed in was small, and showed its age, but was well kept. The daily maid service did very little other than make the bed. It provided free shuttle service to all Disney parks and recreational activities and had two pools as well as a lake on the property.Basic items needed including meals […] during the day, souveniers and ammenities were readily available. Overall the resort was a good choice for a trip to Disney World Lisateave

Excellent room and location. My hotel room smelled bad, there was rust on the window frame, the TV had no movie channels or HBO etc...even CNN didnt come in clearly. Outside the concrete paint was partially chipped off. The place to get food was far from the room, and inconvenient. Lucky for me, I was only there for one night. I slept in my clothes I was grossed out by this hotel. […] Walt Disney would be embarrassed to have families/guests stay here. My son stayed here with a team from school. Disney must think that teenage kids dont matter. Lisateave

We were very happy we chose the Carribean Beach Resort. The pirate theme was perfect for my almost 4-year old son and the pools and beaches gave us a lot to do other than the parks. The shuttles were very convenient and ran often and the trip to the parks and Downtown Disney was quick. We were in the farthest village from the restaurants and store which […] was a little inconvenient, but we brought strollers which was a huge help. We will definitely request a village closer next time and we definitely plan to stay here again. Lisateave

I would put this in the same catagory as a Super 8! The WORST Disney Hotel I have ever stayed in! DIRTY, BADLY needs remodeled! HORRIBLE! DO NOT STAY HERE! I called and complained as I don't normally do - and we were upgraded to one of the newer remodeled Pirate rooms. This Disney resort is VERY spread out! NOT in anyway convienient for transportation! […] Maids were in room next to us late at night stripping down the beds - mattress pads, comforters and all! Not sure why?! I think that is why management let us change rooms! DO NOT STAY HERE - DIRTY! GROSS! Lisateave

Hello we booked 2 rooms we need internet access for our business and this hotel charges for internet but neither room had working internet access both had broken cables and we have to wait for repairs to be made one of the room doors would not lock even with the dead bolt you could just pull the handle and open the door without the room key again we […] had to wait in the room for repairs very unlike the Disney we are used too :( Lisateave
